Dr. Lawrence Colen

Dr. Lawrence Colen is a plastic surgeon who sub-specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, body, and breast, and reconstructive surgery of the breast. He currently practices in Norfolk just minutes from Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth. Dr. Colen graduated from Colgate University in 1972, where he was awarded membership to the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society for academic achievement. A graduate of the Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1975, Dr. Colen went on to do his residency training in general surgery and plastic surgery at the University of California San Francisco from 1975 to 1983. Upon completion of his Plastic Surgery Residency in 1983, he was invited back to Dartmouth Medical School as Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Colen came to the Tidewater Area in the spring of 1990 from Dartmouth to practice with the Horton Adamson Plastic Surgery Group and to assume a position with the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) as Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery and residency training program director. While continuing his affiliation with EVMS, Dr. Colen went into practice on his own in 1994. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Colen continues to publish articles in Plastic Surgery professional literature and to contribute to the texts of several medical textbooks. In 1994 he was the first recipient of the National Godina Fellowship Award in Microsurgery. Dr. Colen regularly presents at symposia for plastic surgeons, while he continues to develop his own expertise at the most recent and innovative approaches in plastic surgery. The emphasis of Dr. Colen's practice is the pursuit of technical perfection in plastic surgery procedures that is based on classical theory.

Dr. Theodore Uroskie

Dr. Theodore Uroskie, Jr. is a plastic surgeon who sub-specializes in post bariatric body contouring and reconstructive surgery of the breast. He currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his family and practices in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Uroskie received his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University in 1991 with a major in Chemistry and graduated Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Uroskie went on to do his residency training in General Surgery and Surgical Research at Eastern Virginia Medical School from 1995 through 2001, where he received multiple recognitions including Outstanding Chief Resident in June of 2001. Dr. Uroskie then went on to Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine for his Fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Upon completion of his training at The Mayo Clinic in the summer of 2003, Dr. Uroskie returned to the Tidewater Area to join in practice with Dr. Lawrence Colen and serve as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery with Eastern Virginia Medical School. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Uroskie has published numerous articles in Plastic Surgery professional literature and was elected by his peers to serve as Chairman for the Department of Plastic Surgery at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in 2005. Dr. Uroskie has earned membership in multiple professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and works diligently to continue the development of his own expertise in the most recent and innovative approaches in plastic surgery.
