Alex Waddington, Accountant, began her career at Loggins Kern & McCombs in December 2014 as a part-time/seasonal intern, while attending college at the University of North Georgia where she received her Bachelors of Accounting in December 2018. Alex is actively pursuing her goal to become a Certified Public Accountant. She currently resides in McDonough with her husband Chris and three-year-old Jack Russel/Corgi, Rebel. Ben R. Loggins, CPA is a native of East Point, Georgia. He and his wife, Theresa, have made their home in the area since 1984. He received his BBA and MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Ben also served with the Internal Revenue Service as an agent and instructor for over six years. In addition, he spent over two years with an International Accounting Firm before coming to Jonesboro to form an accounting firm in 1980. His firm, Loggins and Associates P.C., has grown to 15 employees.
Some of Ben's activities have included teaching a course on Accounting and QuickBooks at Clayton State College, Treasurer of Clayton County Rotary Club, Director of Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation, Director of Clayton Community Foundation, Treasurer for the Georgia Figure Skating Club, Member of the Governing Council and Finance Committee of the US Figure Skating Association, Treasurer for the Clayton County Olympic Committee, Executive Director of Atlanta Alumni of Revenue Agents, Director of Bay View Homeowner's Association, and member of both the American Institute of CPAs and Georgia Society of CPAs. In addition, Ben has presented numerous tax planning seminars in the metropolitan area.
Brandy M. Hatfield, CPA, is a native of Rex, Georgia. She lives in McDonough with her husband, James and sons, Deacon and Kingston. She received her BBA in Accounting from Clayton State University in 2007, and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Brandy has been with the firm since 2005.
Dianne Hull, Accountant, has been working with Ben Loggins since May 1985. Dianne has extensive experience with sales tax and tax returns for multi-state businesses and has been working with QuickBooks since the late 90s. Dianne grew up and graduated in Clayton County. She is involved in various ministries at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Dianne lives in Hampton.
Partners Miranda Kern and Gina McCombs joined founding partner, Ben Loggins in 2013 to form Loggins Kern & McCombs CPAs PC. "Both Miranda and Gina have been involved in the firm's strategic planning and decision making for some time now", commented founding partner Ben Loggins. "They have been instrumental in guiding the day-to-day operations of the firm, and I am thrilled to recognize their contributions in a more formal way by making them partners and adding them to the name of the firm." Partners Brandy Hatfield and Kim Fourman were added as partners in 2020.
Gina W. McCombs, CPA, is a native of Richmond, Kentucky. She moved to Clayton County in 1982 and resides in Jonesboro with her husband, Jon, and son, Christopher. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, and she received her BBA from West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia in 1984. She is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Gina is a graduate of Leadership Clayton and has served on the Board of Directors of A+ for Clayton County. Gina has been associated with Ben Loggins since 1985 and a partner in the firm since 2013.
Jessica Mask, Accountant, joined the company in October 2018. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. She lives in Fayetteville with her husband and daughter.
Judy Law, Accountant, joined the company in January 2005. Judy is one of our more experienced QuickBooks professionals. She lives in McDonough with her husband Randy and dog Rusty. Michel Bell, Accountant, received her Bachelor's in Accounting from Georgia State University in 2016 and earned her Master's in Taxation from Georgia State in December, before joining the firm in 2019. She is currently studying for the CPA exam and enjoys researching tax law and cases.
In Michel's spare time she can usually be found spending time on the lake with friends and family, golfing, or having a taco salad at Ranchero.
Michelle Smith, Accountant, joined the firm in February 2010. Michelle serves a dual role within the company supporting both the accounting and administrative groups. She has over 20 years of QuickBooks experience as well as 19 years of experience as a small business owner. She has quickly proven her strengths and has become a very valuable member of the firm. Michelle and her husband, Sam, reside in Monticello. They have three adult children, Sammy, Kayla, and Meghan.
Miranda R. Kern, CPA, is a native of Stockbridge, Georgia. She resides in Stockbridge with her husband, Brian. They have two daughters, Morgan and Sarah, who have both worked in the firm while attending college. She received her BBA from The University of Georgia in December 1982. She is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Miranda has been associated with Ben Loggins since 1981 and a partner in the firm since 2013.
Pam Burnett wears many hats here at LKM. She specializes in Accounts Receivables, Marketing, and assisting the firm's Senior Partner, Ben Loggins. A very proud mom to her one and only son who is an athlete at LSU. She has a banking and A/R background. She started with the firm in November 2012.
Sarah Kern is the daughter of partner Miranda Kern. She is a Senior at UGA working towards her Bachelor's in Financial Planning along with minors in Consumer Economics and Housing Management. She started working at the firm in January of 2015 and has held many different tasks around the office such as scanner, receptionist, and has analyzed data in Excel sheets and QuickBooks.
Shavon Campbell, Accountant, has been working with Loggins Kern & McCombs since January 2015. She has over six years of bookkeeping experience and sales tax experience. She graduated from Clayton State University with a Bachelor of Accounting in 2017. She earned her QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification in 2015. Shavon grew up in Clayton County and currently resides in Jackson.
Sheila Rickard, Accountant, joined the company in October 2000. Sheila has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2007. In 2013, she earned Advanced ProAdvisor certification as well as adding the certification for QuickBooks Online. Sheila resides in Fayetteville with her husband, Steve. They have two adult daughters, Molly and Melissa.
