Farah Ahmed is a life-long Texan, having grown up in Houston and started her career in family law in Dallas, and finally settling and starting a family in the Austin area. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 2007. Farah has practiced family law exclusively since obtaining her Texas law license in 2008, and has practiced in Williamson County since 2009. She knows and understands the judges and courts in Williamson County well. In addition to representing spouses, parents, grandparents and children, Farah is also an experienced Mediator and has successfully mediated numerous family law cases. Farah understands that the stakes are always high in family law. Even the simplest family law case involves the most important aspects of life-one's closest relationships, parents, grandparents, children, finances and possessions. A judge's decision can have a lasting impact on our clients and their families. That's why Farah is committed to helping her clients navigate the complexities of family law armed with the right information, prudent advice and her compassionate support. She shares Ms. Brown's philosophy of carefully listening to each client's unique, individual circumstance with empathy and sensitivity, and to treat clients as she would wish to be treated herself. Because of her unique background and skill set, Farah has attracted numerous clients from South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. She respects and understands the cultural nuances and values that are integral to South Asian families. Williamson County, including Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Round Rock, Hutto and Taylor has attracted many South Asia families. Farah lives in the Austin hill country with her husband and 2 young sons and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is fluent in Hindi and Urdu, spoken widely in South Asia.

Julia Rapp has been an employee with Patricia L. Brown & Associates since 2005, working as a paralegal since 2006. Julia is now board certified, having passed the challenging Texas Board of Legal Specialization's family law paralegal exam. She truly enjoys her work and the function of helping clients through the difficult situations they face. Julia focuses principally on family law issues. Julia grew up in the northeast, primarily in upstate New York, before finally settling in Austin in 1998. Kathryn "Kat" Young

Kathryn "Kat" Young is our Client Services Specialist and is responsible for ensuring new and potential clients feel welcome and at home when they contact our firm. Kat joined our team in March 2018 and you will find Kat's friendly and smiling face at our front desk and answering your calls. Kat has a passion for helping others that along with her calm, professional, and kind demeanor, serves her well as the face of our office. Kat is a child of divorce and understands the many challenges and anxiety that divorce can bring to a family, particularly children. She recently married and shares her passion for adventure with her husband, Aaron, and their dog, Bailey.

Paula Israel

Paula was born and raised in Austin, a true and rare native. Paula's parents went through a very contentious divorce when she was very young which developed in Paula a need to advocate for children of divorce and empathy for clients going through divorce. Paula has always had a love of the law and began working for her first law firm in 1995, focusing on child support enforcement. She has worked for attorneys and county offices continuously since then, including working in a county passport office. Her long and diverse experiences have made her invaluable to clients. Paula is a board-certified family law paralegal, having passed the challenging Texas Board of Legal Specialization's paralegal exam in 2015. Less than one percent of all paralegals in Texas are board-certified in family law. Paula has worked for Patricia L. Brown & Associates since 2002. She focuses almost exclusively on family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, modifications, asset disposition, adoption, etc. Paula has two adult children, whom she raised as a single mom. She is grateful to have had so many family and friends support her in her endeavors, as well as in the raising of her children.
