Alex M. Chazen

Alex Chazen is a partner with Lorber, Greenfield & Polito, LLP and is licensed in California and Texas. His practice is centered around construction and real estate law and he has represented all sides of these types of disputes, including developers, general contractors, trade contractors, owners, and buyers. Mr. Chazen works with his clients at all stages of a project, from site planning and the drafting of contract and project documents through actual construction, the sales process, and litigation that often arises during and after the construction phase. He also works with his clients to develop risk management strategy, business and project planning, and dispute resolution prior to the initiation of litigation. Mr. Chazen is Chair-Elect of the OCBA Construction Section and the co-education chair of the CLM Board (Orange County Chapter). He was the winner of the 2020 CLM Professional of the Year - Young Outside Counsel. He has been published and also been featured in CLM Construction Claims and CLM Magazine, and was trusted to be the author of CLM's California Construction Claims Resources Wiki. Mr. Chazen has also been published in the ABA Construction Section's magazine, Under Construction, and is a monthly legal columnist in the Bay Window Magazine. Mr. Chazen graduated from the University of California at Irvine and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While at Loyola, Mr. Chazen was an Associate Justice on the Scott Moot Court Honors Board, as well as a student attorney in the Loyola Law School Tax Appeals Assistance Program. Mr. Chazen also worked as a volunteer law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in Central Trials.

Dominique C. Oliver is an associate in the Albuquerque office of Lorber, Greenfield, and Polito, LLP. Dominique is originally from Oakland, California and has been living in New Mexico since 2011. Dominique has dedicated her practice to civil defense since graduating from law school. Prior to working at Lorber, Greenfield, and Polito, Dominique worked at a national top rated civil defense firm where she won several dispositive motions in state court and obtained highly favorable outcomes for clients through formal and informal alternative dispute resolution. Dominique's practice centers around defending businesses, corporations, and individuals in high exposure cases. Her practices areas include: insurance defense, construction defects, personal injury, premises liability, consumer claims, contract disputes, real estate, professional liability, dram shop claims, wrongful death litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Dominique graduated from the American Military University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies after earning an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from the Community College of the Air Force in 2013. She completed 11 years of proud service for the United States Air Force before attending law school at the University of New Mexico School of Law, graduating in 2019. Upon graduation, Dominique earned a Certificate of Concentration in Indian Law and received the Mary Beth and W. Richard West, Jr. Award recognizing excellence in Indian Law. Emmett Seltzer is a partner at Lorber, Greenfield & Polito and works out of the San Francisco office. Mr. Seltzer's practice centers on defense of developers and general contractors in complex civil litigation, construction defect, general liability and insurance defense matters. He has handled cases involving various types of construction including high-end custom homes, mixed used developments, commercial, and tract homes. Mr. Seltzer has personally handled two complex construction defect claims through arbitration. Additionally, Mr. Seltzer also handles personal injury, including construction accidents, and products liability matters. In 2021 Mr. Seltzer prevailed on a motion for summary judgment on a multi-million-dollar claim involving an attack on a subcontractor employee at a construction site arguing that the general contractor did not have liability based on the "Privette" doctrine. Mr. Seltzer also handles general liability matters including premises liability and fire cases. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Seltzer was a teacher in Southern California. He lives in Alameda with his wife, daughter and son. He enjoys cycling, playing guitar, skiing, watching baseball, and cooking.
