Adam Gibson


Chris Kelly

Chris was born and raised in Gore, the country music capital of New Zealand. After leaving school he qualified as a butcher but held a keen interest and love for farming. Spending his weekends and as much free time as possible on farms, Chris eventually decided to follow his calling and started a new career in the ag industry. Most of his working life has now been spent in the agriculture industry with a long stint spent in Western Australia in the "wheat belt" operating large scale machinery. After returning to New Zealand Chris spent almost 10 years as an operations manager for a large scale dairy business in the Maniototo area of Central Otago. Chris's extensive experience in various roles within the agriculture industry have provided him excellent knowledge of what the modern farmers needs are.

Christoph Kalin

Christoph is a qualified A grade mechanic and has been with JJ's Ashburton since 2009. Christoph's extensive knowledge of AGCO products is a real asset for both JJ's and the customers we serve.

Clint Jordan

Clint comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in the agricultural sector and has a passion for tractors he has worked in the industry all his life in various roles - mechanic, farming, managing a large contracting business, and recently cultivation sales.

Danie Van Den Heever

Danie grew up in the central part of South Africa. Upon finishing school he worked in America and England driving combines and grain trailers and doing general farm work. In 2011, Danie joined BHBW which is the wholesale distributor of all AGCO products in South Africa where he was Product Specialist and Regional Sales Manager until he joined JJ Ltd in January 2020 as the Service Manager. Danie has moved into a sale role with JJ's and with his wealth of knowlege and practical experience he understands the importance of finding solutions for his clients.

Danie Van Den Hever

Gavin Denston

Gavin took up an apprenticeship upon leaving school and has been a tractor mechanic, a workshop service manager for more than 15 years and then moved into sales.

Geoff Sadlier

Geoff, an "A" grade mechanic by trade, joined JJ Ltd Invercargill branch as a road salesman in 1981. In 1986 Geoff shifted to the Gore branch and in 1990 he became manager when his father Eoin retired. Geoff's mechanical background and years of sales experience, make him a very valuable member of the management team.

Geoff Van Dam

Geoff was born in Canterbury but shifted at a young age to Southland where he attended school at Winton Primary & Central Southland Collage. Upon leaving school he worked on a farm for a year before taking a parts roll with W E Gander's in Invercargill as a junior parts person for eight years eventually moving on to work for Shell Gladstone before becoming theParts Managers at JJ's in Invercargill for almost 20 years. In 2018 he took a job as a sale representative for Sparex based in Christchurch so he could be with his partner who already lived there. After three years Geoff has found himself back working for the JJ's team again but this time as the Branch Manager in Christchurch. Geoff has a wealth of industry knowledge he brings with him and is a real asset to the Christchurch branch.

Grant Jones

In 1991, fresh out of school, Grant joined one of JJ Ltd's subsidiary companies as a jack of all trades, some mechanical work, spare parts, sales and even telephonist. Grant's sales ability soon became apparent, and after ten years with the company, the opportunity arose to start up and manage the Otago branch in Mosgiel. A position which Grant has relished, bringing the branch from a standing start to one of the leading tractor and farm machinery businesses in Otago, in only a few years.

Grant McKenzie

Canterbury born and bred with more than 40 years' experience in the agricultural and automotive parts industry before joining the JJ's team in 2012. Grant has the background and knowledge to ensure you are never caught short waiting for parts.

Hamish Bowie

Hamish grew up on his family's South Canterbury sheep farm, before moving to Wanaka to complete a building apprenticeship. After 4 years he began to miss the rural life, so moved back to South Canterbury to take up a job for a local arable farmer and ag contractor, largely operating Fendt tractors. After 5 years he decided to approach JJ's about doing an adult apprenticeship, which he started in 2015. On completion of his time he carried on as a field technician, until taking the Service Manager role in 2021. Hamish has a wealth of knowledge and is a real asset to JJ's and our customers.

Jason Leonard

Coming to JJ's with more that 10 year's experience in the agricultural parts industry, Jason has great customer relationships and knows the importance of delivering the second-to-none service levels JJ's is known for.

John Mitchell

Born and raised on a dairy farm in the south of the UK, farming and tractors has always been in John's blood. He completed his apprenticeship with Massey Ferguson 12 years before venturing over to NZ for seasonal work. He loved it and the team he worked with so much he decided to stay. Now with over 5 years working at JJs, John is a true kiwi. He has changed roles a few times since joining us, starting as a Service Technician, then moving to Service Manager, and he is now the Operations Manager for the Otago region. John is a passionate Massey Ferguson man and enjoys working with the entire AGCO range.

Kevin Winder

Kevin has recently joined the JJ's team and is our new Sales Rep for Cromwell, Queenstown and the Queenstown Lakes District.

Len Balneaves

Lenny is a fully qualified A grade diesel mechanic that is passionate about machinery. In his spare time Lenny is either helping clients with baling and other jobs on their farms, playing golf, or entering ploughing completions with one of his Massey Ferguson tractors. Lenny is very well known in Southland and the surrounding areas as someone always willing to go the extra mile for you.

Lindsay McIntosh

Lindsay is Southland born and bred and was brought up on a sheep farm at Waikaka. Lindsay was a member of the Gore Volunteer Fire Brigade for 37 years, his last 11 years as Deputy Chief Fire Officer and he was made a Life Honary Member of the Brigade. Having spent his working life in retail and administration in Gore and having worked the past 20 years for JJ's in the parts department, in 2020 Lindsay was made Parts Manager and looks forward to facing the challenges of managing this department: He knows the importance of going that extra mile to assist our clients and looks forward to meeting your requirements.

Michael Bone

Michael has been in the farm machinery industry for over 15 years. He believes in hard work, and providing his customers with the best customer service in the business. He has focused on self-improvement, people skills and raw honesty in his path to serving our demanding industry. In Michael's spare time he is a consummate cheerleader for his kids and their love of rugby and dance.

Michael Johnston

Michael was born in Christchurch started his parts career with North Harbour Ford at the age of 17. Michael has spent over 13 years in Automotive parts in both dealership and aftermarket and five years in IT before making the decision to go back to parts joining JJ Ltd Christchurch in 2016 as Parts Manager and in 2024 has moved into the role of After Sales Manager covering workshop and parts aftersales.

Nicola Swain

Nicola joined JJ's as Office Junior in 1996 and became Office Manager in 2011. If you want to know anything about JJ's, Nicola is the one to ask. Nicola is an active member of Riveria Touring Car Club and her choice of transport is her 1977 HX Premier with a supercharged 350.

Nigel Robertson

Nigel grew up in Southland and then gained a diploma in farm management at Lincoln, after which he spent a few years dairy farming before going on his OE. He then spent a number of years working on a large scale cropping farm, near Christchurch, growing potatoes, carrots and onions amongst other things. For the last 20 years he has been a self-employed agricultural contractor, but decided he was looking for a change and has joined the team at JJ's. Nigel brings with him a wealth of knowledge and is able to help you with all your agriculture machinery needs. In his free time he enjoys training for and competing in multisport events and is the captain of the VERTIGOATS adventure racing team.

Paul Jones

Paul joined JJ's as a salesman in 1995 spending time on the road, but his passion for computers soon found him installing a new system into the company. In 1998 Paul was appointed Branch Manager and in 2002 he was appointed to the board of directors on his grandfather's retirement. In 2018 Paul succeeded his father and became the third generation to hold the position of Managing Director of JJ Limited. Paul's professional accountancy background (BCom 1993) has been a major contributor to the company's success.

Pete Wilson


Peter Hughes

Peter was raised on a South Canterbury farm and attended Timaru Technical College. After his apprenticeship as a tractor mechanic, he became Service Manager for a local tractor business. This led to six years as a South Island tractor distributors technical support person and 2 1/2 years as National Service Manager. Peter joined JJ's in 2010 and brings with him in excess of 34 years of dedication to the technical side of the tractor industry.

Sab Fikaj

Job Titles:
  • Field Service Technician
Sab grew up on a farm in the UK and became an apprentice mechanic at Peacock and Binnington working on Massey Ferguson, Fendt, and Challenger tractors. As a fully qualify field service technician Sab continued with Peacock and Binnington for another four years until 2013 when he decided to spread his wings and see what New Zealand had to offer. After doing two seasons with us as a field service technician he decided to stay on permanently and took on the role as Service Manager Mosgiel.

Scott Evans

Scott came to JJ's with a number of years of parts experience working for another local Ashburton company. Scott has a real passion for agriculture having grown up on a farm in the area and says Ashburton is one of the best places you could live. His passion for providing the best in customer service is what really sets him apart.

Stephen Barker

Stephen was born and raised on a sheep and beef farm in Southland and after leaving school he completed his apprenticeship in Automotive Engineering and gained A Grade qualifications. Stephen has spent more that 25 years in the agricultural industry working for both the Mosgiel and Christchurch branches of JJ's as well as time in the UK working in the marine industry. Returning to NZ 18 months ago he took up the spanners again at the Mosgiel branch and moved into the Parts Manager role this year.

Steve Freeborn

Steve was previously the Marketing Manager for JJ's for 6 years and left to spend time on the family farm before returning to JJ's in March 2022 as the Branch Manager. Steve and his wife live on their dairy farm at Tussock Creek and if he has any spare time he loves getting into his workshop and improving his woodworking skills.

Stu Winter

Stu started with JJ's back in 1979 as an eager heavy diesel apprentice. Once completing his apprenticeship, it wasn't long till Stu showed an exceptional talent in the baler & combine field, becoming our senior technician in this area. During this time Stu even had a two year stint managing the workshop. In 2008 Stu moved from our workshop to our sales division. When not at work Stu is a massive family man, who loves spending time with his children, 4 wheel driving, trail bike riding or working on his car collection.

Tony Scanlan

After leaving school Tony did a fitters apprenticeship at NZ Railways Hillside workshops in Dunedin, but after five years went back to work on the family farm and did contracting in the summer months with a conventional baler. Tony's dad was more into the stock so Tony looked after the machinery side of the farm. Tony eventually brought a medium square baler and went contracting for 17 years while also traveling to England and did five years straw baling in the UK during the NZ off season.

Warren Harrison

Warren has been with JJ's for over 10 years, starting with the company as an experienced and proficient Service Manager. When Warren was looking for a new challenge he moved into a Sales Rep role where he has thrived and become an extremely valuable asset to our customers. With his deep understanding of tractors and machinery, Warren knows how to find the right product to fit any size operation. His ability to provide the best customer support in the business is second to none.

Wayne Sutherland

Wayne was born, bred and educated in Western Southland, upon finishing school he moved to Invercargill and completed an apprenticeship in the automotive industry. Wayne joined JJ Limited's Invercargill team in 1996 and after six years as a service technician, he took over as Service Manager, a position that he still holds today.
