Adam Rosen

Adam helps clients with immigrant & nonimmigrant cases before the USCIS, DOL, DOS, and in federal court. His practice includes complex I-140 education equivalency and ability-to-pay issues. Adam Rosen is an Assistant Managing Attorney and a Member of the Murthy Law Firm. He represents employers and individuals in a range of nonimmigrant visa cases, including H1B, L-1 and E-2, as well as other, more complex matters before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the U.S. Department of State. Adam's experience also includes helping clients with permanent resident (commonly, green card) cases before the U.S. Department of Labor and USCIS. Adam enjoys helping clients with their motions and appeals to USCIS, and has represented a number of clients at the Administrative Appeals Office in complex employment-based cases. The range of matters in which Adam represents our clients includes: ability to pay and foreign education equivalency issues in I-140 petitions, nunc pro tunc cases for H1B and H-4 status, nonimmigrant status issues including specialty occupation, employer-employee relationships, and specialized knowledge, and adjustment-of-status issues, such as AC21 permanent portability and the no-fault exception to the status maintenance requirement. Adam also represents clients before U.S. consulates in nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications. He has been actively involved in the national American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Washington D.C. Chapter for several years. Adam has the distinction of being recognized by Best Lawyers® in America. Prior to joining Murthy Law Firm, Adam practiced immigration law in New York City, representing clients in the commercial communications industry on immigration matters that included family-based cases.

Anna Stepanova

In the areas of corporate and general immigration law, Anna handles a variety of cases, including motions and appeals, and visas for individuals with extraordinary ability in the national interest. Anna is an Assistant Managing Attorney and a Member of Murthy Law Firm. Anupama Parameshwaran

With prior experience as in-house immigration counsel for an IT firm, Anu works closely with company clients in the nonimmigrant area. She has particular strengths in H1B, L, and TN visas. Anupama worked as in-house immigration counsel for an information technology company, focusing mainly on H1B and PERM applications. Prior to joining our firm in 2011, she worked as a contract attorney for a law firm dealing with naturalization and family-based immigration cases.

Aron A. Finkelstein

As managing attorney, Aron is responsible for the overall functioning of our firm. He consults primarily in the area of employment-based immigration law, guiding companies & individuals. Aron A. Finkelstein is a Member and the Managing Attorney at the Murthy Law Firm. Mr. Finkelstein helped establish the firm's Corporate Teleconference series and regularly participates on the panel to clarify critical employment immigration matters. He advises clients, serves as a mentor to other attorneys, and is responsible for the daily management of the Murthy Law Firm. Christopher Drinan

With his many years of experience, Chris represents clients in family and employment-based visa petitions, complex citizenship applications, and Immigration Court proceedings. Chris represents both individual and corporate clients of the Murthy Law Firm before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of State, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. He deals with a variety of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions for individuals and corporations, complicated citizenship and nationality issues, and assists criminal attorneys in analyzing the effects of criminal convictions. Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Chris practiced at immigration law firms in Boston, MA and in Las Vegas, NE. He has represented a variety of corporate and individual clients. He has experience in family- and employment-based immigrant petitions, nonimmigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status and consular processing, naturalization, waivers, asylum and removal defense. Jeffrey Galkin

Representing clients in a range of cases, including PERM labor certifications, immigrant petitions, applications to adjust status, and naturalization, Jeffrey joined the Murthy Law Firm in 2022. Jeffrey joined the Murthy Law Firm in 2022 upon graduating from University of Maryland School of Law. Jeffrey first saw the impact an immigration attorney can have on a client's life while practicing as a student attorney in the law school's clinical law program, where he represented a Special Immigrant Juvenile and guided his client through the final stages of becoming a lawful permanent resident. Throughout his broad array of law school experiences, including serving as judicial intern for the Supreme Court of Maryland (formerly Court of Appeals), Jeffrey has been trained to thoroughly analyze and understand the law in order to assist clients effectively. As an attorney, Jeffrey enjoys helping clients navigate the complexities of the immigration process. Jeffrey represents companies and individuals on a wide range of employment-based and family-based immigrant petitions and applications, including PERM labor certifications, immigrant petitions, applications to adjust status, and naturalization. Jessica Beaver

Jessica started as a law clerk at our firm. Now, as an attorney, she works on PERM labor certifications, I-140s, I-485s, and family-based cases. A Member of the Murthy Law Firm, Jessica first joined in the Law Clerk Honors program in November 2010. Jessica worked in each department of the Murthy Law Firm as a law clerk. While gaining experience on a variety of case types, Jessica has also authored articles for MurthyDotCom and researched complex issues for the firm's attorneys. Jessica's focus is currently on PERM labor certifications, immigrant petitions (I-140s), applications to adjust status (I-485s), and other family-based cases. JoAnna Gavigan

Having begun as a paralegal in the firm in 2010, JoAnna went on to earn her law degree in 2015, and returned to the firm in 2017. As a lawyer, she advises on complex immigration matters. JoAnna has worked in the immigration law field since 2010, when she first joined the Murthy Law Firm as a paralegal in the H1B / Nonimmigrant Department. JoAnna went on to graduate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2015, receiving the Patricia Burgess Public Law Prize for outstanding academic performance in the field of public law. As a lawyer, she has advised employers and foreign nationals on complex immigration matters. JoAnna represents individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of State (DOS), U.S. Customs Border and Protection (CBP) and other government agencies pertaining to both immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications and petitions. In addition, JoAnna performs public access file (PAF) compliance audits and has assisted with DOL and FDNS investigations. JoAnna also regularly writes articles for MurthyDotCom on a variety of emerging immigration topics. Joel Yanovich

Kevin Andrews

He also helped draft the curriculum proposal for an employment-based immigration law course taught by Murthy Law Firm attorneys Aron Finkelstein and Pamela Genise at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Over the years, Kevin has worked on a variety of complex and unusual immigration matters involving, motions to reopen / reconsider (MTRs), notices of intent to deny (NOIDs) and notices of intent to revoke (NOIRs) on a variety of immigrant and nonimmigrant issues, nunc pro tunc filings for nonimmigrant petitions (H1B, L-1, F-1, etc), I-9 and public access file (PAF) compliance, DOL & FDNS investigations, visa assistance issues, and more. Timothy (TJ) Sachse

Vasant Nayak

Since its 1994 launch, soon after the inception of The Law Office of Sheela Murthy (trading as the Murthy Law Firm since 2006), our website has grown with the times, receiving honors and accolades every step of the way; possibly complimented most for its logic and ease of navigation. Thanks to Nayak, MurthyDotCom is a leader among websites by lawyers worldwide, offering free online services like the MurthyChat, MurthyForum, our audio and video archives, blog, and social media. The free distribution of the MurthyBulletin to tens of thousands of subscribers each week is a fulfillment of his early vision. Nayak facilitated the development of our own custom-built software, making the best use of technology for the specific needs of the Murthy Law Firm. Tailored to combine the needs of a mid-size business, (HR, accounting / billing, case management, document creation, etc) with the requirements of the immigration process (online access for clients, form filling, document approval, client communication, and more). Nayak has participated internationally in many group and solo exhibitions of his work throughout his art career. He has shown works of digitally manipulated prints, large format color photographs, of websites and interactive animation, and of black-and-white photography. A committed teacher and professor, respected by both his students and his colleagues, Nayak also participated in many conferences nationally and globally, addressing educators on culture and its relationship to photography, among other topics. Receiving his Master of Visual Arts Degree from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana, Nayak also studied at the University of Maryland. Prior to coming to the United States, he worked with photography and media in India. He studied communications media in Mumbai, including film, television, and radio, after earning his B.A. in sociology / anthropology at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, India. Nayak's unique perspective, philosophy, and vision, have proven both valuable and essential to the success of MurthyDotCom and the Murthy Law Firm. His interests have come full circle through the fine arts and returned to the practical applications of media, technology, and marketing with a fresh vantage point. In addition to his work with the law firm, Nayak has recently returned to working in the realm of communication media, making short films for NGOs in India and nonprofit organizations in the United States, who are working for social change.
