Ann Reckelhoff

Ann Reckelhoff joined Marquette in 2011 and is currently the Director of Development. In her role, Ann is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of new multifamily developments in the northern half of the United States. Ann plays an important role in all aspects of the project including branding & design, construction management, hiring, and operations. Ann is also responsible for the management and lease-up of new multifamily developments until they are stabilized above 90% occupancy. Ann held several roles at Marquette prior to her current, including property manager, regional manager, and learning & development coordinator. She is committed to hiring and training highly skilled, well-rounded individuals, and remains focused on proving a strong first impression through outstanding curb appeal and consistent merchandising at all assets. Ann holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University.

Bryan Berkey

Bryan Berkey serves as Marquette's Managing Director of Acquisitions. He joined Marquette in 2009 and has acquired approximately $2.0 billion (over 13,000 units) of multifamily real estate through institutional joint ventures. He oversees the sourcing and underwriting of acquisition opportunities, debt and equity sourcing/structuring, contract negotiations, due diligence and closings. In addition to managing all facets of Marquette's acquisition strategy, he continues to explore value-add and core-plus acquisition opportunities across Marquette's Midwest and Southwest target markets. Bryan holds a Finance degree from Indiana University at Bloomington and a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Bryan Bernicky

Bryan Bernicky is the Director of IT at Marquette Management with over 30 years of experience in the field. He has been leading the company's IT operations for over two decades, building a reputation as a skilled problem solver with expertise in Microsoft technologies. Prior to joining Marquette, he held leadership roles in the automotive and electronics manufacturing sector. As Director of IT, he is responsible for managing the company's IT systems, infrastructure and services, and is a key member of the leadership team. He has been recognized for his technical expertise, collaboration skills and passion for staying up to date with the latest technologies. Bryan has a BA from Columbia College Chicago.

Chris Yuko

Chris Yuko is the Managing Director of Development - Southern Region at Marquette Companies. He has been with the company for 4 years and has 22 years of experience in development. In his role at Marquette, Chris is responsible for directing and overseeing development efforts in the Southern Region. He manages the development life cycle from site identification to capitalization, construction, and asset stabilization. Chris has a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Wake Forrest University School of Business. Before joining Marquette, Chris was Principal of Strategy & Operations at Slalom Consulting.

Jack Devedjian

Jack Devedjian brings over three decades of expertise in facilities and capital management to his role as Marquette Companies' Director of Capital Projects & Facilities . With a strong foundation in overseeing capital development and construction projects, Jack's knowledge and experience make him a valuable member of our leadership team. Prior to his role at Marquette, Jack was the Vice President of Facilities Management & Engineering at The Habitat Company, where he directed & managed long-term capital projects averaging $30-$40 million annually. Before that, Jack served as the Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Here, Jack successfully implemented several cost-saving initiatives and oversaw multiple development and expansion projects. He also served as Vice President of Facilities and Engineering at The Tribune Company and managed the facilities for S&C Electric Company. Jack's educational background is equally impressive, with an M.S. in Construction/Project Management from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois. As Marquette Companies' Director of Capital Projects & Facilities, Jack leads all value-add projects, consults with our development team, and provides strategic leadership to our maintenance teams.

James J. Cunningham - COO

James J. Cunningham serves as Marquette's Chief Operating Officer. With a diverse leadership background, and experience in both real estate and hospitality, Jim joined Marquette in 2011 with a focus on maximizing the productivity of existing operations systems. Jim's creative thinking has led to the successful restructuring of the Marquette Management corporate staff, creating new positions to better support the on-site teams. He has also managed the successful implementation of new operations, maintenance, accounting, and marketing systems, with a constant dedication to making Marquette a more efficient workplace. Jim is Marquette's Managing Broker, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Dayton.

Jason Wood

Jason Wood serves as Marquette's Director of Asset Management. He joined Marquette in 2010, and has been intimately involved in acquisitions and asset management throughout his tenure, contributing to over a billion dollars in dispositions of multi-family real estate since mid-2016. He oversees the implementation and execution of the properties' business plans as it relates to pro forma, real estate tax budgeting and appeals, debt refinancing, and dispositions, including contract negotiations, due diligence, and closings. He remains committed to data-driven decision making and is focused on the business planning for Marquette's portfolio. He provides consistency and guidance to Marquette Regional Managers and Property Managers for the successful operation of their assets. Jason holds a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Loyola University Chicago and a Business degree from North Park University.

Jess Shipley is the Transactions Manager at Marquette Companies, where she has worked for the past 11 years. In her role, she coordinates with the Acquisitions team to facilitate a smooth transition of assets from due diligence to closing, and then works with the Asset Management team on dispositions and real estate tax review. Jess has a BS in Business from Western Illinois University and an MBA from Benedictine University. Throughout her tenure at Marquette, Jess has held multiple on-site positions, including Property Manager. Matthew Mehon - CMO

Matthew Mehon serves as Marquette's Director of Marketing. He brings over 11 years of industry experience performing multifamily property takeovers, lease-ups, value-add & repositioning projects. In this role, Matt oversees the overall creation and implementation of marketing strategies, execution of company initiatives, building relationships with vendor partners and providing training and support to the operating platform. Matt particularly enjoys understanding how implementation of new technology & processes can improve the customer experience, make associates more efficient, and create value for investors. Prior to joining Marquette Management, Matthew gained extensive knowledge executing multifamily strategy in relation to marketing, advertising, branding & leasing. Before working in marketing, Matt was an award-winning onsite professional having held several roles at the property level. Matthew holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing & Economics from Illinois State University.

Mindy Helms - CHRO

Mindy Helms is the Director of Human Resources at Marquette Companies with over 26 years of tenure in the field. In her role, she manages company policy in relation to compensation, benefits, and health & safety. She also leads the training and development of corporate and site team associates, as well as oversees employment relations. Mindy is well-versed in accounting, leadership, and Human Resources. Through her extensive experience and education, she plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and success of Marquette Companies and its employees.

Nick Ryan - Chairman, Founder

Nick Ryan serves as Marquette's Executive Chairman. As one of the founding partners, he has been with Marquette since its inception in 1983. With over 40 years of experience in real estate development and investment, Nick has been involved in more than $3 billion in transactions, primarily in the multifamily sector, but also including office, industrial, hotel, retail, student, and senior housing. Nick is a civil engineer by profession, bringing engineering and analytical skills to new acquisitions and developments, but his biggest asset is his commitment to forming win-win relationships with major companies, institutional partners, and clients. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, the National Multi-Family Housing Corporation, and serves as the Board President for the Institute for Community. Nick is a licensed Real Estate Broker and holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Sandy Hohenstein

Sandy Hohenstein serves as Marquette's Vice President of Accounting. With a diverse background in both commercial and residential real estate accounting, she joined Marquette in 1995, and oversees the corporate accounting department as well as a team of 25+ on-site property accountants. She is responsible for the coordination of all financial accounting and reporting, as well as oversight of property level accounting and financial reporting for Marquette's 80+ entities, along with development of strong back office and best practice systems. Most recently, Sandy managed the implementation of a new resident portal and cash management system, as well as a new investor management portal. She partners with the Asset Management team in the management of Marquette's mixed-use Water Street development project. Sandy holds a Business Administration degree from Valparaiso University.

Trevor Ryan

Trevor Ryan serves as Marquette's Chief Financial Officer. With a robust background in real estate appraisal and finance, Trevor joined Marquette in 2004. During his tenure, he has identified and executed many successful acquisitions, dispositions, and new business opportunities. Trevor works to unite the various divisions of Marquette Companies for a more cohesive and efficient organization, with a focus on identifying and financing advantageous investment opportunities and managing seamless individual and portfolio strategy plans. He works closely with Marquette's private capital partners and investors. Trevor is a licensed Real Estate Broker and holds a Business Economics degree from Miami University Ohio.
