Alexander Leduc

Alex joined McIntyre & Associates in 2023, bringing with him valuable public accounting experience, where he specialized in assurance services for government and non-profit sectors. Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and is on a path to earning his CPA Designation. Outside of the office, Alex is a fitness enthusiast, a sushi aficionado, and an avid reader.

Andrew Lees

Worked in the accounting world since 2008 at various roles from a mid-size accounting firm to small and medium hi-tech companies. It was at this time where I was both working and studying full-time collecting a university degree and my accounting designation. Still, my all-time favorite job was Starbucks.

Andrew Milne

Job Titles:

Andrew Milne joined McIntyre and Associates in 2018 after being a partner at a regional firm for several years. He works extensively in the real estate and construction sectors with experience in transaction planning, compliance, and financing. Andrew also has experience in the pharmaceutical, retail and manufacturing sectors and provides expert opinions for litigation disputes on financial matters. After completing his education at University of Ottawa and Queen's University, Andrew received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2009. Andrew is active in the community having served as the Vice-Chair and Director for the Royal Foundation for Mental Health, Board member for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Specialty Group and Treasurer for the Nakkertok Ski Club. When not at the office, Andrew competes in biathlon racing, is an enthusiastic cyclist and driving his two daughters to a bunch of sports activities.

Ashley Provencal

Ashley began working with McIntyre & Associates Professional Corporation in 2018 and she enjoys working in many different areas of the firm. Ashley began her accounting career in 2016 at a regional accounting firm. She holds a Business Accounting Diploma from Algonquin College where she graduated in 2016, and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Stream from Nipissing University where she graduated in 2019. When not in the office, Ashley can be found trying new walking trails with her dog, or at home with her two cats.

Brent Hiscoe

As a founding director of McIntyre & Associates, Brent provides accounting and auditing services to a wide variety of owner managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Brent also oversees all tax planning and compliance matters in the firm's tax department. His areas of expertise include Canadian personal tax, dispute resolution with CRA, international taxation, research and development tax credits and taxation issues related to company reorganizations. Brent began his career as an accountant in 1986. He holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1988. Brent has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course. Married with two sons, Brent enjoys spending time maintaining his fish pond which is stocked with koi, and pursuing recreational activities with his family.

Darrell Warren

Darrell graduated from Algonquin College and has over 25 years of experience serving small to medium sized businesses in the Ottawa area. Darrell specializes in accounting and taxation for individuals and corporations. He also assists with the I.T infrastructure at McIntyre & Associates. While not at work, Darrell enjoys spending time with his family and watching his two children compete at fiddle & step dance competitions, softball, and hockey. He also enjoys woodworking and playing sports.

David Badenhorst

David has been with the firm since January 2020 and enjoys working closely with family businesses. He holds a Master of Accounting degree and is currently in the process of studying towards the CPA Canada designation. When not in the office, David enjoys spending time outdoors and quality time with friends and family, including his wife and two kids.

Elaine Griffin

Elaine started her career with McIntyre & Associates over 20 years ago and has dedicated her time to the day-to-day operations of the office. Elaine's commitment to the firm and positive attitude has enabled her to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues. When not in the office, Elaine enjoys her time in the outdoors with her family and friends and family dog Louie.

Gabriel Poirier

Gabriel has been with the firm since 2012 and enjoys working closely with small owner managed businesses. Fluently bilingual, Gabriel began his career as an accountant in 1986. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa and obtained his Certified General Accountant designation in 1992. In addition to a 3 year period working at a large accounting firm in the late eighties, Gabriel has worked for accounting firms since 2000. He spent the previous ten years working within high tech companies. Married with two sons, Gabriel enjoys a variety of sports and spending time with family.

H. Travis Scott

Travis joined the firm in 2012. His area of expertise is assurance and financial reporting for both ASPE and IFRS reporting frameworks. Travis works with not-for-profit organizations and small-to-medium sized businesses to help them manage their reporting obligations. He also works closely with owner-managed business to provide guidance on compliance reporting and compensation planning. He has considerable experience in the construction, real estate, health care and investment advisory industries. Travis obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2015 after completing his education at St. Francis Xavier University, Queens University and Carleton University. Travis has served on the finance committee of a local golf course and the governance committee of a sports team at a local university. Travis enjoys many sports and recreation activities as both a participant and a spectator. When not in the office, he can typically be found on the golf course, solving puzzles, or tending to his expanding vegetable garden.

Janine Drinnan

Janine joined McIntyre and Associates in February 2021 and previously had the pleasure of being a client for over 30 years. As a member of the administrative team, Janine welcomes new clients, assists the Directors and clients with various requests and enjoys assisting with all administrative tasks as needed.

Jennifer Brownlee

Jennifer assists with the firm's quality assurance practices - ensuring that all engagements are conducted in accordance with the standards of the profession, all financial statements include appropriate note disclosure, and that the highest quality of work is performed on every engagement. Jennifer enjoys long walks with her dog and spending time at the cottage with her family.

Jenny Yip

Jenny Yip | Administration Jenny recently joined McIntyre & Associates. Bringing over 10 years of administrative experience across Global Luxury Retail, Real Estate & Aircrew Association industries. With a robust background in business administration, customer service, facilities management & team collaboration. She is poised to make significant contributions to the team. Having graduated from De Montfort University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management & Advanced Diploma of Management Studies from City University of Hong Kong. Jenny is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, facilitating effective communication in diverse settings. Outside of work, Jenny is an outgoing person who enjoys hiking, cycling, and traveling, with a special affinity for Japan. She cherishes spending time with her family and two cats, Maya & Kuro, embracing a balanced lifestyle that nurtures both personal and professional growth.

Jessica Peck

Jessica has been a member of the admin team at McIntyre & Associates since February 2019. She spent time working at the front desk as reception and now focuses mainly on administration for corporate work. Jessica started her career in administration working for law firms as a real estate and family law clerk. She graduated from Algonquin College in 2014 with a certificate and two diplomas in Legal and Executive Office Administration. Outside of the office, you can be certain to find Jess out at the barn spending time with her horses. She is also an avid wildlife photographer with her main focus being birds of prey.

Jim McIntyre - Founder

As a founding director of McIntyre & Associates, Jim focuses his energy on taxation and tax planning and specializes in wealth preservation and estate planning. Jim works on the leading edge of new trends, policies and procedures and shares his extensive knowledge of tax law through regular seminars and speaking engagements. His expertise also encompasses trusts, wills, corporate reorganizations and the provision of financial and business management advisory services to both owner-managed businesses and professionals. Jim began his career as an accountant in 1977. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1979. In 2000, Jim became a registered trust and estate planner. Jim is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a Director of the Ottawa Estate Planning Council. He has also been actively involved with several political leadership campaigns. Jim is an avid reader and enjoys recreational and athletic pursuits with his family.

Juliana Haddad

Juliana recently joined the administrative team at McIntyre & Associates and provides administrative support to the tax group. Juliana has 10 years experience in a variety of industries and brings with her the knowledge of providing professional services to clients, staff, and government officials.

Larry Hasson

Larry joined the firm in 2009 after working at a national firm for two years. His area of expertise is assurance engagements, including IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) financial statements. Larry also works on personal and corporate reorganizations and tax planning engagements. Larry began his career as an accountant in 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2010. Larry has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax course. Larry is very active and routinely competes in Ironman triathlons. When he isn't out swimming, biking or running, Larry can be found at home or out hiking with his wife, two children Maya and Zach, and his dog.

Marcos Caballero

Marcos possesses an extensive professional background primarily focused on tax and assurance services. His practice primarily centers on tax planning, encompassing corporate reorganizations, tax strategies involving trusts, and estate planning for owner-managers and high net worth individuals. Additionally, Marcos holds experience in providing assurance services across diverse industries, including real estate, financial services, pharmaceuticals, public agencies, and non-profit organizations. Marcos commenced his journey with our firm in January 2016, fresh from his graduation at the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce. In 2017, he furthered his academic achievements by obtaining a Master of Accounting from Carleton University. Marcos achieved his CPA designation in 2019 and is currently in the process of completing the CPA Canada's In- Depth tax course, which is anticipated to be finished in 2024. He is an active member of The Canadian Tax Foundation.

Maria Russiello

Maria Russiello | Administration Maria has recently joined the administrative team at McIntyre & Associates and works to improve office processes. She brings a proven knowledge of administrative process, customer service, and research skills. She recently graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. When not in the office, Maria enjoys travelling to spend time with friends, reading and hiking with her dog Joon.

Muhammad Umer Jalal

Umer joined McIntyre & Associates in 2023 after gaining experience at other regional firms. He specializes in assurance services, specifically having worked with not-for-profit and investment companies. After completing his undergraduate degree at Trent University and master's degree at Carleton University, Umer is currently on his path to becoming a CPA. Outside of the office, Umer enjoys eating out and trying new restaurants. Apart from that, you will most likely find him sitting at home watching a T.V. show while he plays FC on his console.

Nazdar Simo

Nazdar Simo joined McIntyre & Associates Professional Corporation in 2022. She is working as a Staff Accountant. Nazdar Completed a Business Administration (Core) General Business major at Algonquin College. Currently, Nazdar is pursuing her Bachelor of Commerce at Nipissing University, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and career growth. Nazdar brings her strong educational foundation, work ethic, and passion for connecting with people to contribute both professionally and personally to the success of McIntyre & Associates Professional Corporation. Beyond her work, she finds solace in the great outdoors through hiking and values quality time spent with family and friends.

Patrick Kissick

Patrick joined McIntyre and Associates in 2021 as part of the assurance group. His area of expertise is assurance and financial reporting for both ASPE and IFRS reporting frameworks. Patrick enjoys working with small-to-medium sized businesses. Patrick discovered accounting by accident in high school when a course was canceled, and his backup was financial accounting. Patrick later obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa and upon graduation started working at a local Ottawa accounting firm. In 2011, he earned his Certified General Accountant designation. In addition, Patrick has 9 years of industry experience in the automotive sector and has a passion for cars.

Renzo Yparraguirre

Renzo joined McIntyre & Associates at the start of this year, bringing over four years of public accounting experience from his previous firm. He has a strong background in assurance engagements, with a focus on reviews and audits. Renzo has worked with a variety of industries including construction, the food sector, healthcare, retail, and real estate, to name a few. Beginning his accounting career in 2016, Renzo earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a master's degree in accounting from Carleton University. He achieved his Chartered Professional Accountant designation at the end of 2022. In his free time, Renzo is an avid fan of Pokémon Go, a game he was introduced to by his nephew. He enjoys spending moments with his fiancée such as going to the movies or having nights out. He also enjoys long walks with his dog Fido, especially in Gatineau.

Sean McCoy

Sean joined McIntyre Associates as a Staff Accountant in February of 2023. His work predominantly consists of assisting other accountants with completing our client's personal and corporate tax returns. He has an Advanced Diploma in Finance from Algonquin College, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nipissing University. Outside of work, Sean plays club soccer and basketball, and enjoys cooking for friends and family.

Shelley McCarroll

Shelley McCarroll | Administration Shelley joined the McIntyre & Associates administrative team in early February. She brings with her many years of experience in administrative support and customer service . Part of her day-to-day office duties include ensuring clients corporate and personal documents get delivered electronically. When not in the office, Shelley enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband fishing and canoeing.

Sherry Morrish

Sherry obtained her CGA, CA designation in 2001. She began her career in a public accounting firm in Alberta until joining McIntyre and Associates in 2018. She enjoys working with small owner managed businesses and provides personalized support for accounting and taxation services. When not at the office, Sherry is often found horseback riding or spending time with her husband and two dogs.

Shirley Nagadya

Shirley graduated with a Diploma in Business Accounting from Algonquin College, Ottawa, and a BBA in accounting from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She assists on accounting and tax reporting for individuals and private enterprises. Out of the office, Shirley enjoys ballroom dancing, hiking, cooking, reading, and watching movies.

Tanya Ridgway-Reinke

Tanya Ridgway-Reinke joined McIntyre & Associates in 2022 after running a thriving accounting practice in Carp, Ontario for 13 years. Tanya has extensive professional experience that includes providing accounting, tax and advisory related services to individuals and owner-managed businesses across a variety of industries. Tanya began her career as an accountant in 2000 after completing her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Ottawa, Tanya then received her designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2004 and has also completed the CPA Canada In-depth tax program. When not at the office Tanya spends many hours at the hockey rink with her young family.

Tina Eggens

Tina Eggens | Administration As an Administrative Assistant at McIntyre & Associates, Tina is responsible for financial reporting, invoicing, Accounts Receivable and special projects. Tina's career began in the non-profit sector, working at a couple of major charities. She then moved on to own her own franchise which led to her career in financial management. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her. Tina enjoys travelling, wine tasting and spending time with her grown children and friends.

Yu Bai

Her primary focus is on taxation and strategic tax planning for individuals, businesses, and estate & trust clients. Yu earned a master's degree of Management and Professional Accounting from University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. In her off-hours, she can often be found on a running trail or engaging in ball games with her family.
