David brings 18 years of talent recruitment experience to Orion Search Group. With broad experience in placing talent with Industrial, Product Development, Medical Device, Consulting Engineering, and Technology firms, David has been successful at finding top performers for his clients through a deep understanding of their business and the culture that drives it. He focuses on national searches for Minnesota and other Midwest-based clients in the areas of Engineering, Technology, Construction, Healthcare, and Accounting/Finance.
Originally from St. Paul, David received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science and International Business from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He is a member of the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Associated General Contractors of Minnesota (AGC), Manufacturers Alliance, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and the MNTRN. David lives in Edina with his wife and daughter.
David's experience gives him a broad understanding of the industry from a national perspective. Since 1997, he's been involved in every aspect of recruitment from research to account management to business development. While his client partners have spanned the country, his current focus is on local to national searches for primarily Minnesota-based client partners.
Specializing in new business development, recruiting and account management for Orion Search Group, David supports client partners in construction, engineering/architecture, real estate development, manufacturing, technology, and accounting/finance.
Originally from Chaska, David received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota (Evans Scholar). He is a member of Associated General Contractors of Minnesota (AGC), Manufacturers Alliance, Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and a board member for the Minnesota Technical Recruiters Network (MNTRN).
David lives in Eagan with his wife, Kyle, and two children.
Joel joins Orion Search Group with extensive experience in professional services, nonprofit management, and recruiting. His background as an attorney and nonprofit executive gives him a deep understanding of professional service providers. He brings broad experience placing leadership talent in organizations across governmental and nonprofit sectors. With Orion, Joel supports client partners in mission-driven sectors as well as construction, engineering/architecture, real estate development, manufacturing, technology, and accounting/finance. He also works with individual leaders as they navigate their own career journey.
Originally from Edina, Joel received his bachelor's degree in History from the University of Minnesota where he was an Evans Scholar. He also received his juris doctor degree from New York University School of Law. He practiced law in New York and Minnesota before pivoting to a career in nonprofit leadership and recruiting. His work as an attorney and a professional fundraiser gives him appreciation for the needs of clients and an abiding respect for the impact recruiters can have on candidates.
