Blake Swanson is a medical illustrator and animator who has been working professionally since 2007. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Medical Illustration from the Medical College of Georgia. In addition to his academic training, Blake has spent time working in a busy emergency room and trauma center and is familiar with both the clinical and academic sides of medicine.After completing his graduate education, Blake went to work for a medical animation company, creating 2D and 3D animations for various medical device companies and professional health associations, such as Zimmer, Cook, GE Healthcare, American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography. In 2012, Blake began his journey as a freelance medical legal illustrator, pursuing his passion for the problem solving and strategic storytelling inherent in medical malpractice and personal injury work. He has since created numerous successful trial exhibits for both plaintiff and defense attorneys.Blake joined The Keenan Law Firm in March of 2020, where he has been able to grow and continue his lifelong education under the firm's expert guidance. David is a trial lawyer recognized across the country for his advocacy on behalf of victims of abuse and neglect in long-term care facilities. He has obtained multiple record-setting resolutions for his clients, including the highest verdict for a nursing home death case in Massachusetts - $14.4MM during a time when state law was not favorable for this type of case. He is often called upon to negotiate, pro hac, consult and try cases across the country.
Over the years, David expanded his practice to represent other vulnerable members of our society, including individuals and families affected by catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, elder neglect and abuse, premises liability, medical malpractice, product liability, negligent security, and other cases where corporate negligence plays a key role.
Since 2012, David has served as Dean of the Keenan Trial Institute, an organization devoted to educating trial lawyers across the country on the system and techniques necessary to win and protect the community's safety, as well as deter wrongdoers by holding them accountable.
