Adam A. Schneider

Mr. Schneider, a partner with the firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of hospital and professional liability defense.

Brad Shipley

Mr. Shipley is an Associate with the firm. His practice is concentrated mainly in professional liability defense. Mr. Shipley's whole life was spent in preparation to be a litigator. He developed a love of strategic thinking at an early age, and competed at a high level in organized athletic and intellectual competitions throughout his early life. While he has come to appreciate the tremendous value that an attorney can provide clients by facilitating a favorable negotiated resolution, his background in athletics and strategy games has provided him with a comfort level in the adversarial process which means that, like all the attorneys at John H. Cotton and Associates, he is well-prepared and eager to see a case through to verdict and beyond if necessary. In addition to having successfully resolved cases through both negotiation and motion practice, Mr. Shipley is proud to have served as second chair in the firm ™s defense of two resident physicians which resulted in a jury verdict in favor of both of the firm ™s clients after a short deliberation.

John H. Cotton

Mr. Cotton concentrates his practice in litigation, primarily in the areas of business litigation and professional malpractice. He has tried hundreds of cases to jury verdict, including numerous brain damaged baby and paraplegic injury cases, most of which involved damage demands in excess of $5,000,000.00. In addition, Mr. Cotton has maintained an extensive appellate practice.

Katherine L. Turpen

Ms. Turpen is a partner with the firm and has broad experience litigating cases from commencement of the action through trial. Her practice is concentrated in the area of professional liability defense, including Medical Malpractice defense, Legal Malpractice defense and Nursing Home litigation. She has been with the firm since 2004. Ms. Turpen regularly represents healthcare providers in administrative matters before their professional licensing boards. She has successfully assisted and defended Nevada providers before the Board of Medical Examiners, the Board of Osteopathic Medicine, the Board of Nursing, the Physical Therapy Board, the Board of Social Work, the Pharmacy Board and the Board of Psychological Examiners. In addition to her litigation and administrative licensing practice, Ms. Turpen is experienced credentialing counsel. She advises clients, both credentialing committees and individual practitioners, regarding credentialing and privileging activities. Ms. Turpen has also worked as a neutral hearing office, presiding over various manners of healthcare credentialing disputes. Michael D. Navratil

Mr. Navratil is a partner of the firm. He concentrates his practice in the area of professional liability defense. Over the years he has actively defended scores of physicians and attorneys in Nevada. He has tried several jury trials in Clark County, Nevada courts, and has secured judicial dismissals of a number of doctors and lawyers through aggressive discovery and motion practice.
