Angela Gosselin - CFO, SVP

Angela Gosselin is Chief Financial Officer at Matrix, managing the company's finance and risk strategies. She oversees the finance, contracts and procurement, legal and enterprise risk management organizations of Matrix. Angela joined Matrix in 2013 as Director of Finance, and became Vice President, Finance, Contracts and Procurement in 2017. Angela holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Calgary and a Master of Professional Accounting degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She received her Chartered Accountant designation in 2005 and has over 15 years of financial experience in a variety of industries, including brokerage regulation, investment banking, technology, and oil and gas services. For the past 15 years she has also volunteered and served on two non-profit boards in the child abuse and domestic violence prevention sectors.

Brian Fuchs - COO, EVP

As Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer, Brian Fuchs stewards a high performing, collaborative culture that embraces responsiveness and agility in service of Matrix's clients. Brian brings experience leading the delivery of Matrix's services to clients for regulatory planning and permitting in the energy sector and emerging areas like zero-carbon fuels, energy storage projects, and carbon sequestration. He has served on Matrix's senior leadership team since 2019 as an operations Vice President and most recently as Vice President, Revenue and Growth. In his role, Brian oversees our operations teams that deliver successful projects for our clients across Canada. He also supports the growth and diversification of the company's revenue base by leading our engagement with our clients and ensuring our technical teams are delivering valuable solutions for the challenges facing communities and industries Brian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a professional engineer.

Chris Seasons

Chris Seasons is a senior advisor and director at ARC Resources and provides leadership support to the executive team in the areas of strategy and risk management, as well as investment decision-making. Chris brings over 30 years of operating experience covering all facets of the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry. He currently represents ARC on the boards of Longshore Resources and Steelhead Petroleum. Chris is also a current director and past chair for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. He is also the past president of Devon Canada Corporation, former chairman of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, and past member of the Oil Sands CEO Council. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Queen's University.

DAVID VAN VLIET

As VP, Technical Practices and Innovation, David Van Vliet helps to drive technical excellence and innovation, while ensuring Matrix consistently delivers high quality solutions for our clients. David has more than 25 years of experience as a water resources engineer in areas such as drinking water source protection, watershed hydrology, groundwater and surface water interactions, groundwater and surface water modelling, climate change impact assessments, and information management. He was involved in the development of the water quantity framework relating to the Province of Ontario's Clean Water Act. David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in water resources engineering from the University of Guelph before going on to complete a Master of Applied Science degree in water resources from the University of Waterloo. He is based in Guelph, Ontario.

Delanie Player

Delanie Player is a Principal Wildlife Biologist at Matrix Solutions with over 20 years of experience in projects requiring environmental support for development, research, and land use planning. She provides technical expertise on large multidisciplinary projects including environmental impact assessments (EIAs), renewable energy reports, spill response, wildlife mitigation plans, and wildlife monitoring projects. Delanie has extensive experience helping clients understand provincial and federal wildlife regulations and advising on approaches to minimize wildlife impacts. Within Matrix, Delanie is the Wildlife Technical Lead and Power Market Sector Lead. Through these roles, she provides leadership and senior technical support to staff across disciplines, providing insight into opportunities for growth and development of Matrix's services and people. Delanie has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta.

Holly Elrick - CEO, President

Holly Elrick is Matrix's President & Chief Executive Officer. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience-including 10 years serving as Matrix's Chief Financial Officer, then Chief Operating Officer-Holly stewards a high performing, collaborative culture that embraces excellence in client service and health and safety. She leads the development and execution of long-term strategies that drive growth in new markets, foster technical excellence, and ensure efficient operations. Holly is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) and previously served on the Board of the YWCA of Calgary. Holly holds a Bachelor of Arts, from Queen's University. She also studied commerce and accounting and achieved her Chartered Accountant designation. Holly articled at KPMG and worked on both audit and tax engagements in a variety of industries, including oil and gas, health care, hospitality, and not-for-profit.

Jeff Prince

Jeff Prince is a designated consulting engineer and principal water resources engineer with Matrix and has extensive experience managing multidisciplinary water resources planning, design, and implementation projects. He has been a consulting engineer for over 20 years with leadership roles in both large public companies and smaller private consultancies. Jeff was a founding member and CEO of Ecosystem Recovery Inc. and played a key role in the vision, growth, and success of the environmental consulting company, leading to the 2021 merger with Matrix. Jeff holds degrees in both civil engineering (McMaster University 2001) and biology (Wilfrid Laurier University 1994). He is also a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

John Abbott

John Abbott is an independent consultant providing financial advice to companies engaged in the energy sector. With more than 30 years of financial industry experience, John has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions, and equity and debt financing transactions for companies and governments in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China. John is also a director of Nexen Energy. Previously, John managed the investment banking office of BMO Capital Markets in Calgary. More recently, he was executive advisor to Deloitte in the energy sector, focused on Canada and China. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland, and is a chartered financial analyst.

John Feick - Chairman

John Feick is currently an investor in energy related businesses in Western Canada and the Executive Chair of Matrix Solutions. He is one of the Founders of Matrix and served as its CEO until 2003. His previous business experience includes positions as Senior Vice President of Nova Corporation, President and COO of Nova Chemicals, and Chairman and partner of Kemex Engineering. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Graham Construction, Enmax Corporation, Veresen Inc. and Occidental Petroleum Corp. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University and a Doctorate degree, also in Chemical Engineering, from the University of Alberta.

JON HUTT

Jon Hutt has over 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. As Vice President for Matrix's Southern Plains operations, Jon leads a highly capable team involved with assessment, remediation, reclamation, monitoring, and terrestrial projects located throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Following graduation, Jon started a branch office in Weyburn for KBL Land Use Consulting and was appointed Vice President of the company in 2003. He worked for KBL until the sale of its Saskatchewan assets in 2006 to Odyssey Environmental, where he served as President and CEO until 2009 when Odyssey merged with Matrix Solutions. Jon is a Professional Engineer, holding a degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Regina.

KAREN RADFORD

A proud Canadian, a corporate activist and a community catalyst, Karen has served on the executive leadership teams of Enbridge (EVP People, Planet and Partners and then Chief Transformation Officer) and TELUS (President of Business Solutions including Partner Solutions and International; President of TELUS Quebec). She has also served on the boards of the Alberta Children's Foundation, Western Financial, Energir, the Women's Leadership Foundation, and Loblaw. She believes corporations are living breathing organisms; systems that can evolve to create communities where individuals can grow and thrive. Karen was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40. She was inducted into the Women's Executive Network Hall Fame, named Woman of the Year by Canadian Women in Communications and a Woman of Distinction by the YWCA foundation. A biologist by training, Karen received a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University in 1989.

Kaush Rakhit

Kaush Rakhit is the president of Canadian Discovery and Rakhit Petroleum Consulting. After graduating from university, Kaush founded Rakhit Petroleum Consulting. The company grew quickly and became internationally recognized as a leader in the application of hydrodynamics, basin analysis, and integrated geologic studies. Kaush is also the co-founder of Groundwater Solutions, now Matrix Solutions, and numerous junior exploration and production companies. Kaush holds a Bachelor of Science degree in earth sciences from the University of Waterloo and was the first Master of Science degree candidate to complete the University of Alberta's petroleum hydrogeology program.

Paula Thompson

Paula Thompson is Matrix's Senior Vice President of People and Culture. Drawing on her nearly 25 years of Human Resources expertise, Paula helps to develop and evolve our culture to ensure Matrix attracts and engages the best and the brightest in the industry. Paula leads a talented human resources team and works with the rest of the Executive Leadership Team, to design and implement people-related initiatives and practices that help us achieve our strategic goals. Paula previously served as Vice President of People and Culture for Tervita, in addition to experience with a number of oil and gas service companies and roles in the logistics, high tech, and hospitality industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Acadia University

ROBERT BROWN

As Vice President, Operations for the Natural Sciences and Approvals teams in Western Canada, Robert oversees a dynamic team of regulatory experts and scientists that provide innovative and effective solutions for our clients. With over 20 years of consulting and government experience, he has been involved in a wide range of environmental impact assessments, regulatory applications, and operational monitoring projects working across infrastructure, oil & gas, power, mining, and government sectors. Robert's technical focus is on integrated, multi-disciplinary surface water projects, leveraging collaborative approaches and effective information management. He holds a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo - Wilfrid Laurier joint Graduate program and an Honours degree in Geography, Environmental and Resource Management from Western University.

Sam Bellamy

Sam Bellamy is Vice President for Matrix's Eastern Canada operations and a Principal Water Resources Engineer with 20 years of experience in the water resources and environmental field for both the private and public sectors. Experienced in the development and application of hydrologic, hydraulic and integrated surface/groundwater models, he specializes in water resource impact assessments, water supply projects, flood mapping studies, climate change adaption studies, environmental flow requirement investigations, and source water protection plans. Sam provides leadership and technical support to a team of talented hydrogeologists, geomorphologists, biologists, design technicians and engineers. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Guelph and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and Alberta.

Scott Purves

Scott Purves is a designated environmental professional and professional agrologist with more than 15 years of experience in the environmental industry. His project experience has focused on site assessment, spill response, liability and risk assessment, soil and groundwater monitoring programs, in situ and ex situ remediation techniques, reclamation, and regulatory closure of contaminated sites. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in land use and environmental studies from the University of Saskatchewan and holds the professional agrologist designation in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. He was named a Matrix principal in 2014 and a vice president in 2015. Scott oversees Matrix's operations in the Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, Edmonton, Drayton Valley, and Cold Lake areas.
