Dr. Amanda Demsey is originally from Kitchener, Ontario but happily calls Nova Scotia home after pursuing both her undergraduate and dental degrees at Dalhousie. Following graduation, she practiced in St. John's, NL before returning to the Halifax area and joining the team at Nova Dental. Beyond just focusing on teeth, Dr. Demsey cares about her patients' overall wellbeing and does her utmost to ensure all appointments are as comfortable as possible. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and especially loves the family focus of Nova Dental, from first patient visits with toddlers to accommodating elderly patients in our wheelchair-accessible operatories. Dr. Demsey regularly attends conferences and conventions to stay up-to-date with the newest in dental techniques and materials. Aside from practicing dentistry, she fills her time with reading, running, camping and travelling.
Even from a young age, Dr. Amanda Miller knew she would pursue a career as a dentist. "Dentistry allows me to care for the well-being of my patients, and equips me with the skills to make my patients feel better about their smiles and themselves." Dr. Miller enjoys the challenges and rewards of daily practice and encourages an open forum with her patients. She strives to provide a comfortable and caring environment and believes even the most fearful patient can have a positive experience at the dentist.
Dr. Miller attended both the University of New Brunswick and Dalhousie University, where she completed her Bachelor degree in Science and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She is committed to staying informed about new technology and techniques through continuing education courses and is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Miller was born in Oromocto, New Brunswick and has lived most of her life in the Maritimes. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys running, traveling, swimming and is learning how to play golf.
As far back as Emily can remember visiting the dentist herself, she knew she wanted to become a dentist. Growing up in a small town in rural Nova Scotia, Emily completed her Biology degree at Acadia University, and immediately turned her focus to the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She graduated in 2014, worked at a busy family practice in Newfoundland for the following two years, and then made the move to Calgary in June of 2016. Emily is excited to make the move back home and offer her services to members of the surrounding community. Emily is focused on giving each individual patient the best care that modern dentistry offers as well as a positive experience; she thrives on delivering treatment in a patient focused manner.
Dr. Kaur was born and raised in India. She obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from India in 2003. Dr. Kaur moved to Canada with her family in 2010 and pursued the qualification process for internationally trained dentists in Canada. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University, in 2019. Following her DDS, she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) in 2020 at Dalhousie. During her Residency, she gained advanced training in general dentistry, emphasizing surgery, hospital dentistry, medically complex patients, medical emergencies, sedation and public health. She is currently a part-time clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie, educating the next generation of dentists. Dr. Kaur emphasizes comprehensive dental care with a focus on preventive care. She is a firm believer in the delivery of ethical, comprehensive care and patient education.
Dr. Kaur lives in Halifax with her husband and two young girls. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and explores the great outdoors of our province.
Dr. Tesia Rolle was born in Vancouver, B.C. and raised between Nassau, The Bahamas and Halifax, NS. She pursued her post-secondary education at Dalhousie University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. During her time at Dalhousie, Dr. Rolle was awarded the International College of Dentists award and the Dr. Bruce N. Fergusson Memorial award for exceptional leadership, character, and scholarship.
