Bethany Saunders

Beth is a full-time employee at Old Dominion Equine Associates. She joined the team in July 2022 and is responsible for a variety of duties in the office, including processing your horses' lab work, placing orders for clients and inventory, marketing, and more. Beth grew up in a family that loved horses and animals of all kinds, and now owns a beautiful Clydesdale cross gelding named Maverick. Maverick lives on a friend's farm where Beth, her sister, and friend enjoy riding in the trails in their spare time. When she's not at work, you'll find Beth with her dogs, Maverick, or her Nigerian Dwarf goats. Beth's life's passion is taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes.

Dee DuLac

Dee was raised in Minnesota and her family was an influence for her passion for the outdoors and animals. Her parents boarded horses for several years and her sister was an owner/instructor of a riding school for all ages. Dee has lived in Virginia for most of her life after graduating from the University of St. Thomas. Dee moved to Gordonsville two years ago and she has recently joined Old Dominion Equine as office support. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, hiking, gardening and playing tennis. Her and her other half enjoy their three dogs and doing anything outdoors.

Dr. Carly Mayer

Following her 2015 graduation from the Virginia - Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Carly Mayer joined the Old Dominion Equine team. Carly has a strong interest in both routine and specialized dentistry and has completed extensive continuing education in this field. She also has an interest in general health and wellness, lameness, and reproduction. Dr. Mayer's years of study in the life sciences include an undergraduate degree in Biology, received while attending James Madison University. Carly's graduate education includes a master's degree in Bioinformatics - received while attending Virginia Commonweath University. Her supplemental education includes work on the Equine Genome Project - conducted for the University of Kentucky - and research work on the Human Microbiome Project conducted by the Medical College of Virginia. Carly is a native Virginian and passionate equestrian; Carly is an active member of the Keswick Hunt Club and competes in the Hunter/Jumpers. Other interests include water skiing, snow skiing and recreational running. Molly spent her childhood in Harwood, Maryland, and later moved to Blacksburg, Virginia, where she pursued her education at Virginia Tech. After four years of studies, she successfully earned her bachelor's degree in animal and poultry sciences. She gained an interest in horses while working for Virginia Tech's equine facilities during her undergraduate studies. Looking ahead, Molly envisions attending veterinarian school with a particular passion for working with large animals. Beyond her academic pursuits, Molly finds joy in outdoor activities including water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, and running, often accompanied by her dog, Dixie.

Dr. Libby Goldstein

Dr. Libby Goldstein is originally from Martinsville, Virginia. She completed her bachelor's in animal science at Cornell University and went on to graduate from Auburn University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She is interested in sports medicine but is eager to explore the many aspects of equine practice. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs: Mo, a Basset Hound and Jax, a Jack Russell / Rat Terrier cross. She has a retired event horse, Hattie, and is hoping to return to the three-day eventing and fox hunting worlds in the near future.

Dr. Payge Fleming

Dr. Payge Fleming joined Old Dominion Equine Associates in 2020. She's originally from Northern California where she received her BS in Animal Science at the University of California - Davis. Payge then went on to complete her Doctorate at the University of Kansas-College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Following her schooling, Payge completed a private practice equine internship at Park Equine Hospital in Lexington Kentucky. During her internship, she was involved with a broad spectrum of cases and developed a strong interest in internal medicine, neonatal medicine, lameness, and preventive care. In her spare time, Payge enjoys long-distance running with her dog Barley and riding her Appendix horse Colt. Growing up in Fluvanna, Emily's journey into the equine world began at just 3 years old when her first mini, Poohbear, trotted into her life. Since then, her passion for horses and riding has only grown. At 6, she started catch riding and competing in hunter jumper shows with the help of her amazing trainers and some incredible ponies, like Stormy and Jaden, who still hold a special place in her heart. Currently, Emily has taken a step back from riding, filling the missed saddle time with her newfound love: her work here at Old Dominion Equine. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, reading, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her canine pals, Mojo and Ranger, along with her childhood pony, Shaq, and her OTTB Mare, Doc.

Jean Byerly

Job Titles:

Jean was born in the USVI where she got her fist pony. Upon moving to Florida, she rode her Appaloosa with the Tuscawilla Pony Club in Micanopy. She enjoyed eventing, tetrathlon, gymkhana and riding trails. Jean graduated from Averett College in Danville, VA with a BS in Equestrian Studies/Business Administration. From there she moved to southern Albemarle County to work for The Kluge's and has lived in Virginia ever since. Jean worked the front desk at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic for 16 years before retiring to assist family. During that time, she volunteered at several organizations in Greene and worked for the Greene Care Clinic. Jean is happy to be back full-time serving the equestrian community, joining Old Dominion Equine in March 2023.

JEFFREY S. BESHEAR

A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Beshear is a graduate of Duke University and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After moving to the Charlottesville area in 2000 to pursue his interest in sport horse medicine, Jeff co-founded Old Dominion Equine Associates with Dr Keith Brady in 2002.

Katelyn Dugan

Katelyn Dugan is originally from Catonsville, Maryland where she grew up riding in the hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. She received her BS in Biology at Bridgewater College in 2020. She is currently a 4th year veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine with an expected graduation date in May of 2024. Katelyn loves all aspects of equine medicine but has a particular interest in sports medicine and reproduction. In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys hiking, painting, riding, and anything outdoors.

Kaylee Eberle

Kaylee is originally from Long Island, NY but moved to Virginia to complete an internship for her Bachelors degree in Equine Science. After spending some time as a groom and barn manager, Kaylee found herself with Old Dominion and quickly realized she had a love for veterinary medicine. Kaylee has been riding for over 10 years, and loves spending time at the barn with her mare, Quinn. While in school, Kaylee rode in both huntseat equitation and reining, as well as competed on the IHSA team. When she's not working, or at the barn, Kaylee can be found spending time with her other furbabies or reading a good book.

KEITH F. BRADY

Dr. Brady is an FEI accredited veterinarian with emphasis on pre-purchase exams and lameness in both sport horses and Thoroughbreds. Whether you have the ultimate athlete or the ultimate couch potato, Dr. Brady excels at developing a plan for optimizing your horse's comfort and performance. Dr. Brady has developed a reputation for thorough pre-purchase examinations based on his familiarity with sports the horses compete in. He has vetted numerous 6 and 7 figure horses. He is also experienced in issues regarding the international movement of equines. Keith co-founded Old Dominion Equine Associates in 2002, a practice that has become a well-respected veterinary group. He has treated horses at numerous international competitions including: The National Horse Show at Madison Square Gardens in New York (1996-2001), The Asian Games in Guangzhou, China (2010), Pardubice CCI*** in the Czech Republic (2011), and the 2012 Olympic Games, London, England. He also attends many horse competitions around the country. Dr. Brady is often available to perform purchase examinations with just a few days notice. Melissa Robertson

Melissa joined Old Dominion Equine in 2006 as the only full-time office employee and now she is our very busy practice manager. Melissa is involved in every aspect of the business whether it's client services, patient care, human resources, financial supervision or supporting the practice owners. She has enjoyed seeing the practice grow over the years and is excited to be involved in the future of ODEA! Melissa is a native to central Virginia. When she is not at the office, you can find her on many fun and crazy adventures with her husband, two young boys, and their family dog Piper. She has a passion for growing her own food/herbs and has recently taught herself how to make sourdough bread and other fermented foods.

Riley Twyman

Riley was raised on her family farm in Orange, Virginia, where she developed a deep love for the equestrian world. Foxhunting and competing in hunter/jumper equitation alongside her family ignited her passion for horses. At home, she cares for four horses, with her beloved Choctaw Pony, Missi, holding a special place in her heart. Currently, Riley is enrolled in an online program to obtain her Veterinary Technician license, with the goal of advancing her career in equine medicine. When she is not tending to her horses or studying, she can be found assisting her family at their Winery nearby or enjoying quality time with her friends.

TIFFANY M. SNELL

Dr. Snell joined the Old Dominion Equine Associates team in 2010. Hailing from Northern California, Tiffany graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2004 with a BS in cellular biology and from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 with an equine emphasis. Tiffany's veterinary focuses include chiropractic, acupuncture, and wound repair/field surgery.
