Andrew Lewis is widely respected for his thoughtful and incisive work, expressed through clear, sharp writing and a meticulous attention to detail. He practices as a litigator in a wide variety of employment, civil, commercial and administrative matters.
In employment law, Andrew is frequently consulted in contract negotiations as well as termination and constructive dismissal. Andrew Lokan is a distinguished advocate in the areas of constitutional law, administrative law, aboriginal law, labour and employment law, and complex commercial litigation. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in more than 25 cases that have defined the rights of Canadians and the limits of government powers and frequently appears before other appellate and trial courts.
Andrew has published widely on public law, and is a frequent speaker on the subject. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, which he has frequently represented on a pro bono basis, and he teaches constitutional litigation at Osgoode Hall Law School. Braxton Murphy joined Paliare Roland as an associate after working as a summer student and an articling student at the firm. Braxton has a growing civil litigation practice with a focus on professional regulation, labour and employment, commercial litigation, and defamation law.
Prior to joining the firm, Braxton conducted research in mental health law and worked in the civil litigation department of a prominent mental health hospital. As a law student at the University of Toronto, Braxton received awards for his advocacy in a labour arbitration competition and his writing on intersectional discrimination. In 2022, he earned his JD with distinction.

Catherine Fan joined Paliare Roland as an associate after clerking for the judges of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Catherine brings sharp focus and analysis to her work advising employees, trade unions, and organizations, and commonly acts on workplace and public law issues before administrative tribunals and the courts. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law where she teaches Legal Research & Writing.
Catherine graduated with honours from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she won prizes for oral advocacy in the Gale Cup moot, and academic prizes in areas including labour and employment, civil liberties, and constitutional law.

Chloe Hendrie joined Paliare Roland as an associate in 2021 after working for the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General as a student and as Crown counsel. She is a thoughtful and strategic problem solver who brings a pragmatic approach to her work. Chloe has a growing litigation practice and has acted for clients on a range of civil, public, and administrative law disputes. She previously served as counsel to the Commissioner of the City of Hamilton's Red Hill Valley Parkway Inquiry.
Chloe graduated with honours from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she received awards for overall academic achievement and highest standing in trial advocacy, legal process, and family law. While at Osgoode, she volunteered as a caseworker with the Fair Change Community Services legal clinic, which offers pro bono help to street-involved people in fighting their provincial offence tickets, and at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic.

Claire McNevin is an associate with a wide range of experience in commercial and estates litigation. Dan is an accomplished advocate with a practice focused on commercial disputes, employment law, and public law. He has represented clients successfully in complex applications, arbitrations, and appeals involving issues such as shareholder disputes, commercial insolvencies, and real estate matters.
Deanna Watters is a senior law clerk, focused primarily on corporate and commercial litigation. She has experience in all phases of the litigation process, with exceptional expertise in the area of e-discovery. This includes utilizing e-discovery review platforms and document identification/management through to production, often for multi-party matters. This allows Deanna to play an integral role in some of the firm's most complex and high-stakes litigation cases.
Deanna has expertise in civil litigation and is recognized as a certified civil litigation expert by the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario. Don Eady is an experienced labour lawyer who has made significant contributions to labour law in Canada. As union-side counsel, he has considerable expertise in collective bargaining, labour board matters, grievance and interest arbitrations and strike-related legal matters. Don has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and all levels of courts in Ontario, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Don was counsel to the Ontario Public Service Employees Union in the Walkerton Inquiry.

Douglas Montgomery joined the firm as an associate after clerking with the Honourable Michael J. Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada. Emily Lawrence is the Managing Partner of Paliare Roland and maintains a busy litigation practice. She has substantial expertise in professional regulation, pension litigation, employment and labour law, constitutional litigation, civil disputes, and privacy matters. Emily is recognized as an expert in administrative law, as counsel appearing before numerous administrative law tribunals, the co-author of a book on administrative law practice, a sought-after presenter on the topic, and adjunct faculty in administrative law at Osgoode Hall Law School. Emma Wall joined Paliare Roland as an associate after working as a summer and articling student with the firm. Emma maintains a diverse and growing litigation practice, working on civil, commercial, employment, constitutional and Indigenous legal matters.
