Dr. Amy Edgar

Dr. Edgar is Northgate Small Animal's Managing Veterinarian. Dr. Edgar was born in Belleville, Illinois, and raised in Millstadt, Illinois. She graduated from Althoff Catholic High School in 1995 and went on to earn a bachelor of science from the University of Illinois in Animal Science in 1999 and in Veterinary Medicine in 2002. In 2005, she graduated from the University of Illinois-College of Veterinary Medicine and started practicing shortly after graduation. She has a special interest in Dermatology issues and is a member of AAVD (American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology). Dr. Edgar enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite sports teams are the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting ILLINI. She and her husband, Eric, have a black lab named Charlie.

Dr. Jamie Kennedy

Dr. Jamie Kennedy grew up on a small farm in Farina, IL. She attended Greenville College where she earned her degree in Biology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After veterinary school, she entered into private practice where she has worked with a variety of patients from bulls to ball pythons. She is passionate about client education, soft tissue surgery, and exotic pet medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning new things, and spending time outside.

Dr. Lucas Stahlheber

Dr. Stahlheber joined the Northgate crew in April of 2008. He attended Southern Illinois University from 1998 to 2002. He then went on to the University of Illinois and graduated in 2006 with his doctorate in veterinary medicine. Prior to joining us here at Northgate, he worked for two years at a mixed animal practice in Jerseyville, IL. He has two mixed-breed dogs, Calvin and Sophie, both of whom were obtained from the Humane Society. His wife Kristin is also a veterinarian. His hobbies include hiking, playing the guitar, and photography.

Dr. Rebecca Miller

A returning local, Dr. Miller was born and raised in Lebanon, IL. She graduated from Belleville East High School in 2011 before attending the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned her degree in animal sciences in 2016 and doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2021. Her passions include feline medicine and behavior, diagnostic radiology, as well as client education and communication. A self proclaimed crazy cat lady, Dr. Miller spends her free time enriching her cat clowder - Beauty Beans, Gracie Goo, Moon Bee, and Sunny Bunny at home with her loving partner, Edgar. Her hobbies include restoring childhood homes, relaxing with her nose in a book, and prioritizing self-growth through daily mindfulness and meditation.

Kirstin Clenney

Kirstin joined Northgate in July of 2007. She graduated from the veterinary technician program at Sanford-Brown College in September of 2009. She was promoted to the position of Lead Technician in January of 2016 and Assistant Hospital Manager in May of 2020. Kirstin became our Hospital Manager in January 2022. She has one pet, a cat named Tempurra, and in her free time enjoys camping, traveling, and being around friends and family.
