Abbey Shupert joined our team in 2023 to support our clients and attorneys as a legal assistant. Her goal is to make clients feel comfortable throughout the course of their legal matter. Although she grew up in the Chicagoland area, Abbey has called Grand Rapids home since 2007. In her free time, Abbey can be found at the ice rink, practicing with her Lake Effect Flurries teammates as they prepare for their next synchronized figure skating competition. She loves tap dancing, crafting, and watching reality TV with her orange cat, King.

Corinne works at the firm as the practice manager. She has worked at Kraayeveld Law since 1993. The first two decades, Corinne worked at the firm as a paralegal. As the firm grew, Corinne transitioned to be the firm's practice manager. When clients are concerned about the progress in their case or their invoices, Corinne is the person to contact. At Kraayeveld Law, we understand that you are likely in the biggest fight of your life. Sometimes clients become cases for attorneys and cases fall between the cracks of the attorney's busy schedule. That is just not acceptable at Kraayeveld Law, and it's Corinne's job to avoid that!

Kelsey A. McCalmon

"Kelsey's performance in navigating the divorce battlefield was simply marvelous. She is a tour de force lawyer with exceptional wit and was masterful in all avenues of my divorce proceedings." Kelsey grew up in Traverse City, Michigan where she fell in love with Lake Michigan and all the beauty and activities that West Michigan has to offer. Kelsey then spent the next six years at Michigan State University pursuing her childhood dream of becoming an attorney. Having earned both her bachelor's and law degrees from Michigan State, Kelsey is and always will be a huge Spartan football and basketball fan. Go Green! During law school, Kelsey worked on perfecting her legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, receiving Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for earning the highest grade in her Advocacy and Research, Writing & Analysis classes. Kelsey also led her moot court team as the team captain to a first-place victory over 28 teams at the William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition. Kelsey's desire for winning and achieving excellent results was evident then and remains evident in her work! After graduating Magna Cum Laude from law school, Kelsey pursued a career as a Research Attorney at the Michigan Court of Appeals where she further honed her excellent writing skills and her knowledge of Michigan law. During her time at the Court of Appeals, Kelsey decided that she wanted to work with families to help them with their family law problems, and she joined the Kraayeveld Law team. Kelsey's calm and steadfast guidance has helped her clients to reach excellent results. On a personal level, Kelsey is the proud owner of a sweet Corgi puppy named Winnie. In her free time, Kelsey loves to hike, spend time on the water, and explore the great outdoors.

Kristin Trieu

After growing up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Kristin attended Grand Valley State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in their legal studies program. She remained in the Grand Rapids area and began her career in the legal field immediately after graduating in 2008. Kristin enjoys the human aspect of family law and making complex processes easier for clients to understand and navigate. In her free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her children and their dog, Rohan, a retired racing greyhound. She is passionate about staying active and enjoying nature, loves cooking unique vegan meals, and is an avid audiobook consumer. Kristin enjoys playing pickleball every chance she gets, including competing in tournaments.

Lauren Parsil

Lauren grew up in the Toledo area before moving to Grand Rapids to attend college. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in legal studies. Her initial interest in the legal field stemmed from a desire to help others, resulting in a passion for cultivating positive experiences for clients. Lauren's hobbies include reading anything that is suggested to her, watching horror movies, and knitting. Additionally, she enjoys spending time outside and staying active whenever possible.

Max Hodges

Max graduated from Ferris State University with a bachelor's degree in their legal studies program and has carried his passion for legal work into his time at Kraayeveld Law working as a paralegal. Max is one of the first contacts for clients and he enjoys listening and helping clients navigate some of the most difficult times in their lives. Our attorneys and clients can count on Max going the extra mile to make sure that the work is done, and our clients get the best results possible. In his free time, Max enjoys video games, his four cats, Jasper, Smokey, Callie and Freddy, as well as doing renovations on his home.
