OHAEAWAI HOTEL

Steeped in history, Ohaeawai (historically called Taiamai) is situated at the junction of State Highways 1 & 12, on what is locally known as 'The Crossroads'... Just as in times past, this apparently sleepy Village is still a major stop for locals and visitors alike... Ohaeawai is very convenient to the Twin Coast Cycle Trail from Bay of Islands to the Hokianga. The 13km first stage of the cycleway from nearby Kaikohe to Okaihau opened in 2011.
