To facilitate success in the learning of math. I like to create a comfortable and supportive environment in which to work with a student. I feel that a solid practical understanding of high school math is an essential prerequisite to success in college and later life... I am fully licensed to teach high school math in New Jersey and I was a math teacher at Perth Amboy High School. I have an undergraduate engineering degree from Cornell University and I am halfway to a masters degree in the Art of Teaching at NJCU. My SAT math score was 790. Tutoring allowed me to take care of my newborn daughter while my wife performed her day time job as a school psychologist. I found that I preferred tutoring to teaching in a classroom... In addition to my own tutoring business, I currently work part time for South Brunswick High School as a home instruction math teacher for students who cannot go to school (usually for medical reasons).
