I enjoy the deep sense of gratitude when a client expresses that I have made all the difference in achieving the best outcome possible under their unique circumstances. My clients can expect to receive my undivided attention in solving their problems, whether that means doing what it takes to successfully prosecute, defend a lawsuit or keep a dispute out of the court system altogether. I have the trial and appellate experience needed to understand the end game and thereby help my clients evaluate their options and pursue goals most effectively. Collectively, our firm has the experience and sophistication to handle just about any legal issue clients might face.

Robert M. Charles

Job Titles:
  • Attorney
  • Attorney, Law Firm of Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C
Rob has been with the firm since graduation from law school in 1996. Over the course of the subsequent 25+ years, Rob developed a broad range and depth of business and transactional expertise. He guides clients through contract and transaction negotiations, business formations, acquisitions, sales and mergers and other challenges and opportunities his clients may face on any given day. Consistent with the firm's culture, Rob strives to acquaint himself with his clients' business, challenges and goals, and then collaborates as a trusted advisor to resolve the challenges and achieve the goals. Rob is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest peer review rating available to attorneys, and one that provides an objective indicator that a lawyer maintains the highest ethical standards and professional ability. In addition, Rob has actively served as a board and committee member for a number of local charitable organizations, volunteers his time for other community causes and, in his spare time, enjoys honing his barbeque skills and flying planes. I'm often asked, ‘What's the biggest deal you've worked on?' I have handled complex transactions in which no cash exchanged hands, as well as deals in the hundreds of millions dollars. For those deals, and all the ones in between, it was a big deal to my client - often the biggest business deal they will ever experience. I adopt my clients' definition of "big" and treat each transaction accordingly.

Ross has extensive speaking experience regarding employment discrimination, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, family and medical leave, employment agreements, workplace harassment, wage and hour issues and related rules and regulations. He has conducted countless training sessions for clients and their employees and has spoken at numerous meetings and seminars. The most rewarding part of my practice is when a client and I find a unique and creative solution to a problem that achieves a business goal while simultaneously minimizing legal risk. I do not dictate to my clients. On the contrary, I believe that ‘the legal tail should not wag the business dog.' By that, my clients understand, as employers, the best path forward may require that they weigh the cost of reducing or eliminating legal risk against the cost of proceeding despite that risk. I see my role as helping clients identify all aspects of those costs and equipping them to make an informed decision.
