Carol Johns

Carol has worked in law firms in Christchurch for the past 30 years. She started out as a Legal Assistant and completed her legal executive studies in 2000. Carol served on the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives Committee for 7 years and during that time she was Canterbury/Westland Branch President and a member of the NZILE National Council. Carol is passionate about her profession and enjoys helping clients achieve their goals. Carol's main interests outside of work are her family and friends, gardening and shopping. Emma Jackson

Emma joined Papprills in October 2019 as a Senior Associate. Emma has 20 years' experience in Commercial and Property areas with a specialty in subdivisions, sale and purchases, leases and financing. Acquisitions, sales and restructuring of businesses together with succession planning are also key competencies. Career highlights to date include advising on flagship commercial and residential subdivisions, acting on sales and purchases of large South Island high-country stations and acting for two large irrigation companies on all parts of their expansion projects: product disclosure statements, issue of shares, financing and property access. Away from work, Emma enjoys cooking, hiking and entertaining friends and spending as much time as possible with her husband and three children. Jackie Daniel

Jackie joined the team at Papprills in October 2021 coming from a 10 year aviation background working in various roles. During this time she travelled the world and visited countries and cities that she never thought to have visited. It was in the last couple of years of this career that she decided to take on study in an area that sparked an interest to her. She commenced her Diploma in Legal Executive Studies in order to pursue a new career in the legal world and graduated in July 2021. She is also an affiliate member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. Jackie specialises in property matters including residential conveyancing and private client matters including estate administration, wills and trusts. Outside of the office Jackie is usually out socialising, travelling or getting into the outdoors hiking and walking. Jeffrey McCall

Jeff has been a Partner at Papprills since 1990 and has over thirty years of experience in the litigation field. Jeff is a Notary Public and is available for notarisation of documents by appointment. Jeff is also admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of the Cook Islands. Jeff provides an advisory and legal role to the Secretary of Health and Health Executive of the Ministry of Health, Cook Islands. Jeff is a member of the Abuse in Care Inquiry Legal Assistance Panel.

Sydney Kininmonth

Sydney joined Papprills in July 2021 as a Law Clerk and progressed to Solicitor after being admitted to the bar in December 2021. Sydney studied at the University of Canterbury and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminal Justice in 2021. Sydney specialises in residential property, Wills and relationship property. Sydney has a particular interest in assisting first home buyers enter the property ladder. Sydney is also a member of the Canterbury Women's Legal Association. Outside of the office, Sydney enjoys socialising with friends and family, travelling and trying her hand at sewing.
