Andrew Paterson

Andrew Paterson has represented clients in the superior courts for over 15 years. He became a member of the Victorian Bar in 1998 and became a member of the NSW Bar in 2001. While at the bar he has represented clients in a broad range of complex proceedings. Prior to coming to the bar, Andrew practiced as a solicitor at a number of firms. The last firm at which he worked was Deacons Graham & James (now, Deacons) in Melbourne. Among other matters he was the solicitor with the principal conduct of the successful class action brought by approximately 4,500 shareholders of Pyramid Building Society against the State of Victoria, the building society, its auditors, the Reserve Bank and others. Between 1982 and 1991 Andrew practiced as a Veterinary Surgeon.

Brian Ralston

Brian Ralston was admitted to the Bar in May, 1982 having practised as a litigation solicitor in a suburban practice for 5 years. Coming from a general litigation practice Brian has since his admission to the Bar practiced in a wide range of areas. He has conducted numerous criminal trials, has acted on behalf of Plaintiffs and insurers in personal injuries litigation, in addition to acting in matters involving contracts, equity, probate, the Property Relationship Act, the Family Provision Act, family law, building law and appellate work. Brian continues to practice in a wide range of jurisdictions with particular emphasis on commercial and equity matters, the Family Provision Act, the Property Relationship Act and general commercial litigation. Dennis Flaherty

Dennis Flaherty was admitted to the New South Wales Bar in 1982 and has practiced continuously at the Sydney Bar since that time. He is experienced in a wide variety of areas of the law including general equity, probate, commercial, and claims under Succession Act (2006). Dennis has been the author of a number of papers, as well as a speaker at numerous seminars on these topics.

Ivan Leong

Ivan Leong is an experienced junior Counsel. He practices in a broad range of commercial and equity matters and has acted for a broad range of clients. Ivan has appeared unled in the Supreme Court, District Court, Local Court, and NCAT, and led in the NSW Court of Appeal. Ivan is known for being efficient and commercially focused. He is also a careful strategic thinker and an adept and flexible tactician. Before coming to the Bar in 2010, Ivan worked as a litigation solicitor in boutique and mid-tier CBD law firms for three and a half years.

Ivan Tam

Ivan Tam is a Barrister practising at Latham Chambers. He was called to the Bar in 2010 after pracitising as a Solicitor for 4 and a half years. Mr Tam is fluent both in English and Cantonese. He has a deep understanding of both the Australian and Chinese culture, and is able to approach legal problems from different perspectives.

Tim Donaghey

Tim Donaghey is a leading employment/industrial relations junior counsel, practising mainly in Melbourne and Sydney. Tim has an extensive practice, and experience on the full range of workplace matters such as employment and contractor agreements, awards, general protections, industrial action, injunctive relief and commercial proceedings related to workplace law. Tim has written in journals, periodicals and for legal publishers about termination of employment (the book ‘Termination of Employment' in 2006 and its second edition in 2013, both published by LexisNexis), and Tim has also co-authored, ‘General Protections under the Fair Work Act' published by LexisNexis in 2019. This latter work is the first legal text dedicated to General Protections claims under Part 3-1 of the Fair Work Act.
