Darryl Feist

Darryl is one of KOT's longest tenured employees, having joined the team in 1991 as a field foreman. Quickly recognized as a valued team member with a dedication to quality and detail, Darryl was promoted to KOT's lead superintendent and has been overseeing the company's field operations since 1995. He has been involved in every large scale project in KOT's history, from the new North American headquarters for Toyota to nearly a dozen facilities for Amazon. Because of his skill, knowledge and dedication, Darryl's personality is a major contributor in making KOT feel like a tight-knit family. Darryl and his wife Wendy enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, whether it is at their lake house in East Texas or in the mountains of Colorado.

Debbie Parker

Debbie Parker joined the King of Texas Roofing Company, LP, team in August of 2015, bringing personnel and administrative experience from a 20-year career in construction in general contracting as well as road construction. As HR Director, she works diligently to ensure all team members' employment experiences are beneficial for the company and for them. Her philosophy of open communication, teamwork, and a healthy work-life balance aligns with the tenets of King of Texas. Debbie strives to stay up to date on compliance issues, HR best practices, and changes in the insurance industry. She was the 2019-2020 and the 2020-2021 NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Dallas Chapter President. This organization empowers women in construction and provides its members a platform to "Be the Voice of Confidence & Courage". Debbie is a graduate of the Stagen Academy Integral Leadership Program, Class of 2022.

Jeff Newberry

Jeff took a flyer as a draftsman at Eagle Roofing Systems in 1985. He joined the KOT team in December of 1995 as an estimator/project manager and never looked backā€¦" "My longevity at King of Texas can only be attributed to the great, dedicated work force with whom I work with every day." "It is incredibly rewarding to work with some of the most honest, hardworking people in the industry. Jeff and his wife Christine, reside in Fort Worth. Together they have 6 grown children and 5 grandchildren.

Jennifer Gonzalez

In 2002, Jennifer joined KOT as a project assistant on awarded projects at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Additionally, she managed the Repair and Maintenance Department which included roof repairs, finish out, inspections and 24/7 emergency repairs. She comes to KOT after her career in construction began at Buford-Thompson Company as Accounting Manager. Her accounting expertise, work ethic and attention to detail were invaluable components for expanding role working with the KOT estimating department as lead Project Administrator. Jennifer assists KOT's project managers in all administrative capacities, from inception to completion of all awarded projects.

Jesse Guiterrez

Jesse Guiterrez has been an integral part of the King of Texas Roofing Company, LP team for 25 years. In his role as Superintendent he works closely with Project Managers and crews to optimize scheduling, metal fabrication, and installation of our projects. Jesse's leadership is instrumental in increasing communication between the office and the field.

Kelly Van Winkle - CEO, President

Kelly served on the Executive Committee of the NRCA as Vice President of the Association, was on the Board of Directors, and currently contributes to other NRCA committees in various capacities. She was also engaged as President of the National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) and still enjoys membership in NAWIC, the National Association of Women in Construction. Kelly entered the family business, beginning the third generation of her family in commercial construction. Kelly was named President/CEO in December, 2019 and has been Co-Owner of King of Texas Roofing Company, LP since 2013. Most recently, she is honored to contribute as a board member of Duke University Women's Impact Network and as a member of the Big D Dallas Chapter of YPO.

Kyle Cahill

Kyle recently joined the King of Texas team after completing his degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. He starts the ground running within the roofing industry and our operation as he interned for King of Texas for two years while on break from Texas A&M. While at Texas A&M, he served as a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, and the Corps of Cadets. Kyle also participated on the Texas A&M's Old Army Roofing Team which won 1st Place in the Roofing Alliance's Student Competition. He is very excited about joining the King of Texas team and has already made a significant contribution. Gig'em Aggies!

Lance Van Winkle - CFO

Over the previous 15 years, Mr. Van Winkle performed mergers and acquisitions and finance transformation consulting engagements for multinational corporations before joining King of Texas in 2016. He currently serves as Director of Business Development which includes strategic initiatives, estimating, proposal development and project management duties associated with the operations of King of Texas.

Lori Buckner

Lori has worked at King of Texas Roofing Company since 1990. She is responsible for accounting-related activities; billing, cost accounting, tax filing, cash management, accounts payable, payroll, and finance activities. She majored in political science at the University of Texas at Arlington, then returned to college for a degree in business. Lori is truly blessed to be a wife and a mother with one lovely daughter. She enjoys RV camping, outdoor recreation, sport shooting, and spending time with family and friends. She feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to work closely with our wonderful employees, clients, and suppliers.

Miguel Velazquez

Miguel has several years of experience working with the King of Texas team in our sheet metal operations. He recently transitioned to the Safety Assistant role working under our Safety Director. He already brought significant knowledge to the role concerning roofing safety protocols due to his field experience with the sheet metal crews. Miguel collaborates and works with General Contractors and the management team to ensure a safe workplace on each project. He performs multiple job site visits and conducts safety audits to ensure required procedures and best practices are followed by the roofing crews. If he identifies any shortfall in the performance of key safety protocols, he will remediate them immediately both through communication with the roofing crews and upper management.

Nelson R. Braddy - Founder

Nelson R. Braddy, Jr. is has been in the roofing industry since 1979. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University, and working in the engineering field for several years, he joined his father-in-law at R.W.King, Inc. Further, he subsequently founded his own commercial roofing company, King of Texas Roofing Company, L.P. in Dallas, TX in 1982.Mr. Braddy has been an active participant in the National Roofing Contractor Association since 1984. Having served on numerous committees and tasks forces, Mr. Braddy was on the Board of Directors for two terms, Vice President on the Executive Committee for two terms, served as Senior Vice President from 2012-2013, President from 2013-2014, and Immediate Past President from 2014-2015.

Refugio Alvarez

Refugio has over 18 years of construction/manufacturing safety experience in the Dallas area. As King of Texas Roofing Company's Safety Director, he is responsible for developing strategies to improve the company's safety performance in its drive toward zero injuries. Refugio manages all safety programs to ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, and the use of protective equipment. He also assures that the workplace is in compliance with OSHA safety standards and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Refugio works closely with King of Texas' management team in a collaborative effort to enhance the safety culture throughout all of King of Texas' projects. He is currently a member of the NRCA and works with the organization developing better safety standards for the roofing industry. Prior to joining King of Texas, Refugio worked as a Bilingual Safety Instructor, assisting in the safety and job skills training of over 6,000 construction industry students.

Robert Dutting

As one of the newest team members of the KOT family, Robert brings over 20 years of roofing expertise, with a special emphasis on standing seam metal roofing. His deep knowledge of sheet metal roofing installation, repairs and detailing has been invaluable in the promoting, and subsequent success, of KOT's Metal Roofing Division.

Tom began his tenure with King of Texas 32 years ago. Initially, he began as a laborer, then lead man, foreman, superintendent and currently project/operations manager. In his free time Tom enjoys golf, hunting, fishing and spending quality with his family.

Victoria Lopez

  • Project Administrator
Victoria joined the King of Texas team in May 2021 as the Administrative Assistant handling office administrative duties. She has quickly assumed more responsibility and expanded her role supporting the King of Texas management team. Her passion for building and construction started in high school, where she took engineering and robotics courses. She is currently pursuing an Associates degree in Construction Management by May 2023. Victoria will obtain and receive her Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent Certificate in December 2022. Working at King of Texas, Victoria has greatly expanded her knowledge of the construction industry, which has been helpful in her classes at school. Her ultimate goal is to become a project manager and she is very excited about her future at King of Texas.
