Andrew Sims

Andrew joined Madison Chemical as a Technical Representative in 2010 after graduating from Hanover College with a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science. After some time spent in Law Enforcement, he rejoined Madison Chemical as a Technical Support Representative before being promoted to Technical Support Manager in 2015. The following year Andrew moved to San Diego, CA for two years to help grow Madison Chemical's sales efforts in Southern California. In July of 2018, he was promoted to the role of Sales Manager and moved back to the home office in Madison, IN where he has been tasked with helping to grow our overall sales.

Bill Torline

Bill joined Madison Chemical in 1987 after receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. His duties originated in the laboratory, supporting product development and technical product support in the field. Bill led Madison Chemical's engineering and technical support group, and he received a patent for a Bilge Water Oil Recovery system design, which led to capturing millions of gallons of oil recovered for conversion to fuel. His involvement with customers and knowledge of their systems and equipment needs served as a foundation when he became Madison Chemical's Sales Manager. In 2011, Bill received his MBA to further support Madison Chemical's effort of supporting our customer base and improving their operations. In 2017, Bill entered into the role of Vice President/Chief Operating Officer where he oversees daily operations of the company.

David R. (Dick) Goodman - Chairman, President

Dick became President in 1984, directing all day-to-day operations of Madison Chemical Co., Inc. and its affiliates. He received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1972. Dick worked in production and maintenance during school vacations. After serving in the Air Force, he joined Madison Chemical in 1975. He worked in the lab for 18 months and as Operations Manager the next 18 months. He then spent time in sales and purchasing. Dick's degree and experience allow him to remain involved with R&D, buying strategies, and customer service. David joined Madison Chemical in 2017 from Cooper Carry Architects. His duties include overseeing the organization's internal and external operations, production process, and managing capital projects. David's training in project management helps the company keep a focus on its long-term goals. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2006 with a Master's Degree in Architecture.

Dr. Steven Preece - CTO

Dr. Preece was educated in the United Kingdom, receiving a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southampton in 1996. He worked as a research chemist for Kidde in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States in 2008. Since then, he worked for United Technologies and Process Research Products prior to joining Madison Chemical in 2015. Dr. Preece's focus areas are product development and technical support, regulatory compliance, quality systems and environmental management. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a certified ISO 9001/14001:2015 internal auditor.

Joe Todd

  • Director of Accounting
Joe joined Madison Chemical as an Accounting Specialist in 2013 and became Director of Accounting in 2019. Shortly before joining Madison Chemical, Joe graduated from Hanover College as a member of the Business Scholars Program and obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Joe's primary duties include working closely with ownership to oversee and perform the company's financial activities and reporting. Joe also manages IT, as well as assisting in benefits administration and payroll.

Larissa Perry - CHRO

Larissa joined Madison Chemical in 2008 as an Executive Adminstrative Assistant in the Admin Support Department and became the Director of Human Resources in 2015. She supports Madison Chemical in a variety of tasks, including hiring for all positions within the organization, organizational training and development, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, policy review and compliance. An advocate of the company's vision, she serves to enrich the strength and performance of the organization through the management of human capital. Larissa earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and actively participates as a member of the Human Resource Association of Southern IN & Northern KY. She joined the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 2015 and earned her SHRM Certified Professional certification in 2017.

Mandi Schmidt

Mandi serves as the Purchasing Director for Madison Chemical Company. Mandi joined the MCC Team in 2016 in the Administrative Support Department before transitioning into Purchasing. She continually works to develop and direct all purchasing policies and processes. Mandi is committed to identifying areas of inefficiencies by performing tasks such as vendor quality reviews, inventory management, and cost analysis. Prior to joining Madison Chemical, Mandi previously worked in Risk Management and Human Resources. Mandi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and is a member of the American Purchasing Society.

Michael Drake - CEO

Michael serves as Chief Executive Officer at Madison Chemical, where he focuses on driving the company's strategic initiatives and strengthening Madison's customer partnerships. Michael brings over two decades of investment banking, corporate finance, and capital allocation experience to his role as CEO. Prior to joining Madison in 2018, Michael held a variety of senior leadership roles at financial institutions in London and in Continental Europe, investing on behalf of large institutional clients and private equity firms. He started his career in the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan in New York, in the private equity coverage group. Throughout his career, Michael has enjoyed working with innovative, entrepreneurial companies at the forefront of solving complex problems and delighting their customers. He feels privileged to do this every day in his role at Madison. Michael graduated from Brown University with a degree in History and attended the London School of Economics as a General Course Student. He is an avid skier and hiker, but as yet an unsuccessful dog trainer (much to the frustration of his family).

Mike Craig

Mike joined Madison Chemical as Sales Director - Food Division in January 2000. He has spent more than 25 years in the Processed Food industry with responsibilities, which included Vice President of Sales, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Vice President of Manufacturing. Working closely with our entire management team, Mike coordinates sales, operations, and our various support services. He received his education at Indiana State University. Mike is past president of Mid-America Food Processors and a member of the Guard Society.
