Not having the talent to be a plumber, but having the marks (and then some) to be a lawyer, Brent Mainwood has been practicing law for over 35 years…and is still driven to help and work with people every single day.
After 19 years of practicing law at a downtown Calgary firm, Brent ventured into his own sole practitioner venture, Mainwood Legal, in 2000. Since then, he has grown Mainwood Legal into a team of full time lawyers and support staff.
Starting Mainwood Legal as a way to work closer with people instead of large corporations, Brent brings his knowledge, experience - including his qualifications as a professional mediator - and empathetic personality to each case and individual. He works to remove stress, explain details, and guide clients, ensuring that all know what is expected and when, saving them time and money, particularly within the fields of Real Estate Transactions. He has worked hard to build a practice that welcomes clients - and their families - instilling them with confidence that Brent, along with the entire team at Mainwood Legal, is on their side, looking after their needs.

Heather Tyminski was born and raised in Alberta, though she proudly admits to living in Winnipeg for 8 years. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in English with First Class Honours at the University of Calgary, she obtained a Master of Arts in English from the University of Alberta, and then her law degree from the University of Calgary. During her second year of law school, Heather worked in a major oil and gas company's legal department, and she subsequently completed her articles at a top-tier law firm in Calgary.
Heather practices in the areas of employment law, family law, and wills and estates. In practicing family law and employment law, Heather takes a client-centered approach that allows her clients to make informed decisions. She has advised both employers and employees on terminating employees and severance, human rights issues, and occupational health and safety matters. She has similarly advised men and women (whether or not they have children) on their rights and responsibilities in separating or seeking a divorce.
