Steve received his undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics from Boston College and his MS and Ph.D. in mathematics from The University of New Hampshire. His initial research interests involved mathematical modeling and the statistical analysis of cancer experiments. Steve has published research papers in several mathematics journals including Biometrics, Anticancer Research, and Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine. He has presented his results at the National Institutes of Health and at various national conferences. Steve has written several books and has been awarded grants from the National Science Foundation, the Center for Rural Pennsylvania, and the Ben Franklin Program. Steve taught for several years at Colgate University and then for thirty years at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where he was Director of the Honors Program for six years. He was awarded Professor Emeritus status from Bloomsburg University and continues to write and consult. Steve remains very active in the AP Calculus community. He is a former Chief Reader for the AP Calculus Reading and member of the Test Development Committee.
