Aaron Davis is a partner in our San Diego office. His practice emphasizes patent protection and intellectual property counseling in electrical engineering and related fields.
Aaron provides legal services to leading technology companies, emerging companies, universities, and individual inventors. He regularly works with inventors located around the world to protect their innovations and advise on intellectual property issues. In addition to strategic patent procurement services, Aaron conducts intellectual property due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and provides non-infringement and invalidity analyses.
He has provided legal advice related to inventions for a variety of technologies including circuits for radio frequency (RF) and wireless communication systems, telecommunications, high performance computing systems, acoustic wave devices and filters, ultrasound imaging, electric vehicle innovations, electronic systems and sensing systems for vehicles, magnetic sensors, memories, MEMS, semiconductor devices, semiconductor manufacturing, packaging for electronic components, and software and data processing technologies. Aaron quickly understands new technologies and crafts custom legal advice to meet client objectives.
Prior to attending law school, Aaron developed circuits for microprocessors at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and worked on processor design at Intel.

Adam graduated cum laude from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis in 2022, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in physics from Montana State University in 2019. While in law school, Adam primarily enjoyed engaging with first-year law students as a legal writing teaching assistant, helping them hone their skills in factual analysis and legal writing. Adam was also fortunate to have worked closely for two federal judges during law school: once as an intern for the Honorable Roseann A. Ketchmark in the Western District of Missouri, and once as an extern for the Honorable Nancy J. Rosenstengle in the Southern District of Illinois.
While serving as primary editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review, Adam received a Mary Collier Hitchcock prize for outstanding writing for his note regarding the problem of-and potential solutions to-frivolous lawsuits filed in the intellectual property field.
Adam joined the firm in 2022.

Adeel S. Akhtar is a partner in our San Francisco office. He has extensive experience in patent protection, and other forms of intellectual property protection, for high technology industries.
Adeel's practice includes strategic patent procurement, general counseling on infringement and licensing issues, pre-litigation studies, intellectual property due diligence studies and related negotiations for mergers and acquisitions. He also frequently conducts in-house seminars to assist clients in identifying and prioritizing patentable inventions.
Adeel focuses on complex technologies, including software, data processing, and electronic devices such as sensors, imagers, displays, MEMS and integrated circuits. He has particular expertise in the semiconductor field, including:
Integrated circuit fabrication flows
Semiconductor device physics
Circuit layout
Scaling techniques
Chip packaging
Semiconductor processing equipment (ancillary systems, such as sensory systems, wafer handling systems, and metrology)
Basic processes developed for the equipment, such as deposition processes (including spin-on deposition, CVD, PVD and ALD), etching, annealing, oxidation, and photolithography

Alexander Trimes is an associate in the firm's New York office. Alex received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he served as co-editor in chief of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review. He was also a student clinician in the Documentary Film Legal Clinic. Before law school, Alex earned his B.A. in English from Boston College.
Alistair McIntyre focuses on patent prosecution and litigation pertaining to the biotech industry.
Alistair received his J.D. from UC Berkeley Law, where he was a member of and contributor to the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and involved with the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic. Prior, Alistair received a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota and a Master's degree in Bioengineering from UC San Diego.
