Alan joins LMC as a Senior Tax Manager, serving clients across the Legal & Professional Services and Artists Industries. Alan graduated Brooklyn College in 1989 while working full time and attending college full time in the evenings. Alan started his career with a small firm in New York City as a general accountant, in which he gained experience in many industries, learning how to prepare financial statements and tax services.
Alan later joined one of the Big 4 accounting firms to concentrate and specialize in tax, in which subsequently he joined a Top Ten National accounting firm as a Senior Manager in their High-Net-Worth division.
Alan is the founder Asian American Youth Center (AAYC). AAYC provides children with the resources for children to participate in various athletic and educational programs, where children learn how to be ultraistic and learn to give back to future generations.

Ali Basrai comes to LMC with an extensive background in all disciplines of marketing, social media and content creation, as well as graphic design. As a Marketing Associate, he is responsible for helping to develop fully integrated marketing and advertising initiatives for the firm. He is also involved in working with agency partners to update LMC's overall branding that will be an integral part of future email marketing campaigns, social media, business presentations, and promotional collateral.
With the transformation of the LMC image, Ali is focusing on the positive impact it will have for the company as well as the ability to lure in potential clients to help ensure LMC's long-standing success within the industry.

Bianka brings to LMC her diverse background and experience. Raised in Albania, she graduated the University of Tirana and then worked at the Albanian parliament before moving to New York City in 2016. After working at other CPA firms, Bianka joined LMC in 2019 in the audit and assurance department.
Bianka is responsible for preparing audited, reviewed and compiled financial statement for various clients. Her clients include those in the consumer products, professional services, not for profit, real estate, and retail industries. Bianka enjoys the collaborative work environment at LMC and is motivated to succeed by going above and beyond for her clients. She is a firm believer in creating positive work relationships and gaining her clients trust by helping to solve issues they may have.
Outside of the office Bianka enjoys traveling, reading, yoga and listening to music.

As LMC's Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Brandon brings to the firm more than 11 years of professional Human Resources experience, specifically in the accounting industry. Brandon leads the HR department and works closely with the firm's partners and the management team to create and implement all of the firm's HR policies.
Brandon's impressive professional background gives him the expertise to plan, lead, develop and manage the firm's HR policies and initiatives, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations and retention. Brandon's novel strategies have created innovative and positive changes to the culture of the firm.
Outside of the office, Brandon enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and two dogs.

After beginning his journey with a few smaller firms in the city, Chris Cheng was eventually recruited by LMC in November of 2017. With over ten years of tax and accounting experience in preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, Chris has been an invaluable asset when it comes to helping clients see the big picture in terms of their tax obligations. He is also actively involved in ensuring they make the necessary moves to mitigate their tax liabilities by the year's end. Currently, Chris's areas of expertise include real estate, wholesale, manufacturing and distribution, music and entertainment, and professional services.

Christina brings over 20 years of expertise in the financial services and accounting industry, as a LMC Tax Manager. Prior to LMC, Christina was a Tax Manager at SS&C Private Equity Services, in which she was responsible for managing and providing tax services to private equity funds, specializing in Fund of Funds. She has a diverse background in Private Equity, Hedge Fund and Mutual Fund tax and accounting reporting with expertise in Fund of Funds tax preparation and multi-state return prep.
Christina's main responsibilities include reviewing client's books, and the review and preparation of corporate, partnerships and personal tax returns. She primarily works with clients in the Real estate and Retail industries. Christina prides herself in maintaining and building relationships with her clients, and is passionate about providing excellent client service and developing trust.
Christina enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and extended family as they enjoy planning BBQ's and going swimming.
Christopher Kotan has 25 plus years of tax experience as LMC's Principal. His vital role for the firm focuses on working closely with a number of high-net-worth individuals and their family-run businesses, as well as providing tax services to several others.
His industry specialties span multiple areas that include but are not limited to wholesale, retail, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, apparel, art, and professional services. Christopher currently resides in Queens and loves spending time with his wife and son.

David J. Neuman is an attorney for LMC, with over a decade of experience specializing in tax law. He advises clients on a broad range of tax matters, including corporate formation and operations, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and spin-offs, executive and deferred compensation agreements, and tax exemption of not-for-profit organizations. He has proven to be integral in the areas of research and legal analysis of issues that arise on a daily basis, dealing with structuring transactions for clients in the most tax-efficient manner along with preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
David is also dedicated to helping clients solve any IRS or state controversy issues. He is actively involved with representing individuals and businesses in all areas of tax controversy before the IRS and state taxing authorities-from pre-dispute (voluntary disclosures and Pre-Filing Agreements), through the examination, appeals, and post-appeals dispute resolution phases that include federal income tax and employment tax examinations, New York/New Jersey state residency, sales and use tax, plus highway use tax examinations.
Prior to joining LMC, David worked at big law and accounting firms and served as a trial attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. It was there he litigated and advised the government regarding issues of individual, partnership, corporate tax matters, US taxpayers with undisclosed offshore bank accounts, and other assets.
When not servicing his clients, David enjoys seeing live music (especially jam bands), sports, and spending time with my family.
Dayna is a dedicated and seasoned tax professional, who diligently provides exceptional support to her clients. She has over a decade of vast accounting experience.
Dayna is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals. Dayna enjoys building positive relationships with her clients, and cultivating their trust as a tax advisor. Her focus as a tax professional includes the wholesale, retail, real estate and legal and professional services industries.

As the firm's CTO, Dmitriy brings more than 20 years of professional experience in Information Technology (IT). Dmitriy leverages his specialized knowledge of IT, web development and network administration, along with extensive career experience in the accounting industry, to assist the firm's executive team in making key decisions that affect day-to-day operations.
Dmitriy's responsibilities span virtually every aspect of the firm's use of hardware and software, as well as the planning and management of the firm's infrastructure. In addition, he monitors the firm's IT processes. Dmitriy's duties include assessing, implementing and discontinuing various technology strategies and platforms, ensuring the firm's systems are state of the art and conform to strict security standards.
Dmitriy is fluent in English and Russian. Dmitriy enjoys exercising, various outdoors activities, and spending time with his family.

With over a decade of public accounting experience, Eli Zahab joined LMC in its early beginnings back in 2010. As a Tax Manager, his primary areas of focus are reviewing client's books and records as well as the preparation of corporate, partnership, trusts, and personal tax returns.
His expertise spans multiple industries, including but not limited to wholesale, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, and professional services. Eli has always gone the extra mile when it comes to providing extra care and attention to all his client's accounting needs.

Ephraim Fishman brings over 30 years of accounting experience in both public accounting firms and private industry and is a partner at LMC.

Ephraim works closely with businesses, providing audit, tax and accounting services, and ensuring proper tax planning to maximize savings. He prepares forecasts and projections and assists companies in achieving their strategic objectives by increasing efficiencies and enhancing profitability. Ephraim also excels in helping clients in obtaining financing and works with entrepreneurial business owners to identify new business opportunities within the importing, distributing, manufacturing, financial, real estate, and not-for-profit industries.

Faina currently lives in Manhattan with her husband. She has a passion for traveling abroad and experiencing different cultures, foods, history, and the arts.

Frank brings over 9 years of extensive professional accounting experience and joined LMC's Audit and Assurance department in the beginning of 2019 as a Staff Accountant. Frank is a hardworking accounting professional and now as LMC's Audit and Assurance Supervisor, Frank manages a larger role in helping clients reach their solutions.
Frank is responsible for the preparation of Audited, Reviewed, and Compiled Financial Statements and providing professional accounting services. He takes pride in helping clients reach their financial goals and being their go-to problem solver. It's rewarding for Frank to provide clients new opportunities that add value to their business and build efficiency in their business operations.

Fred Slomovic brings to the table over thirty years of tax experience that includes compliance, tax planning, and tax audits. Gary has been with the LMC team since 2015 and has played a critical role in a wide array of areas within our tax department. Gary has been primarily working closely with business owners and high net worth individuals to ensure proper tax structure and tax savings plans have been implemented. He is responsible for reviewing Corporate, Partnership, Trusts and personal income tax returns.
Gary is also responsible for giving tax update presentations to various organizations, so they can stay on top of the ever-changing tax code.

After working in a variety of industries, from not for profit to financial services, Gus joined LMC's audit and assurance department in 2019. As a supervisor, his responsibilities include conducting audits, reviews and compilations and preparing financial statements. Gus also is crucial in mentoring staff accountants and interns.
Gus is passionate about helping people, which motivates him to support the variety of LMC clients he is involved with, and to assist them in reaching their financial goals. Gus focuses on clients in a variety of industries including art galleries, consumer products, not for profit and retail. He enjoys the team collaboration and work culture within the firm and the open interaction between his peers and management.
Gus enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, and spending time with friends and family. He is a member of LMC's event planning committee and has helped lead and organize multiple firm events.
With almost four decades of public accounting experience, Howard Simon has become one of LMC's most well-respected Tax Supervisors. He is responsible for ensuring LMC's tax returns are prepared and reviewed in accordance with the highest tax industry standards.
His career has spanned various areas of expertise that include but are not limited to medical fields, wholesale, manufacturing, real estate, and professional services.
Howard currently lives in Oceanside, New York, with his wife and son. He enjoys gardening, exercising, home improvements, and relaxing at the beach whenever possible.
Jack Naftali is a CPA and has been practicing public accounting since 2005. He prepares and reviews Federal and State income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts to ensure tax compliance for his clients in industries such as manufacturing, real estate, and investments. Jack also has experience in tax planning for individuals.
As one of the members of the LMC high net worth client team, Jack works closely with the individuals and their advisors.
Jim joined LMC in 2018 with over 30 years of professional experience in both small and large accounting firms providing services in the apparel, art gallery and artists, real estate, hospitality, and not-for-profit industries that included the preparation of business and individual tax returns. He brings to the table a comprehensive understanding of financial statements analysis for preparation of returns, workpaper preparation, and leveraging the latest technologies to enable prep work that is more efficient while providing the utmost clarity.
As an Accounting Manager/Controller in the hospitality industry, Jim has acquired a vast wealth of knowledge, enabling him to provide superior service in a wide variety of tax and business consulting services. He currently handles a robust client roster within industries that include apparel, real estate, art galleries and artists, hospitality, and not-for-profit initiatives.
Jim currently resides in New Jersey and loves spending time with his wife and son. He is also an avid fan of hard rock, the Mets, Jets, and Seton Hall Basketball.

Jeffrey has been with LMC since its inception. He brings to the table his knowledge of a wide range of tax topics that include types of entities, industries, and taxing jurisdictions. Jeffrey has the uncanny ability to translate complex tax concepts to be easily understandable by his staff and clients.
As a Tax Generalist, Jeffrey is deeply familiar with all types of returns and deals with a variety of industries that include wholesale and real estate. Jeffrey has previously worked at CPA firms large and small (including Coopers & Lybrand, J.H. Cohn, and Joseph R. Bedya). He has held positions in industry and in tax software development. Jeffrey graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Management and has done graduate tax work at Baruch University.
Jeffrey lives in Manhattan with his wife, Nancy. He enjoys long walks with his Cavapoo, Chloe, doing the crossword, and is a lifelong Mets fan.
Upon joining LMC in November of 2018 as a Tax Manager, Jonathan has right away proven his expertise in adapting quickly to challenges and seamless communicating with his clients. Jonathan's focus is establishing industry-specific tax strategies to minimize business level as well as personal income taxes to provide increased cash flow for his clients.
Prior to life at LMC, Jonathan has had a decade of providing tax planning and tax compliance services experience with clients of closely held businesses across a wide range of industries with a concentration in real estate.
Aside from his financial life, Jonathan enjoys time spent with his family and reading.

As the Managing Partner at LMCAS, Lee Hamway brings over two decades of experience financing acquisitions and refinancing properties. Focusing on servicing the real estate industry, Lee relishes the challenge of structuring financing that solves multiple issues at once and closing those seemingly impossible loans.

Lee graduated from New York University in 1993 with a degree in accounting. Upon graduation, he worked as a controller for a chain of retail stores where he gained invaluable business experience, which continues to help our clients because Lee understands what it means to be a business owner, not just an outsider looking in.
Lee began building his practice in 1995 while maintaining jobs at two accounting firms, where he became certified in 1999.
In 1999 he joined a mid-sized accounting firm as a partner, where he opened and successfully ran the New York City office of the firm. During that time, Lee gained experience in various industries doing financial statements, tax preparation, and other traditional accounting services. In 2006 he joined another mid-sized firm in New York City, where he was a prominent partner for four years until he ventured out on his own to start L.M. Cohen & Co.
Lee is actively involved in his community, formerly serving as President of Sephardic Bikur Holim (SBH) from 2013 to 2017, one of the largest social services agencies in Brooklyn. Lee remains on Board of Directors for SBH. Lee is the treasurer of the Jewish Communal Fund (JCF) and chair of its audit committee.
Lee was named a Crain's New York Business 2022 Notable Leader in Accounting & Consulting. Lee was honored by the NYSSCPA in 2022, for the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award recognizes CPAs who have a demonstrated history of public service and volunteerism for a charitable, community or civic organization.
Lee lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.
Lucille brings over 20 years of tax experience with a focus on Trusts and Estates. Lucille oversees the wealth management and estate planning for a number of LMC clients. Her responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, tax compliance and coordinating between financial professionals and attorneys to create estate plans that will minimize tax liability for the next generation.
Lucille is motivated to provide expert financial guidance to her clients. She believes it's important to provide advice to families, who seek trusted assistance in their estate and succession planning.
Family is important to Lucille, as her favorite hobby is spending quality time with friends and family.
I enjoy the interaction between the law, the tax code and family circumstances in order to find the right and distinct solution for each particular situation. I also appreciate the challenges that I am faced with, and that there is never a dull moment.

Since joining LMC, Maritza has been responsible for overseeing the Account Services Department and the high net worth client team. Matthew comes to LMC with a strong background in finance and entertainment. As the controller for LMC, Matthew focuses on monitoring the financial health of the company, which involves business and financial analysis, data analytics, as well as assisting with family office services, management services, and a variety of strategic initiatives for the firm.
Matthew's previous professional experience includes a tenure at Citibank in residential real estate and four years at Live Nation Entertainment overseeing operations, logistics, client relations for premium offerings, and various efficiency implementation projects. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Matthew co-founded, developed, and scaled a first-of-its-kind interactive virtual entertainment platform, called Broadway Whodunit, which has grown exponentially. Matthew prides himself in bringing a creative, entrepreneurial, and collaborative framework to all his projects and initiatives.
Matthew utilizes his experience in relationship management and financial operations to drive solutions for both clients and LMC. He is equipped with the necessary tools to analyze, evaluate, and execute financial decisions in a dynamic business environment.

Michael Kanjo has over 20 years of public accounting experience providing accounting and assurance services, resulting in trusted relationships with his clients, including the preparation of audited and reviewed financial statements. His expertise includes all phases of accounting and auditing, including planning, fieldwork, review, and supervision of many clients.
Michael's industry specialties focus on apparel, wholesale, manufacturing and distribution, consumer products, not-for-profits, employee benefit plans, and investment companies. He is also deeply involved in the firm's not-for-profits and employee benefit plans audit practices.

As the accounting and audit partner at LMC, Michael Young offers over two decades of accomplished public accounting experience. Michael is the leader of the firm's art galleries and artist practice and is well-versed in providing accounting, tax planning and consulting services.
Michael's career has spanned multiple industries, including but not limited to art galleries and artists, real estate and construction, apparel and accessories, food and beverage, private equity funds, technology, financing companies, wholesalers, retailers, manufacturing and distribution.
In addition to English, Michael is fluent in Chinese Mandarin. When outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters in their Long Island home.

With a significant procedural background, he also leads the development and implementation of procedures for financial reporting and internal controls. His accomplished background in public and private sector accounting has allowed him to dedicate time to servicing all LMC customers with the utmost attention to detail.
Moussa is a frequent blogger and a thought leader on the development of financial outsourcing.
With 20 years of public accounting experience, Nick Grgas provides quality assurance and consulting services to his clients-including preparation of audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements. He takes pride in being one of the first calls his clients make to discuss and understand challenges they face on a day-to-day basis.
With his mission being focused on the welfare of his clients, Nick has helped them make the right decisions to ensure the best possible outcomes for their financial futures. Ovadia has been a valued team member of LMC since he began as an audit intern in 2015. Since that time, he has become a critical component of the audit and assurance department. Ovadia prepares audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements. Ovadia works diligently to solve client problems, and helps them to succeed by focusing on any issues that might arise and assisting in determining best practices to arrive at sound resolutions.
As a supervisor, Ovadia manages client relationships and provides direct supervision to staff and senior accountants. Ovadia serves clients in a variety of industries, including artists, construction, consumer products, not for profits, real estate and retail.
Ovadia lives in Manhattan and loves music. He plays the bass and attends up to 30 concerts a year!

Since 1984, Robert Vandewater, CPA, has been practicing in public accounting-providing quality assurance and consulting services to his clients. His experiences include all levels of accounting and auditing in the areas of planning, fieldwork, review, and supervision of many clients in various industries.
His industries of focus include apparel, consumer products, art galleries, and investment companies. Robert also specializes in preparing various types of tax returns and is deeply involved in tax planning with his clients. Robert also assists in the firm's employee benefit plans and audit practice.
When not at the office, Robert enjoys playing sports, spending time on the beach, and keeping up with the stock market trends.

Thomas Procida, CPA, is a partner and leader of LMC's audit department, with over 20 years of public accounting experience. Thomas currently lives in Staten Island with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching both of his children's football teams and playing golf during his free time.
