Dorothea received her Bachelor of Arts degree at City University of New York in 1993 and earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University of New York in 1996. She is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and she is admitted to practice before all Courts within the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of NY.
Dorothea has been a key member of SCB Hellas since it was founded in 2005, and has headed up the office since December 2009. As General Manager, she is responsible for the day to day operations of the office while managing all P&I and FD&D claims related services provided by SCB Hellas for the American Club's membership throughout Greece, Turkey, Italy, Cyprus and the Mediterranean region. Dorothea has extensive experience and expertise in matters involving the full range of P&I claims, such as maritime personal injury, illness and death claims, collisions, wreck removals, cargo claims and SCOPIC claims as well as the most complex of FD&D disputes involving charter parties, shipbuilding contracts, ship sales and other maritime related agreements.
Prior to her role at SCB Hellas and the American Club, Dorothea was the Claims Manager and General Counsel at Allied Insurance Brokers Inc. from 1998 through 2005. During her tenure with Allied, she advised and directed the management of all marine insurance claims on behalf of the Greek shipowner clients, including P&I, FD&D, H&M, LOH and Strike covers placed through the brokerage.
Born in New York in 1971, Dorothea began her professional career in New York City in 1990 in medical insurance management. Her legal career initially involved a wide range of civil matters including medical malpractice, commercial property insurance, and general contract disputes and also served for a period assisting in the arraignment of misdemeanors in the Queens County Criminal Court in NY. After relocating to Greece in 1997, Dorothea became involved in International, European and Commercial law with a Greek law firm in Athens and shortly thereafter began her career in Maritime Law after joining a local Piraeus maritime law firm which eventually led to her specializing in Marine Insurance.

Emmanuel C. Alexandrou was born and raised in New York and completed his high school studies at the American Community Schools of Athens, later going on to graduate from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a B. Eng. in Marine Engineering. His postgraduate studies were started at the University of Glasgow & Strathclyde where he obtained an M.Sc. in Marine Technology and Sustainable Engineering. Following a series of years in the industry, then went on to obtain an M.B.A. in Shipping from the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration.
He has worked as a technical superintendent covering both wet and dry sector vessels involving projects such as VLCC conversion to FPSO, Single Skin Tanker conversion to Double Hull etc. He has established a number of businesses involve in renewable energy, real estate, steel construction and consultancy and currently holds the position of Operations Manager and Chief Research Analyst at Alkon Holding Inc.

George Xiradakis graduated from the Nautical Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos-Athens and he holds a diploma in Commercial Operations from City of London Polytechnic and an MSc in Maritime Studies from University of Wales.
In his banking carrier (1991-1998) he served as Vice President of Credit Lyonnais Shipping Group and Head of European Shipping finance activities and as Head of Greek, Indian and Middle East Shipping. In 1999 he founded XRTC Business Consultants and since then he has been the Managing Director of the Company. XRTC acted as Commercial Representative of the French Banks Credit Lyonnais (up to 2004) and Natixis (up to 2008). Since 2009, XRTC has been working closely with the Chinese ship finance market. In 2011 XRTC signed a Financial Consultancy Agreement with China Development Bank. XRTC has won the Greek Shipping Financier of the Year by Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Award 2010.
Mr. Xiradakis is a member of the Board of Directors of Paragon Shipping Inc (NASDAQ: PRGN). He also serves as the President of the Board of Governors of the International Propeller Club of the United States -International Port of Piraeus; he is also the General Secretary of the Association of Banking and Shipping Executives of Hellenic Shipping and a Board Member of the China-Greece Friendship Association. He is also member of Marine Club of Piraeus, HELMEPA, Member of the Mediterranean Committee of China Classification Society, Greece-China Chamber and member of President's Advisory Council of American College of Greece. Mr. Xiradakis was member of the Board of Directors of DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) from 2008 up to November 2015, also was a member of the Board of Directors of Aries Maritime Transport, which has since changed its name to NewLead Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ: NEWL). Mr. Xiradakis also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation and the first President of the National Center of Port Development.

Ilias Bissias, Director of NAFTIKA CHRONIKA Magazine and Member of the Research in Shipping and Ports Laboratory (RESHIP/ EDINALE) of the University of the Aegean, Visiting Lecturer at ALBA Graduate Business School Ilias G. Bissias is a lawyer, member of the Athens Bar and the Director of the acclaimed and award winning magazine shipping magazine Naftika Chronika (published since 1931) and a visiting lecturer in International Maritime Policy at the ALBA Graduate Business School in Athens. Since 2008 he is also a Research and Teaching Fellow at the University of the Aegean. In the past he has also worked for the European Commission (1999-2002) and held the position of legal correspondent for Greece in the areas of air transport law and policy.
He is co-author with Dr Thanos Pallis of Epilego Naftilia, the first Pan-Hellenic academic publication on the sociological profile of young students at Maritime and Marine Educational Institutions and Universities. He has also participated in various programs and academic researches on Contemporary Maritime Politics and History, Maritime Education and on the Social Image of Shipping. In 2009 he was invited by the US State Department to visit the US on the IV Leadership Program. His trip focused on Maritime education and crisis/ disaster management in specific States with maritime tradition. Ilias holds a Bachelor and Master's Degree in Law from the University of London (LSE).

Jason Scholey has a BA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, and joined the UKHO in 1993 as a Graduate Trainee. After two years spent working within various Chart Branches, Jason moved to the UKHO's project team where he was involved in the IHO's development of S-57 and the ENC Product Specification. Jason then worked as a member of the UKHO team responsible for the development of the UKHO's first ENC production flowline, including the delivery of the IHO's ENC test datasets.
Several years as a project manager for business system developments was followed by a move to the management of commercial opportunities for the wider use of hydrographic information whereby Jason supported the UK Government, providing specialist advice during the development of policies for the wider user of hydrographic information, such as the Government's Marine Bill.
Jason is Product Manager for AVCS (the Admiralty Vector Chart Service). Since its launch in April 2008, UKHO has been rapidly increasing ENC coverage within AVCS to ensure the trade routes between 1,795 ports worldwide are covered. It has also been continuously improving the service in direct response to customer feedback.

Katerina is currently working as a shipping consultant and as course director for Lloyd?s Maritime Aacademy. She was for a number of years the Head of the Shipping, Transport & Logistics Department at BCA College of Athens (Greece) which collaborates with London Metropolitan University (UK). Her extensive teaching experience has been gained at various colleges and universities, lecturing on undergraduate courses in shipping, maritime business and related subjects.
She also has many years? experience as an industry consultant, working in Greece and the UK on varied projects in national and international shipping and logistics. Katerina holds a degree in Maritime Business and Maritime Law from University of Plymouth (UK). Prior to this she studies Business & Finance at North Hertfordshire College (UK). Her postgraduate studies include International Shipping at the University of Plymouth (UK) and Maritime Studies with International Transport at the University of Piraeus (Greece). She is currently working on her PhD at Plymouth University. Katerina is also a member of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), Women?s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and the Hellenic Association of Maritime Economists (HAME).
Her research focuses on shipping policy and strategy, logistics, freight analysis and vessel sale and purchase. She is the author of articles and papers in a range of magazines and newspapers as well as being a reviewer for Maritime Policy & Management Journal. She is a respected participant in various shipping & logistics Forums and Forums.

Mr. George A. Tsavliris was born in London. He graduated from Athens College in 1968 and having acquired professional qualifications in Shipping (F.I.C.S., ACI.Arb), he concluded his graduate and post graduate studies in Shipping Law at University College London in 1973, with an L.L.M. degree. In 2009 he was qualified as a Mediator at the ADR Group London and in 2014 was certified as a Mediator by the Greek Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights.
He familiarized himself with the shipping and salvage sectors from a very early age by being engaged in the family business. George is a Principal at "Tsavliris Salvage Group" and represents the business on both a commercial and environmental basis internationally. He holds the position of Past Chairman of INTERMEPA (International Marine Environment Protection Association), Chairman of CYMEPA (Cyprus Marine Environmental Protection Association), which received the "Cyprus Maritime Prize 2007", as well as member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Union of Shipowners and Honorary Chairman of the Tsavliris Cultural Foundation. Furthermore, Mr. George Tsavliris was awarded the 2016 Capital Link Greek Shipping Leadership Award, in recognition of his unique and extensive contribution to Shipping and Greece and for his overall outstanding service to the shipping industry made by him individually, as a family and by his company as a Group.
George is a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at numerous maritime related conferences. He is an avid supporter of various charities, an art and music enthusiast and has completed ten London marathons. He is a father of six children.

Spyros Zolotas is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, graduate of the National Technical University of Athens. After some further post-graduate academic experiences in Greece and abroad, as well as a period of employment with a major engine manufacturer, he joined RINA as exclusive marine surveyor in 1996.
At this position and after a training period at RINA Head Office in Genoa, Italy, he followed various projects of ships in service, as well as newbuildings in Greece, the Black Sea, Rotterdam, Istanbul and others. He is an ISO, as well as ISM, Security and ILO Auditor. From the beginning of 2004, Mr. Zolotas was appointed as Head of RINA Piraeus Office, responsible for the technical management of the Society and its network of surveyors in the area.
As from 2010, he has taken the position of RINA Country Manager, Greece, having today the technical and commercial responsibility of the area covering Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon and Israel.
Under his management, the presence of RINA in Greece was strengthened with the reinforcement of RINA Piraeus Marine, the establishment of the Engineering Center, the Yachting Team and recently, the Piraeus Training Center. Mr. Zolotas is the author of two technical books and various articles, member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and Chartered Engineer, as well as European Engineer with FEANI.

Thanos Pallis is Ass. Professor (Jean Monnet in European Port Policy) at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport, University of the Aegean, and the Secretary General of MedCruise, the association representing more than 100 cruise ports in the Med and its adjoining seas. He has served as General Secretary for Ports & Port Policy, at the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness and Shipping, Hellenic Republic, and as Fulbright Scholar at the Centre for Energy, Marine Transportation & Public Policy (CEMTPP), Columbia University, New York, US. A regular advisor on maritime and port affairs of several international organisations, including UNCTAD, the OECD and European Commission, and national governments, he co-directors the knowledge dissemination web initiative PortEconomics. Thanos has teaching experience in maritime education programs in Canada, Belgium, and the US, and since 2009 he has embarked in the study of marine and maritime education in Greece and beyond. His effort have led to a series of scholarly publications and of the co-authoring (with I. Bissias) of the book ‘Epilego Naftilia' (2010).
