Alan Smith is a Director at McGuire Sponsel who manages client relationships across the country. Alan has a longstanding history of helping clients and adding value to their business. Smith joined McGuire Sponsel when McGuire Sponsel and Ernst & Morris joined forces in 2019. Prior to McGuire Sponsel, Alan joined E&M in 1998. He is passionate about specialty tax services and is a frequent speaker on cost segregation. Austin Brown

Austin Brown is a Manager in our firm's Fixed Asset Services practice. Austin's responsibilities include leading the Fixed Assets practice improvement/development team and training and onboarding new Fixed Asset consultants. Austin also efficiently manages our Cost Segregation study project workflow. Before becoming the current Dallas office lead, Austin worked for four and a half years at our Indianapolis headquarters. Prior to becoming a Manager and focusing on practice improvement, Austin worked on the technical review of our practice. He also assisted in kicking off our Fixed Asset Management service. Austin graduated from Wabash College in 2017. While at Wabash, he was an All-American Free Safety for the Wabash College football team. Leading many teams during fieldwork, he gathers the necessary information to maximize R&D Tax Credits. He has an exceptional history substantiating qualified research expenses and maximizing credits while reducing clients' overall tax burdens. Prior to joining McGuire Sponsel, Ben worked in real estate accounting. He had a wide range of responsibilities, including monthly financial statement preparations, balance sheet account reconciliations, preparing operating expense budgets and reconciliations, and providing financial analysis to property managers for over 20 properties. Ben Worrell

Ben Worrell, MBA, leads the Location Advisory Services practice for McGuire Sponsel's Indianapolis office. Ben works closely with McGuire Sponsel's alliance firms and referral partners throughout the United States to identify, procure, and maximize economic development opportunities. He fosters client relationships by guiding clients through the intricate procurement and negotiation process associated with credits and incentives benefits. Through his time as a small business advocate and advisor across management and economic development roles, Ben understands the value of a strong partnership between the client and the community. Across McGuire Sponsel's four offices and national client footprint, Ben and the Location Advisory team offer a seamless and integrated approach for clients of all sizes and industries. Ben graduated from Hanover College with a political science degree and received his MBA from Cedarville University. Bob Poisal

Bob Poisal has spent most of his adult life serving CPAs, with more than 30 years in the industry, first in tax publishing (with Thomson Reuters & Wolters Kluwer), then with two Big Five firms (both KPMG and McGladrey/RSM), before bringing his industry knowledge and experience to McGuire Sponsel where he serves CPA firms and their clients across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. As a Relationship Manager for McGuire Sponsel, Bob works closely with CPA firms to partner and introduce specialty tax services to their clients. This includes pre-meeting discussions with the CPA, introductory calls and meetings with the client, discussions of potential opportunities, and benefit assessments which result in the creation of a benefit /fee projection. Once engaged, Bob continues to be involved in each project until delivery, working with the client, CPA, and team at McGuire Sponsel to assure timeline, communication, and service expectations are met. Bob has extensive experience with the R&D Tax Credit, Fixed Asset Services, the IC-DISC, Global Business Services including Transfer Pricing, and Economic Development Credits and Incentives. In addition to CPA firms, he also works with private equity firms, banks, and leads the firm's efforts to secure international projects from countries like Japan, China, Israel & India. He attended the University of Indianapolis (known as Indiana Central University at the time) and served for six years in the United States Marine Corp where he traveled extensively before returning to Indianapolis where he currently resides. He has three children and four grandchildren.

Chelsea Carr

Chelsea Carr is a Senior Manager and Recruiting Coordinator for the firm. She joined McGuire Sponsel in December 2012 as a tax consultant, conducting fieldwork and preparing R&D Tax Credit calculations and technical narratives. She has served as a strong conduit partnering with clients to add tremendous value by maximizing state and federal tax credits. In her nearly 10 years with the firm, she has had a front row seat to the firm's grow and expansion of our practice lines. As Firm Administrator, Cindy Ritchie oversees the day to day non-sales and non-production functions within the firm. Her primary responsibilities include performing many of the A/R and A/P financial functions in the office. Conner Mullin

As a Relationship Manager for McGuire Sponsel, Conner Mullin focuses on building relationships with clients and partners in the Northwest including California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Conner has a deep understanding of a myriad of specialty tax opportunities for clients whether they are expanding, investing, or doing qualified research. Conner is committed to understanding clients' needs and an expert in how McGuire Sponsel can add value to their business. Previously, Conner's focus at McGuire Sponsel was assisting the business development team with research and cross-selling opportunities. He helped production and sales teams identify areas for added value for our clients, and built out the firm's portfolio of leads and prospects through research and data mining. In his role as a relationship manager, Conner's goal is to maximize client service and identify specialty tax opportunities for clients throughout the tax planning process. Craig Fouts is a principal for the Cost Segregation Practice. His primary responsibilities include the oversight of day-to-day operations, client consultation, and leads the project review process. Fouts has significant experience managing projects from start to finish in a wide variety of industries including commercial development, medical, retail, multi-family, and process manufacturing facilities. His experience includes performing inspections and studies of apartments, hotels, medical facilities, office buildings, retail developments, car dealerships, and many more building types. David McGuire is a leading expert on cost segregation, fixed assets and depreciation law and a co-founder of McGuire Sponsel. He has reviewed real estate portfolios ranging in size from six-figure acquisition costs to billions of dollars in value and has provided cost segregation services for companies in a wide variety of industries. While serving in consulting and management roles with Big Four accounting firms, he acquired a thorough understanding of the Internal Revenue Code's depreciation provisions. He also assisted past clients with succession planning, estate planning, and general tax/business consulting.
