Caroline Chambers

Caroline attended the University of Dundee and graduated in 1998 with an LLB (Hons). She then continued her studies at Queen's University, Belfast and obtained an LLM in Human Rights and Discrimination law in 1999. She took up a place at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Belfast and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2002. In 2007, Caroline joined Magennis & Creighton to work in their conveyancing department and became a Partner in 2011. She specialises in many aspects of property matters including the buying and selling of residential property, title issues, mortgage and re-mortgage work and the transfer of equity. Caroline has also extensive experience of commercial property transactions, including the sale and purchase of businesses and commercial property. She has advised in aspects of commercial leasing, acting for various landlords and tenants in the acquisition by them of commercial property. Most recently she has had the opportunity of advising clients in the financing and leasing of a substantial health care facility. Caroline Creighton

Christine attended the University of Ulster at Jordanstown and graduated in 2001 with an LLB (Hons). She then gained valuable experience working for Wilson Nesbitt Solicitors before taking up a place in 2002 at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Belfast and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2004. In 2016 Christine was initially taken on by Magennis and Creighton as a locum solicitor but has since joined the team. She specialises in property matters including the buying and selling of residential property, transfer of equity, and the mortgage and re-mortgage of property. Christine also has extensive experience in Litigation including Personal Injury Claims, Employers and Occupiers Liability, Road traffic Accidents and Medical Negligence. She can also advise regarding entitlement to assistance with legal costs. Christine's office hours are, therefore: Caroline graduated from Queens University with an LLB (Hons) in 1982 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1984 having completed a year in the Institute of Professional and Legal Studies at Queens. She trained and worked at the firm of John Reavey in Rathcoole until she started up the firm of Magennis and Creighton, with Margaret Magennis, in 1996. Caroline specialises in all aspects of Conveyancing including both domestic and commercial transactions. She has experience in dealing with all the parties in the conveyancing process including the Estate Agent, the solicitors representing the parties in the chain and the lending institution. As a firm, Magennis and Creighton are members of the panels of the majority of the banks and building societies being used by house buyers in Northern Ireland and therefore, in any given house or business purchase, Caroline is able to represent the purchaser and the lender in the process. Caroline also deals with private and commercial tenancies and has experience representing both the Landlord and the tenant. Caroline has also dealt with vesting situations to assist parties in obtaining compensation when their land has been vested. She has also been involved in a number of cases involving properties that have become blighted for different reasons and has assisted clients in relation to securing the sale of the property as a result of the blight. Caroline also has extensive experience in the preparation of Wills and the process of obtaining a Grant of Probate and administering an Estate in the event of a death. She has dealt latterly with different aspects of contentious probate work assisting the parties where there has been a question about an entitlement under a Will or where there has been a query as to the financial provision made for a relative or dependant in an Estate situation. Caroline has had the privilege of having lived and worked within the Newtownabbey area for all of her adult life. She has a knowledge and appreciation of the local people and businesses which has been developed over the years of providing legal services, within the office of Magennis and Creighton.

Nicola Lowry

Nicola graduated with an LLB (Hons) from Coventry University in 1995 and continued her studies at the College of Law, Chester, graduating in 1996 and then at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Belfast before being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1999. Nicola joined Magennis & Creighton in 2002 and became a Partner in 2011. Nicola specialises in Wills, Probate and the Administration of Estates. She has considerable experience in the drafting of Wills and the administration of an Estate in the event of a death. On occasion she has been able to provide invaluable assistance to families in situations where administering the Estate has been contentious. Nicola can also provide expert advice with the preparation of Controllership Applications and the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney. Nicola is currently working towards obtaining her STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Diploma. ‘STEP' is a professional body made up of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors working in the area of trusts and estate planning. Nicola also specialises in Litigation including Personal Injury Claims, Employer's Liability, Road Traffic Accidents, Medical Negligence and Occupier's Liability. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Nicola has extensive experience in all aspects of Divorce and the Division of Matrimonial Assets by way of a negotiated Matrimonial Agreement or through formal court proceedings. Nicola has also broad experience in Residence and Contact for children and Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders.
