After leaving the Air Force in 1960, he began selling furniture full-time with the store. In 1980, Herbert went into a partnership with Family Furniture and sold used furniture to the community. Finally, in 1983 he opened Phillips Furniture and quickly gained the respect of both private customers and business relationships alike from his customer service and love of people...
