Bonnie Harken leads the consulting services of Nautilus International Development Consulting. She is at the forefront of developing urban strategies for climate change challenges around the world and specializes in combining profitable development with high quality urban design and long-term sustainable planning. Clients benefit from the multi-dimensional perspective Harken brings to projects and from her skill in solving complex urban problems. Harken is an internationally-recognized expert in sustainable waterfront revitalization and downtown development, advising clients around the globe, speaking regularly at international conferences and at the United Nations, and publishing widely. Harken's 35 years of experience have helped shape many successful, award-winning developments on urban waterfronts, ranging from Battery Park City and SW Brooklyn in New York to the GM Global Headquarters in Detroit. Her work has won national and international awards for design excellence and professional achievement. Harken is a registered architect in New York State. She studied environmental design at the Parsons School of Design, real estate finance at New York University, and holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University.
