Mangere Bridge has a strong community with several organisations and clubs. (see 'Things to Do' and 'What's On'). Volunteers maintain the colourful hanging baskets in the main street and many also give a few hours of their time to help in the community constable's office and/or take turns running the community volunteer patrol vehicle.
