Adam Lanier

Experience: Adam joined Miller Pipeline in 2023 as the Director of Pipeline Safety Management Systems, focusing on installing measures to mature the safety culture. His career in energy began in 2006 with Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania in their engineering department. Since then, Adam has served in several different operations and support capacities. Before Miller Pipeline, Adam worked as the Director of Contractor Performance at NiSource, often working closely with Miller Pipeline to devise ways to implement safety management systems within contractors' field operations. In his current role, Adam oversees all safety operations at Miller Pipeline, including developing and implementing safety training programs, coordinating with customers to ensure the best safe practices for field crews, and maintaining safety data and records. Education: Adam has served as a mentor with Big Brother Big Sister and currently serves on the Southern Gas Association's Pipeline Safety Management Systems Advisory Committee.

Chad Davis

Job Titles:

Experience: Chad Davis began his career with Miller Pipeline in 1997 as a laborer. He quickly progressed to an operator and then became a foreman in 2000. He has spent the last decades managing large projects, spearheading start-ups, and integrating acquired operations in the eastern and southern areas of the United States. In 2005, he was promoted to superintendent, and in 2011, he stepped into his current role overseeing southern region construction operations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas. Most recently in 2024, he added managing the central region operations in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Education: Davis attended Vincennes University from 1996-1997 and IUPUI from 1997-1998. Davis is a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and is involved with the Children's Bureau of Indianapolis. He was nominated as a director of the Distribution Contractors Association (DCA) for a one-year term in 2023 and is also an active member of the Southern Gas Association and PLCA. Davis is also a member of the Alabama Natural Gas Association, Florida Natural Gas Association, and Mississippi Gas Association.

Chris Schuler

Experience: Chris Schuler joined Miller Pipeline in 1984 as a laborer. Over the years, he served the company in many capacities, including equipment operator, foreman, superintendent, and project manager. In 2009, he was made General Manager of Municipal Services where he oversaw Miller Pipeline's water and wastewater markets. In February 2021, he assumed his current role of VP. Education: Schuler attended Indiana University focusing on Economics and Business from 1983-1986. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Economics in 2001.

Dale Anderson - COO, President

Experience: Dale Anderson has over 35 years of experience in the utility construction industry. Prior to joining Miller Pipeline, Anderson began his career in utility construction as a laborer and eventually held the positions of President & COO with the MRM Network of Companies and Senior Vice President for the Quanta Services organization. Anderson now serves as President and COO and is responsible for Miller Pipeline's overall operations. He is also involved with strategic planning and high-level customer support and represents the company through participation in industry-related organizations and events. Education: MRM Leadership Training Program, 1993-1998 Marquette University's Continuing Education Program, 1990-1993 Harvard Business School's Key Executives Program, 2000 Anderson is an active member of the Distribution Contractors Association and was president in 2016. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Labor Negotiations Committee and sits on the Board of Directors Executive Finance Committee.

Dan Short

Experience: Dan Short joined Miller Pipeline in 2011 as its Chief Financial Officer. He was VP of Finance at an energy company for 10 years prior. From 1990 to 2001, Short served in a variety of financial positions with an investor-owned utility, including CFO of non-regulated operations and treasurer at the holding company level. From 1980 to 1990, he worked for Deloitte, specializing in energy companies and mergers and acquisitions as a senior manager. Education: Short graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting in 1980.

Frank Bracht

Experience: Frank Bracht joined Miller Pipeline in 1985 as an inventory clerk in New Jersey. Over the next few years, he served the company in many capacities, assuming the role of foreman from 1987-1989 until he became a supervisor for Encapsulant projects. In 1991, he stepped into the role of operations coordinator for the East Coast. He was promoted to general manager in 2000 and in 2006, he assumed his current role as vice president of East Coast Operations. Education: Bracht attended Rutgers University and Middlessex College in New Jersey, focusing on Economics, Business and Accounting between 1982-1985. Bracht is a member of the Distribution Contractors Association (DCA) and DCA Safety Committee. He also serves as the Miller Pipeline representative for the Northeast Gas Association.

Jeff Sutcliffe - CFO

Experience: Jeff joined the Miller Pipeline team in November 2022 as Chief Financial Officer and oversees the company's financial operations, including best practice implementation and partnering with our field team to drive value creation opportunities. Jeff is a senior executive with +25 years of progressive experience across finance, business leadership, operations, and data disciplines. He has a background in manufacturing and field service sectors, leading teams of various sizes domestically and globally. Education: Jeff received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 1997 and earned an MBA degree from DePaul University in 2001.

Jim Wilson

Experience: Jim Wilson began his career with Miller Pipeline as a laborer in 1991. In a few short years, Wilson was promoted to an operator, a position he held for four years before being promoted to foreman in the spring of 1999. In 2006, Wilson stepped into a general foreman position then quickly progressed into a superintendent role. In 2011, Wilson became the manager of Ohio, overseeing Columbus and Dayton construction. In June 2018, Wilson was promoted to his current role of Vice President of Ohio Operations. Education: Wilson graduated from Logan Elm High School in 1987 in Circleville, OH. Wilson is a member of the Midwest Energy Association (MEA), Distribution Contractors Association (DCA), and Ohio Gas Association and has sat on numerous Damage Prevention councils in Ohio. He is also a regular contributor to the American Red Cross.

Josh Sargent

Experience: Josh Sargent joined Miller Pipeline in 2016, initially serving as Quality Manager, leveraging his extensive 25-year experience in the utility industry. His journey began as a laborer in the storm and sewer utility sector, swiftly transitioning into the natural gas business. Progressing through roles in engineering, compliance, and operations at Vectren (now CenterPoint Energy), he ascended to the position of General Manager at Great Lakes Construction Services in May 2018. In February 2021, he assumed his current role as Regional Vice President - Operations. Education: Sargent graduated from Elizabethtown Community College in 2000 with a two-year degree in Mechanical Design and also completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision at Purdue University. Sargent is a 2015 graduate of the Vectren Emerging Leaders program.

Kevin Miller

Experience: Beginning his career in 1973, Kevin Miller has worked in nearly every capacity with the company. He started in the field as a general laborer and over the next ten years advanced to operator and eventually a foreman. From 1987 through 1998, Miller became more involved in the management of the company, serving as a superintendent, general superintendent, and senior vice president. In 2004 he was appointed to president and chief operating officer, where he was responsible for operations company-wide.

Kim Kroll

Job Titles:

Experience: Kim has over 20 years of progressive human resources leadership experience with a dynamic history of working across diverse industries such as manufacturing, service, and construction, focusing on the strategic development of strong organizations and talented employees. Kimberly joined the team in 2023 and represented Human Resources for Otis Minnesota Services, an Artera company. Education: Kim obtained her Master of Business Administration from Medaille College and is a Senior Certified HR Professional through SHRM. Kim has served the HR community in various Board of Director Roles with the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association (BNHRA), most recently as President of the 700-member organization. She has also volunteered at the state level as Director of Workforce Readiness. Both are affiliates of the Society for Human Resource Management. Kim has been a judge for the Regional DECA competition within NYS for statewide high school business students for the past ten years.

Laura Morrow

Experience: Laura started her career in the utility infrastructure construction industry in 2013 as the communications and marketing specialist for Miller Pipeline. Laura also represents Artera, parent company to Miller Pipeline, as Vice President of Communications. Laura oversees all functions within the communications department and is also involved with strategic planning, helping to align all messaging with company goals and department initiatives. Education: She has a B.S. in Business Management from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Michelle Hall

Experience: Michelle joined the team in 2015. Prior to joining Miller Pipeline, she spent almost 10 years working for a natural gas marketing and supply company where she started as a Paralegal and eventually became a Senior Legal Counsel. Michelle also represents Artera, parent company to Miller Pipeline, as Vice President of Claims. Education: Michelle graduated from Earlham College in 1994 with a B.A. in English Literature and earned her J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1999.

Mike David

Job Titles:

  • Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis
Experience: Mike joined the Miller Pipeline team in February 2023 as the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. Before Miller Pipeline, Mike started banking at HSBC in 2003, working in various functions, including internal audit, risk management, underwriting, and corporate finance. In 2007, he joined Stanley-Black & Decker, serving in several capacities, including Transformation Finance Director and Director of Operations finance, where he managed teams across North America, Europe, and Asia. As Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, Mike oversees Miller's day-to-day execution of the company's global FP&A operations. He leads company-wide processes, including annual operating and long-range planning, and oversees the monthly forecasting. Education: Indiana University Kelley School of Business - B.S. Business Administration; concentration in Finance - 2002 Indiana University Kelley School of Business - M.B.A Finance - 2009 Mike serves as Board President of the Fishers High School Gridiron Club. He also coaches football, basketball, and soccer for the Mudsock Youth Athletics Organization. Mike also volunteers for various charities, including Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and the Julian Center.

Ray Swerdfeger

Experience: Ray was born into the civil construction industry. His parents founded K.R. Swerdfeger Construction in 1968, specializing in utility installation, highway, site work, and heavy industrial applications. In July 2021, K.R. Swerdfeger was acquired by Artera Services, with Ray transitioning to the role of Vice President of Mountain Region Construction. Ray has held virtually every position in the industry, serving as a pipe layer, heavy equipment operator, foreman, and project manager. Ray was named president of K.R. Swerdfeger in 2006. His vast knowledge of open-cut and trenchless rehabilitation methods of aging infrastructure has proven to be a valuable resource to Miller Pipeline. Education: Ray graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University in 1994. Ray is a prominent figure in several industry-specific organizations and many community programs around Pueblo, Colorado. From 2004-2013, Ray sat on the board of the Colorado Contractors Association and was the board president in 2012. Since 2002, Ray has done work with the Pueblo Association of Home Builders and the Pueblo General Contractors Association. Ray has played an active role in Damage Prevention, including revisions to the Colorado 811 statute. Since the inception of the Colorado Underground Damage Prevention Safety Commission in 2018, he has served as a Commissioner. Ray has been involved with the Distribution Contractors Associations, serving on the board of directors for years and as the President in 2023.

Scott Miller

Experience: Scott Miller joined Miller Pipeline in 1979 and began work in the warehouse. Over the next few years, he served the company in many capacities assuming the role of foreman in 1985, superintendent in 1990, and area manager in 1996. In 1999, Miller was promoted to vice president of Ohio Construction. Since then, the Ohio division has seen significant growth, expanding from 20 to over 100 crews. In 2018, Miller was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Performance and Quality. Education: Miller graduated from Clyde High School, Ohio, in 1979.
