Kate Pomper Pruitt is a skilled and experienced member of the Firm concentrating her practice in Real Estate and Banking and Estate Planning and Administration, as well as litigation preparation. Her focus in real estate is in the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate. In the process of handling real estate closings, Ms. Pruitt examines land titles, drafts contracts, and prepares closing documents. Lenders in commercial loan transactions rely on Ms. Pruitt's experience in handling conventional loans, drafting loan documents, and coordinating loan documentation. Lawrence N. Taub has been representing local and national developers, builders, businesses and property owners in land use and zoning matters for over thirty years. Mr. Taub represents his clients before administrative, legislative and judicial bodies to obtain all required approvals for a wide range of developments, including mixed-use and transit-oriented projects, retail centers, office complexes, single-family and multi-family residential developments, senior housing projects, private schools, religious institutions, sand and gravel mining operations, and solid waste facilities. Leonard L. Lucchi is a registered lobbyist who represents business owners, trade groups, and local governments before the Maryland General Assembly and the United States Congress. Mr. Lucchi's scope of representation includes lobbying, tracking pending or proposed legislative activities and analyzing the effects of those pieces of legislation on client matters, drafting legislation, organizing and mobilizing coalitions in support or opposition to pending or proposed legislation, effectively utilizing media outlets to support client initiatives, and testifying on behalf of clients before various legislative committees. During his thirty years as a legislative advocate, Mr. Lucchi has helped to shape legislation on behalf of his business and corporate clients that creates or enhances the marketplace for their goods and services. For example, Mr. Lucchi persuaded the Maryland General Assembly to pass a law requiring the installation of carbon-monoxide detectors in new residential construction. The passage of this bill created a new market for his client, a major manufacturer of carbon monoxide detectors. In addition to his representation of business owners, Mr. Lucchi has represented trade groups such as solar power manufacturers, mobile home park owners, and food delivery franchisees and has helped to guide them through the legislative process. Nathaniel A. Forman is a member of the Firm concentrating in the areas of Administrative Law and Government Relations, where he focuses his practice in land use & zoning, government relations and administrative proceedings. As a judicial clerk, Mr. Forman was instrumental in researching and drafting a number of opinions, including the Memorandum Opinion in City of Hyattsville v. County Council; in a land use matter in which the Court reversed a detailed site plan decision made by the District Council and remanded the matter back to the District Council with instructions. Mr. Forman also served at the Criminal Practice Clinic at the University of Baltimore where he performed prosecutorial duties as lead attorney, under supervision, including conducting trials, status hearings, interviewing victims and witnesses, legal research, and docket preparation. William M. Shipp has been immersed in all areas of land use and zoning practice in Prince George's County for over thirty years. Through his extensive involvement in every level of the development process, Mr. Shipp has successfully assisted his developer, builder, and business owner clients with issues related to zoning, historic preservation, master plan analysis, preliminary plan and subdivision, site plan approvals, nonconforming use certification, permit and bonding, road improvements, adequate public facilities, and the resolution of zoning violations.
