Osprey, Florida, although located in between the more well-known cities of Venice and Sarasota, has some attraction of its own. Osprey is home to Historic Spanish Point, a museum featuring structures and relics from Florida's pioneer days and landscaped with various native Florida plants. Nature enthusiasts may also enjoy exploring the trails of Oscar Scherer State Park, which is one of the only areas in the state dedicated to preserving the habitat of the Florida Scrub Jay, a threatened species. Another landmark, the Blackburn Point Bridge at the crossing to beautiful Casey Key, is a historic one-lane swing bridge featured in the US National Registry of Historic Places.
