Anne Jones - Founder

Anne's career spanned thirty years as CEO of Jones Consulting Group, Inc., an organizational and strategic planning consulting firm providing services for Fortune 500 companies since 1979. Prior to 1979, Anne worked in product development with IBM. Anne has served on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards. Anne served as a board member of Signal Bank Red Wing from 1992 - 2001. Her non-profit work includes the role of chair for Fairview Red Wing Health Services, United Way board and ProAct, a service for disabled children and adults. She currently serves on the Development Committee of The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation. Anne has served on the Jones Family Foundation board since 1988. In 2008, Anne participated with Scott Jones and five couples to start a foundation for at-risk youth in Tucson, AZ. "I believe our Foundation's over-arching purpose is to partner with others to offer youth in our community the opportunities and experiences to strive to reach their potential and for the Jones Family Foundation to participate in unique initiatives that will enrich our community."

Cathy Hooper

Cathy comes to the Jones Family Foundation with a vast background of work experience including marketing and communications, sales, office administration, and even a small business owner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Minnesota State University - Mankato in 2009 and focused her career on healthcare communications. She worked for Scripps Health in San Diego, CA before moving back to her hometown of Red Wing in 2016 to work for Mayo Clinic. She has served as a board member with the International Association of Business Communicators and the Republican Eagle. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three grown sons, their spouses and two granddaughters, traveling, and exploring with her Golden Retriever, River.

Jay Tauer

Jay Tauer has been with Red Wing Shoe Company (RWSC) for 30 years and has supported the company in several critical functions. His current position is International Retail Operations Manager and he is a member of the Global Retail Team. Other notable roles at RWSC have included: Global Sourcing Manager for the Supply Chain, Product Development Manager, Purchasing Manager and a Red Wing Shoe Store Manager. Jay also played an integral part in the Company's Centennial Celebration in 2005 and acted as the Chief Events Coordinator. Jay is very active in many non-profit organizations and programs. His non-profit work includes (but is not limited to) serving on the Board of Directors for the Red Wing Youth Outreach Program (now Rise-Up Red Wing) from 1996-present, serving two terms as President and currently sits on the Executive and Finance Committees. He has served as a Board Member for the United Way for two 3-year terms and has also served on several athletic program boards in various roles in the Rosemount Community, including President and Treasurer. Jay has proudly served on the Jones Family Foundation board since 1994. Jay and his wife Jenny have been happily married for 28 years and have two children. Alex (27) and Anna (19). They live in Rosemount, Minnesota. "I have been blessed with amazing people in my life and work for a company that believes it is every person's responsibility to support the overall health and well-being of all people in the communities we live and work. It is an honor to serve as a board member for the Jones Family Foundation and I am inspired by the Founders quest to give back to the Red Wing Community.

Jeremy Wells

  • Senior Vice President of Philanthropic Services at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation
Jeremy serves as senior vice president of Philanthropic Services at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation. In this role, Jeremy serves as the chief fundraising and donor stewardship strategist. He leads the philanthropic Services team to ensure donors, advisors, and organizations receive concierge-level service. He also works to identify opportunities to raise important resources to support community initiatives. A veteran in the field of philanthropy, Jeremy joined The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation in 2012. He earned a master's degree in philanthropy and development and holds his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification. Jeremy is an adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Thomas and speaks frequently on a variety of philanthropy and leadership topics. In addition to his work, Jeremy serves on numerous local, regional and national boards. He loves spending time with his wife, Kelly, and three children. He enjoys traveling, theatre, and various outdoor activities. Jeremy joined the Jones Family Foundation Board in 2015. "I believe strongly in the concept of vocation…serving at the intersection of where my deep passion meets the world's deep need. The Jones Family Foundation is a shining example of this work in and around the community of Red Wing, and it is an honor to be a part of this work and serve with so many talented, passionate community leaders."

Neela Mollgaard

Neela's career has continually involved bringing people together to create change. She has been a leader and facilitator of organization and community innovation. She has experience working in corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors. Currently, she is leading statewide efforts to serve startups, small businesses, and organizations that support them. Neela joined state government to create and deploy Launch Minnesota, a statewide initiative to help grow the state's innovation ecosystem. The initiative has successfully deployed over $6 million dollars to startups and created a network to connect and coordinate the startup ecosystem across the state. Prior to joining state government, she was a founder of the nonprofit Red Wing Ignite, which supports entrepreneurs, businesses, and students to succeed in the 21st-century economy. They created a model, that received national attention, developing an innovative ecosystem by forging partnerships with government, academic, corporate, and community partners.

Pastor Justin Boeding

Justin Boeding has been Directing Pastor of United Lutheran Church since 2013. During his tenure in Red Wing, he has been privileged to serve on the boards of the C.A.R.E. Clinic, Camp Wapogasette, and LifeTeams. Justin is especially honored to be part of the Jones Family Foundation as he believes the Foundation's commitment to address the critical challenges Red Wing faces in order to advance bold initiatives will have a transformative effect on the entire community. In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife, Jayne, and their two teenage children. Rachelle Cobb - EVP

Rachelle joined the Jones Family Foundation in 2002. She has over 28 years of business experience in marketing, strategic planning and office administration working in consulting firms and the banking industry. She has volunteered her time for a variety of nonprofit organizations over the years which focus on the areas of cancer research, military support, emergency family services and animal welfare. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and German from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She is an avid yoga enthusiast and enjoys travel and occasional misadventures with her husband, Jeff, and spending time with their spoiled mutts.

Scott Jones - Founder

Scott's career in commercial banking spanned thirty-five years where he held various positions including serving as CEO of Signal Financial Services, a $1.2 billion bank holding company. During that time he served as president of the American Bankers Association from 1998 - 1999. He also served on the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, DC from 1999-2001. Since retiring from banking in 2002 he has focused his energies in the area of philanthropy, he served as chair of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation in 2009 & 2010. He has served on several other nonprofit boards as well. Scott has served on the Jones Family Foundation board since its inception in 1988.

Sheila Beckner

Over 30 years ago a chance teaching interview brought Sheila Beckner to Red Wing. That chance interview lead to a thirty year career with Red Wing Public Schools, serving as a teacher, director and most recently a school principal. Throughout her leadership career Sheila was passionate about building relationships, developing safe and supportive school cultures, and sparking innovative educational practices. Sheila's connection to the Jones Family Foundation started over twenty years ago when they readily funded an inventive project for a school that she served as the principal. From that first partnership, it become clear to Sheila that the Foundation was a steadfast voice encouraging educators to think beyond, explore widely and expansively create. Throughout her career, Sheila witnessed firsthand the reach of the Foundation as learning opportunities continually flourished and broadened for students and teachers in Red Wing. Sheila earned her Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and her Educational Specialist Degree from St. Thomas University, St. Paul, MN. She lives in Red Wing with her husband Bruce. They have two boys Meyer, a recent University of Minnesota graduate and Asa, a student at Minnesota State University Mankato. Sheila is a registered yoga instructor and teaches at the Red Wing YMCA. Sheila has served on the Foundation Board since 2020.

Tim Kelly

  • Financial Advisor With Discovery Financial Centers
Tim Kelly has been a financial advisor with Discovery Financial Centers for 25 years. He became an owner and partner of the firm in 1997. Tim and his wife Sue have four children and five grandchildren and are lifelong residents of the Red Wing community. He has held many volunteer positions in the community centered around service and youth. These include the United Way, YMCA, Kiwanis, Blandin Leadership program and the youth associations of football, baseball and basketball. Tim also served and chaired the Red Wing School Board for five years which led to his elected position as Representative in the Minnesota State House of Representatives from 2008 - 2016. In his duties as Representative, he served on the committees of Public Safety, Education Finance, Energy, Civil Law, Health and Human Services and Ethics. "It has always been a personal goal to give back to the community that has offered so many opportunities to our own family. We try to do this with a single motivating theme - Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it - Attitude is everything." The Jones Family Foundation is a shining example of this message and I am honored to serve with such an outstanding group of individuals."
