Prior to joining Matthews Custom Built Homes, Jon attended NC State University - Raleigh, and University of Montana - Bozeman. Beginning as an apprentice contractor, he has learned general contracting from the ground up. He has worked in the construction industry through the years and also worked alongside the professional tradesmen of Matthews Custom Built Homes. His years of experience and dedication to the industry have made him an integral part of the company as a project supervisor. His presence on the jobsites, working with the journey men and subcontractors, enables the company to create a product that meets high corporate standards. Jon insures that each project is managed with the quality and precision that Matthews customers expect and deserve.
Matthews Custom Built Homes is owned and operated by Mike Matthews and his son, Jonathan. Together they build homes that are creative in design, thoughtfully constructed, and built to conserve energy and natural resources.

Syd has been with Matthews Custom Built Homes since October 2006. He is a Veteran of the US Navy after serving for 21 years and ended his military career as an Aircraft Maintenance Chief. He was also the owner of a residential contracting business that gave him a hands-on knowledge of custom home building. Syd is an onsite supervisor and is responsible for the scheduling and supervision of our subcontractors and journeymen. His many years of experience keep our projects running smoothly and on time while insuring that our high standards of quality are met. Syd brings with him an enthusiasm and energy that makes our jobs efficient and pleasant for all involved.
