Ashley Pierson

Ashley Pierson, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant. She has been practicing dermatology in Knoxville and Sevierville for three years. Ashley graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Psychology and went on to receive her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia. Ashley is a member of the National Committee of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Ashley is a Knoxville native and is happily married with two beautiful daughters and a sweet dog. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching comedy and horror movies, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers! Brittany McCarthy

Brittany McCarthy, PA-C, MMS, is a board-certified physician assistant born in Newburgh, New York, raised in Sevierville, TN. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tennessee. She completed her education with a Master of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies at Lincoln Memorial University-School of Medical Sciences. She proudly served as an ambassador at LMU and was a PASSAGE member, where she volunteered at a local clinic to provide free medical care to the underserved community. She began her healthcare career working in family medicine as a medical assistant; however, she quickly discovered her love for dermatology. She earned her certification as a dermatology technologist and served the Knoxville community for two years prior to pursuing her career as a physician assistant. Currently, she is a member of the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and American Academy of Dermatology. Brittany is certified and licensed to diagnose, prescribe, and treat patients of all ages with general dermatologic concerns. Her expertise includes surgical excisions biopsies and diagnosing and treating skin disorders such as skin cancer, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and acne. In her time away from work, Brittany enjoys cheering on the Volunteers, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, volunteering in the local community, and spending time with her nephews - who are her pride and joy. Dr. Kimberly D. Vincent

Dr. Kimberly D. Vincent is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1994. Dr. Vincent interned in Pediatrics in Charlotte, NC and then completed her dermatology residency as Chief Resident at the Medical College of Georgia. She has been in private practice in middle and east Tennessee since 1998. Although her practice encompasses all general dermatology, Dr. Vincent very much enjoys performing surgical and cosmetic procedures. She has served as an officer in many medical societies, including the Tennessee Dermatology Society (Past President), Nashville Dermatology Society (Past President) and the Tennessee Women in Medicine (Past President). She holds memberships in the Tennessee Medical Association, Women's Dermatologic Society, Nashville Academy of Medicine and the National Psoriasis Foundation Leaders' Society. Dr. Vincent is a world traveller and revels in all things music! She is looking forward to serving the residents of East Tennessee! Jess Stockton

Jess Stockton, a former teacher, began his second career as a Physician Assistant in 2021 working in Mohs surgery and reconstruction. As a Knoxville native, he earned his undergraduate degree and Masters of Education from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Afterward, he attended South College for his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Jess is passionate about providing patients with excellent cosmetic and therapeutic outcomes following Mohs surgery. Robert M. Gathings

Dr. Robert Gathings is a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in the treatment of skin cancer with the Mohs technique and complex facial reconstruction. He received advanced training during an intensive fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Surgical Dermatology Group in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to fellowship, Dr. Gathings obtained board certification in dermatology after completing dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Previously, he graduated magna cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Engineering at the University of Mississippi and completed his medical training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Gathings is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has co-authored numerous scientific publications in the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology, and presented at the American College of Mohs Surgery's national meeting. Dr. Gathings is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and was given the Mark T. Smith Memorial Award in medical school for delivering compassionate care in medicine. He has an interest in health policy and completed the American Medical Association's Government Relations Internship Program where he served as a health policy analyst for BGR Group in Washington, D.C. Dr. Gathings treats Mohs surgical patients at Knoxville Dermatology Group offices in West Knoxville and Sevierville. When he is away from the office, Dr. Gathings enjoys spending time with his wife, Leaha, and daughter, Lucy. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, sports and traveling.
