Ita Leyden B.E., M.Sc., Dip. Em, C.Eng M.IEI, M.IES, C.MIOSH Managing Director Ita Leyden is a chartered engineer, ergonomist and a chartered member of the professional body for health and safety, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) with over 25 years' experience in the ergonomics, engineering, training and safety fields. She was one of the first in Ireland to qualify with a M.Sc. in Ergonomics, Health, Safety and Hygiene from University College Galway. She also holds a Diploma in Environmental Management. Ita is a part time lecturer of Ergonomics in University College Dublin (UCD) and in a variety of safety topics in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). Ita also works with WIT in the development of academic curricula in relation to health and safety. From 2010 to 2013 Ita was a member of the South East Regional Advisory Committee to the HSA, and is a past Chair of the IOSH South East District and member of the IOSH Ireland Branch Committee. Ita was also a past member of the HSA expert panel on Construction Safety. In recognition of her competence in health, safety and engineering, Ita has been a member of the Association of Consulting Forensic Engineers of Ireland (ACFEI) since 2010 - as a member of the ACFEI, Ita conducts accident investigations and provides expert testimony in employer liability and public liability court cases and her specialist areas are ergonomics and slips, trips and falls.
