Alex Solomon

Job Titles:

Dr. Solomon trained at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, serving as the Chief Resident for the integrated Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology residency and receiving the Outstanding Surgical Intern Award. Dr. Solomon graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he earned early induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was awarded the Edward B. Bunn, SJ Award for outstanding academic performance and superior demonstration of the art of medicine. He is also a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, dual-majoring and graduating with distinction. Dr. Solomon is dedicated to a patient-centered and personalized approach to care. During each clinic visit, he will thoroughly explain the underlying pathophysiology of disease, explore the range of treatment options, provide detailed procedure information, and address all questions and concerns. Additionally, Dr. Solomon is deeply committed to a multidisciplinary approach to care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment plans to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes. Dr. Solomon specializes in performing minimally-invasive image-guided procedures with an emphasis on interventional oncology (ablation, chemoembolization, radioembolization), men's and women's health (prostate artery, uterine artery embolization, varicocele embolization, pelvic congestion syndrome), venous disease (IVC filter placement/retrieval, thrombectomy/recanalization, stenting), portal interventions (TIPS, BRTO, portal vein embolization), and pain management (vertebral augmentation, nerve blocks, and ablations). He is a scholar in the field, authoring or co-authoring over 50 original scientific texts and presenting his work at national and international conferences. Dr. Solomon serves as a reviewer for the flagship radiology journal, Radiology, and served as an inaugural editor for the Radiology: In Training *section.* In his spare time, Dr. Solomon enjoys outdoor sports and activities, cooking, and spending time with his family. Amy Farkas

Job Titles:
  • Pediatric Radiology
Dr. Farkas has fellowship training in pediatric radiology. She finds it a privilege to care for children and works to create a comfortable environment for children and families when providing imaging services. She particularly enjoys working with the radiology residents and medical students at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Outside the hospital, Dr. Farkas enjoys cooking, going for runs, and laying on the beach with a book. She also enjoys watching the Great British Baking Show for inspiration. She and her husband love tiny rescue pups.

Andrew Gray

Job Titles:
  • Senior Physician Assistant With the Interventional Radiology
Andrew is the senior Physician Assistant with the Interventional Radiology department where he has worked since 2011. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical school with a Masters in Physician Assistant where he was the class and society president. Prior to PA school Andrew was a FireFighter/Paramedic with the city of Portsmouth. He is a community faculty member for the PA program at EVMS and routinely precepts students and guest lectures with the program and at conferences . He is a member of Society of Interventional Radiology, American Academy of Physician Assistants and with Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants. PA Gray currently lives with his wife and two children in Chesapeake, where he volunteers as Den leader with his son's Cub Scout pack and is an assistant troop leader with his daughter's Girl Scout troop. He also enjoys competing in triathlons.

Anthony DePasquale

Anthony DePasquale is MCR's dedicated Operations Director, provided through RBS. Anthony's professional career has evolved into a passion for business and healthcare administration. Anthony has over 20 years' experience as a healthcare administrator with a diverse multi-disciplinary background. His leadership has extended to inpatient and outpatient medical imaging, radiation oncology, urgent care, orthopedics, laboratory, primary care, and even veterinary medicine. Anthony is value centered, mission focused, motivational and an inclusive leader. Anthony is an OSHA certified safety trainer, and a Licensed Radiologic Technologist. On-site with MCR, Anthony and Cindy spearhead operations related to the professional practice and support the direction of MCR's Board of Directors and Shareholders.

Arjun Sobti

Job Titles:
  • General Radiology
Dr. Sobti was born and raised in the Chicagoland metropolitan area leading to his current fanaticism for the city's sports teams. He stayed in the Midwest for his education and graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign with a B.S. in Bioengineering. While in college he interned with Motorola Solutions, an experience that launched him on the career path as a Biotech Engineer in Silicon Valley, CA after he graduated in 2002. His experience in Silicon Valley working for start-up companies concentrated on cancer marker proteins. Over time, Dr. Sobti's attention and intrigue turned toward the field of medicine itself. He attended Saint James School of Medicine in Kralendijk, Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles and graduated as valedictorian of his class. During his rotations he was quickly attracted to the specialty of Radiology and specifically, Interventional Radiology. This was likely secondary to his love of both engineering and medicine coupled with the fact that his mother was a Radiologist. Dr. Sobti completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency in 2011 from the John H. Stroger Hospital, Cook County, Illinois and then directly entered a subspecialty Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Illinois Peoria, completing that program in 2012. His first job after residency and fellowship training was in the city of Chicago with a full time Interventional Radiology private practice. Dr. Sobti then transitioned to a position in a smaller private practice located in Iowa where his duties expanded to include all of Diagnostic Imaging, Mammography as well as Interventional Radiology. Aside from his clinical duties, Arjun was also very active in administration and sat on numerous committees and boards within the hospital. Dr. Sobti and his family made the transition to the Mid-Atlantic area for warmer climes and has been excited about the opportunity he has for providing patient care to the communities that Medical Center Radiologists serve. When Arjun is not in the Interventional Radiology suite or the Radiology reading room, you will likely find him and his family on the beach. He enjoys traveling with his wife and 3 children and is an avid sports fan. He also enjoys cooking various cuisines, loves to try new and interesting foods, reading and learning new and interesting trivia, science, and history.

Bennie Skinner

Born and raised in the Tidewater area of Virginia, Dr. Skinner graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Biology . After working as a Department of Radiology orderly after college, he decided to go to medical school to become a Radiologist. Dr. Skinner completed medical school and a diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical College of Virginia - Virginia Commonwealth University. He remained at MCV for a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging. Dr. Skinner chose a career in Radiology because diagnosis is the key to providing the best patient care and Radiology is often the key to provide the correct diagnosis. When not working, Dr. Skinner enjoys outdoor activities and travel. He has been married since 1994 and has three children and a dog.

Bimal Patel

Dr. Patel performed his undergraduate, medical school and diagnostic radiology residency in Chicago, IL, where he is originally from. After graduation from radiology residency, Dr. Patel completed a body imaging fellowship at Emory University.

Chan Nguyen

Job Titles:
  • Musculoskeletal Radiology
Dr. Nguyen is a board certified radiologist who has been practicing for over 25 years. He has spent his entire radiology career with Medical Center Radiologists, and has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. After earning a Bachelor's Degree in bioengineering from the University of California San Diego, Dr. Nguyen headed east to pursue a medical degree. It was at the University of Pittsburgh where he met his wife, Leica, a graduate student in business administration and public health. Well respected by patients, staff, residents, and colleagues, Dr. Nguyen is known for his kind heart, calm demeanor, and fun spirit. His special areas of interest include diagnosing and performing procedures related to bone and joint disease and emergency radiology; he is one of the founding members of these divisions.

Christine Anzalone

Dr. Anzalone is a board certified diagnostic radiologist who completed a dual fellowship in breast and body imaging. She currently is Lead Interpreting Physician at the Dorothy G Hoefer Comprehensive Breast Center in Newport News. As a breast radiologist, she specializes in the detection and management of both benign and malignant breast diseases. She interprets a variety of imaging modalities including mammography, ultrasound and MRI. She also performs image guided interventional breast procedures to include biopsies, aspirations, and preoperative localizations. Dr. Anzalone was raised in New Hampshire. She earned a BA in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire and an AS in Radiologic technology from New Hampshire Technical Institute. After working for several years as an X-ray and MRI technologist, she obtained her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. She completed her internship at Berkshire Medical Center in western Massachusetts. Subsequently, she completed her radiology residency and fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. When not at work, Dr. Anzalone loves spending time with her husband and children. Her favorite activities include traveling, bicycling, skiing, and swimming. Most recently, she has been exploring the local waterways on her kayak.

Christopher Barnett

Dr. Barnett is a radiologist specializing in Interventional Radiology. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Barnett completed an integrated diagnostic and interventional radiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY, where he served as Chief Resident. Prior to that, he received his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Barnett believes in a personalized approach to patient care. His clinical interests include minimally invasive treatments of benign and malignant tumors, hepatobiliary and genitourinary disease, and vascular disorders. Dr. Barnett lives in Williamsburg with his wife and two young children, with whom he enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors.

Christopher Guinand

Christopher "CJ" Guinand has spent the majority of his life in the Hampton Roads area. As the son of a Navy physician, he developed a passion for medicine at a young age. CJ obtained his undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University and his Master of Physician Assistant degree at Mary Baldwin University. Prior to joining Medical Center Radiologists, he worked as PA in both the Emergency Department and Interventional Pain Management. In his free time, CJ enjoys being with friends and family, playing music and spending time at the beach.

Christopher O'Neill

Job Titles:

Originally from the Hampton Roads area, Dr. O'Neill performed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Body Imaging Fellowship at Medical College of Virginia - VCU Health. Upon joining MCR, Dr. O'Neill was quickly recognized as a tremendous resource for area surgical oncologists, urologists, and gastroenterologists. He is an active participant in multidisciplinary conferences to include pancreatic, gastroenterology and urology tumor conferences. Along with Dr. Sarah Shaves, Dr. O'Neill was a driving force behind the creation of the EVMS Body Fellowship, the only such fellowship offered in eastern Virginia. Dr. O'Neill's accomplishments have been recognized as a multi-year winner of Coastal Virginia Magazine "Top Doc." An active participant with the EVMS Radiology Residency, Dr. O'Neill was the 2020 recipient of the "Golden Apple" teaching award. Dr. O'Neill lives in Virginia Beach with his family. His hobbies include traveling, boating, and other water activities.

Elizabeth Moseley

Dr. Moseley grew up at Lake Gaston on the Virginia/North Carolina border. She moved to the Hampton Roads area to attend medical school and has spent her career in radiology practice there. After completing medical school and residency, she was honored to be selected as the first fellow in the EVMS Breast Imaging fellowship. Her areas of special interest are Breast Imaging and Emergency Radiology. Dr. Moseley still lives by the water but is now on Back Bay. She enjoys beach weekends with her family and her golden retriever rescue, Blue.

Eveleen Oleinik

Job Titles:
  • Breast Imaging
Dr. Oleinik has fellowship training in Mammography, Breast Ultrasound and Breast MRI and special interest in the imaging and diagnosis of benign and malignant breast disease and in interventional breast procedures. Since joining MCR in 2001, she has performed ultrasound, stereotactic/tomographic, and MRI guided breast biopsies and wire localizations, lymphoscintigraphy, and ductography She enjoys educating radiology residents and medical students at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Beginning in 2008, MCR's team of breast radiologists have offered fellowship training in Breast Imaging at the Sentara Leigh Comprehensive Breast Center, providing advanced training in the latest techniques in breast imaging and procedures.

Jennifer Sanders

A native New Jerseyan and proud Air Force veteran, PA Sanders has lived in the Hampton Roads area since 2015. After graduating from the Eastern Virginia Medical School Physician Assistant program in 2020, PA Sanders has worked as an Interventional Radiology PA since 2021. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time in nature, experiencing cultures through food and travel, caring for her two dogs (Tuxedo and Bentley) and especially "dancing like nobody's watching" at every opportunity.

John Plemmons

Dr. Plemmons grew up in Hampton, Virginia and has lived in Virginia all of his life. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and began a career in banking. His interest in medicine took seed while volunteering Saturday mornings at Norfolk General helping cancer patients undergoing treatment. After completion of his radiology residency, Dr. Plemmons was honored to serve in the US Air Force for 4 years stationed at Langley AFB. Finishing his breast fellowship after leaving the Air Force, he now dedicates his professional life helping to diagnose breast cancer at its earliest possible stage so that treatment has the greatest chance of success. Dr. Plemmons currently lives in southeastern Virginia Beach with his wife, son, and three dogs. Other than his family, his passions include college football and gardening.

Kirstin Fiona Davis

Dr. Davis trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital with a focus in breast imaging. She then served in the United States Navy at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth where she was the Lead Interpreting Physician for the hospital breast center and surrounding Tricare mammography clinics. Dr. Davis has a special interest in the imaging and diagnosis of benign and malignant breast disease. Since finishing her training in 1998, she has performed ultrasound, stereotactic/tomographic and MRI guided biopsies, preoperative localizations, ductography and lymphoscintigraphy. Dr. Davis enjoys educating residents and fellows at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Laura Renegar

Laura Renegar is an Interventional Radiology (IR) Physician Assistant (PA) with a passion for patient focused care. She enjoys her role as an IR PA working in the inpatient, periprocedual, and outpatient settings while learning from many talented physicians and continuing medical education. PA Renegar works to communicate effectively with patients in the outpatient clinic setting by educating patients and families on various Interventional Oncology treatments as well as a variety of minimally invasive procedures such as kyphoplasty and endovascular embolization. Laura worked as an EMT in North Carolina and in the Emergency Department in Kansas, where she was able to hone her critical care, compassion, and communication skills. She then completed her master's degree in PA studies at South College in Knoxville, TN. Undergraduate studies were completed at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Laura enjoys running, hiking, sailing, reading, spending time with her husband and dogs, and attempting to learn the banjo in her free time.

Laura Shaw

PA Shaw is originally from Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. She then earned her Master's of Physician Assistant from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Laura lives in Norfolk with her husband Charles and their dog Chewy. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, exercising and doing outdoor activities.

Michael Smith

Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts degree in history. He then completed medical School at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV), now known as the Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine. After a transitional internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Dr. Smith completed his diagnostic radiology residency at MCV. Since completing a follow on Breast Imaging fellowship at The Paredes Institute for Women's Imaging in Richmond, Dr. Smith has served for many years as a well respected breast radiologist for the Williamsburg community. Dr. Smith and his family live in Williamsburg, where they have two children, two dogs, and two cats. In his free time, Dr. Smith can be found on the golf course or on the beach.

Nina Fabiszewski

Dr. Fabiszewski has fellowship training in Mammography, Breast Ultrasound and MRI and special interest in the imaging and diagnosis of benign and malignant breast and interventional breast procedures. She has performed ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI guided breast biopsies since joining MCR in 1993.
