Lareau and Lareau CPAs began business in the early part of 1981, at the beginning of the 1981-1982 recession. Robert Lareau and Steve Lareau, both veterans of foreign wars, found themselves unemployed- or "consultants"-you pick. At Robert Lareau's suggestion and with his money, they started this venture that has continued on to this day. Robert had worked in the nursery industry for many years and had a number of friends in the industry that gave us a beginning client base and something productive to do. In the early years we had plenty of time on our hands which allowed us to sit at Granny's donuts..
