The Board of the NYTHA is made up of five Owner/Directors, five Trainer/Directors and the President, all of whom are elected to three-year terms by the NYTHA membership. NYTHA maintains a full-time staff dedicated to serving the membership. Our horsemen have found these individuals to be knowledgeable, professional, and a reliable resource... For over half a century, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NYTHA) has represented the interests of Thoroughbred owners and trainers at New York Racing Association (NYRA) tracks. NYTHA was founded with the objective of serving as a collective voice for the broad interests of New York's horsemen, and to improve and increase the effectiveness of its constituents in the day-to-day business of racing. Today, NYTHA serves as the New York State Gaming Commission's recognized representative of owners and trainers, striving to protect the economic interests of all horsemen and to gain public recognition of horse racing as a vital industry,..
