Lily is a co-founder and senior partner of Lily Fenn & Partners ("LFP"), Solicitors and Notaries, in Hong Kong. With over 40 years of post-qualification experience and expertise gained from private practice in Hong Kong since 1984 and specializing in wide ranging causes of action in civil litigation and international arbitration throughout, Lily is now Head of our Litigation Department.
She is a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong and the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Solicitor and Barrister of the Australian Capital Territory, Solicitor and Advocate of Singapore.
Lily is also one of those very few legal practitioners with rare experience and expertise in handling appeals to the Privy Council and the Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong in complex litigation involving substantial amounts or with great general and public importance, and in significant international arbitrations involving cross-border and multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes. She is a frequent speaker at law seminars and Continuing Professional Development courses accredited by The Law Society of Hong Kong for professional training.
In addition to the law degrees, Lily has completed her Master's degree in Aviation (MAv) which covers International Air and Space Law, Air Safety and Aircraft Accident Investigation, Management of Aviation Regulatory and Safety Systems, Aviation Strategic Management, Aviation Research Methods, Human Factors for Professional Aviation and the like.
Given her knowledge and experience in aviation since 1995, Lily provides professional legal advice and services in handling applications for scheduled flight route licensing and applications to the civil aviation regulatory body in Hong Kong for Air Operator's Certificate and all related regulations and requirements, sale and purchase of aircraft, aircraft financing and leasing, registration, security and enforcement, aircraft accident investigation, aviation offences, aviation related claims and Court proceedings.
Elaine is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in Canada and the Law Faculty of the University of Hong Kong. She is first qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1984 and has over 26 years post-qualification experience gained from private practice in Hong Kong.
She has been involved in general areas of law including but not limited to conveyancing, tenancy, trust formation and administration, law of succession and probate practice, banking and commercial law, family law, employment law and contracts, Employee Handbooks/Manuals.
Elaine advises on the formation and administration of trusts and foundations, drafting of letter of wishes, and setting up charities.
Elaine is a co-author of the 2020 Edition of the e-book entitled "Doing Business in Hong Kong and Investing in Mainland China" published by our firm in March 2020.
Eric studied law, political sciences and languages. He began his legal career as an academic in various Universities in Paris, France (Universities Pantheon Sorbonne, Paris Jussieu, Paris Nanterre and in Norway (Oslo University). In 1993 he was appointed member of the board of the prestigious University Pantheon Assas.
His teaching was mainly about International law and English Legal Terminology, whereas his researches dealt with international human rights and the status of aliens. From 1980 to 1983 he was Director of Studies with UNESCO and lead a major study on the status of migrants in Europe.
Eric founded his law firm in 1983 and was associated for many years with a Norwegian law firm. He then specialized in the oil industry and finance, advising many large corporations in these areas.
In 1986 he co-founded the Euro American Lawyers Group, a grouping of law firms in more than 25 countries, which he is today presiding over.
