Through his experience as Deputy Director of the South Carolina Coastal Council, the Council's original Permit Administrator, and as the past President of Newkirk Environmental Inc., Duncan has gained recognition as one of the foremost authorities in the southeast on environmental regulations and policies.

Jim Ducker

Jim joined Newkirk Environmental Inc. in 2017 as Director of Stormwater Services. His primary responsibilities with the firm include stormwater inspections, supervision of stormwater inspections, business management and development related to stormwater services, use and maintenance of eSWPPP. Jim is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer (SC) with eighteen years' experience in all aspects of site identification; masterplan development; schematic design; proforma development; due diligence; regulatory approvals; construction document preparation; contract bid, negotiation and award processes; construction management and contract administration; budget development and management; and, project closeout. In his spare time, Jim and his wife Terri can be found walking the dogs on the beach or on the sideline of a field or the edge of a pool cheering on the boys. Jim Knox

Jim joined Newkirk Environmental Inc. in 2019 as a field biologist. His primary responsibilities with the firm include wetland delineations, endangered species assessments, conducting mitigation monitoring and reporting, GIS mapping. Aside from wetland work, Jim is also a ISA Certified Arborist (SO-10992A) and conducts tree survey and tree risk assessments for Newkirk Forestry and Land Management. When he is not working, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife Carmen and their two dogs Zeke and Sophie. He loves hanging out with friends and family, along with anything to do with the outdoors.

Ken Hance

Ken has been in the industry since 1981 with a focus on environmental planning, permitting, resource management and coastal zone management issues. Prior to joining Newkirk Environmental Inc., Ken was employed as Regional Permit Administrator of the Myrtle Beach Office of the SC Coastal Council for eight years. He has dealt extensively with state and federal regulatory agencies on a wide variety of permitting projects and issues and also has extensive experience developing, permitting, implementing and operating mitigation banks in South Carolina and Georgia. When he isn't working, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife Jayne, their two sons Bradley and David, and their daughter-in-law Sara. Mac Baughman

Mac brings 28 years of forest management experience to Newkirk. During his industrial forest management career, he held a variety of positions. As a District Forester, Mac was directly responsible for the day to day activities on 80,000 acres of forest land. As the Timber Sales Manager, he was responsible for marketing all products sold to outside mills from both fee and non-fee lands in South Carolina. The annual timber sales budget was 10,000 acres and over 1,000,000 tons. As the Manager of Land Acquisition and Sales, Mac was responsible for the sale of over 300,000 acres generating proceeds of over $500,000,000. As the Regional Wildlife Biologist, he was responsible for the wildlife management research program. Mac oversaw the research of more than 10 graduate students who were conducting research on neotropical song birds, herps, small mammals, bats, deer, and wild turkey. He also managed the harvest data from over 350 hunt clubs. Mac managed the endangered species program and helped write the first state wide Safe Harbor Program in the nation for the management of red-cockaded woodpeckers. Nelson joined Newkirk Environmental, Inc. in 2015.
