Amy Harper joined the personal lines team at Martin Insurance Agency in the Summer of 2008 where she provides administrative support to the department's sales and customer service staff. After nearly a decade living and working as a costume and textile historian in New York City, Amy settled in Lancaster County in 2002 and began her career as an insurance agent. Married to journalist husband, Doug, the two have been blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lily. In her spare time, Amy is a passionate artisan bread baker, knitter, seamstress, and avid figure skater.

Elizabeth is our chief cruncher of numbers. She comes to Martin Insurance with 30 years of bookkeeping experience and takes care of all our bank business, handles accounts payable and receivable, and manages the payroll. And that's just her mornings! In the afternoons, she switches gears and works as administrative support to our commercial lines team. If it's Certificates of Insurance you need, she's your contact. It's Elizabeth's keen eye for detail and her warm, welcoming demeanor that makes her outstanding at what she does, and we are so fortunate to have her as part of our team. Elizabeth is a local girl who was born and raised in Mt. Joy and currently resides in Manheim with her husband and their 5 cats, Bella & Quincy, Stevie & Tommy and Frankie. When not at work, she enjoys cooking, reading, crossword puzzles and "game night" with her husband and friends.

Karen joined Martin Insurance Agency in December 2010. Her position involves servicing clients' group health, ancillary benefits, and Individual health and Medicare supplement policies. She has been certified to work on the PPACA Marketplace since 2014. Karen has 26 years of experience in the group and individual benefits field, with previous tenures in medical and general office administration. Her customers enjoy working with her as an insurance agent because her knowledge and experience enables her to provide them with the best possible service. In her spare time Karen enjoys activities with her family and friends. She cares for a number of rescued animals, including a retired Amish buggy horse. She also enjoys gardening and travel when possible. When conditions allow she hopes to return to singing with a number of local choirs

Having joined the agency in 2017, Melissa has risen quickly in the ranks. She is our chief IT guru and played a key role in the roll-out of our internet phone system in 2019. She also is a member of the personal lines team and provides administrative support to our customer service agents. Born and raised in Lebanon, PA., Melissa spent almost a decade in the Midwest before resettling to Lancaster in 1997. Her background includes 19 years of experience in operations and database management, website administration, new software deployment and end-user training. She is an analytical thinker who especially enjoys helping others in whatever capacity she can. Her interests include beach combing, birding, strength training and running. Her love for food is her best motivation for working out! Melissa loves traveling to tropical places, especially the islands of the Caribbean. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, landscaping and reading up on the latest in computer technology.

Sara Johnstone joined Martin Insurance Agency in January of 2013. She manages the personal lines customer service team in addition to being an agent. She oversees the everyday operations in the personal lines team and and processes endorsements, claims, provides re-quoting, taking payments and answering client insurance questions. Sara is a marvelous team leader who leads by example. And as an agent, she genuinely enjoys her clients and they enjoy the top-notch service she provides. She has over 27 years of experience in the insurance industry and recently achieved her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation. Originally from Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, Sara moved to the Lancaster area in 2006. She says that the most enjoyable part of working in insurance is meeting new people and developing relationships with her customers.

After 30 + years of working in the IT departments of large corporations, Suzanne was happy to find a home in a smaller, more people-oriented setting here at Martin Insurance Agency. She really enjoys interacting with and helping our clients who call or come in to the office. She has a can-do attitude, always with a smile on her face, and is a joy to work with. A native of New York, Suzanne grew up on Long Island, surrounded by the ocean, sound and rivers she loves. In her free time she enjoys sailing, swimming, biking, hiking and taking road trips. She is an avid piano player, and loves attending concerts of all kinds with her family, especially those put on by Millersville University's music department.

Tom Gibble joined Martin Insurance Agency in the Autumn of 2015 as their new marketing manager and personal assistant to then president, Liz Martin. Tom spent his career in marketing and advertising, specializing in brand building & messaging, new product campaigns, and creative art direction. He has worked for ad agencies and both public and private corporations such as Armstrong World Industries in Lancaster, PA, and Migros GB, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Born and raised in Lititz, PA, Tom studied as an AFS exchange student in Germany for one year - where he became fluent in German - before returning to the states to earn degrees in German, Business, and Marketing at ORU in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his spare time, Tom enjoys international travel - especially if it involves exploring parts of the globe that he hasn't been to before. He also has a passion for English Cocker Spaniels, collecting art and rare books, watching independent films, exploring urban landscapes, hiking, swimming, ethnic food, and spending time with his partner.
