Deirdre Doogan

Deirdre has been with PG McMahon since 2004 and has considerable expertise in property transactions. She regularly advises clients in relation to the sale and purchase of both residential and commercial properties as well as the leasing and financing of them. Deirdre has acted for a number of owner management companies in multi-unit developments and has a niche practice in advising land owners, particularly farmers, in wind farm developments and has been involved in a number of windfarm development projects in the West Limerick and North Kerry areas. The firm was founded by Garry McMahon, son of the well known teacher and writer Bryan MacMahon of Listowel, Co Kerry. Garry was born in Cashel, Co Tipperary, the hometown of his mother Kitty and he trained there as a solicitor with his uncle, Donal T. Ryan, before opening his own practice at North Quay, Newcastle West. He quickly developed a significant client base in West Limerick and North Kerry and the firm became particularly known for transactions involving agricultural land and for personal injury claims, in relation to which Garry acted for injured parties and a number of insurance companies. He was a member of the Committee on Court Practice and Procedure which recommended, among other things, the establishment of the Commercial Court.

John Molyneaux

John has been with PG McMahon Solicitors for over 20 years and has an in-depth knowledge of probate and commercial property transactions. John regularly advises private clients on estate planning and acts for the executors and administrators of a large number of estates. This experience includes representing the executors of estates where the will is challenged in court. He also acts for a number of property developers and owners in relation to all areas of property transactions and commercial leases.

Owen McMahon

Owen has been with PG McMahon Solicitors since the early days - since 1971 he has been a key element in the growth and development of the firm, particularly in the areas of litigation and probate. He has particular expertise in structuring family assets like farms and family businesses and in accommodating the succession or estate planning for such assets. Owen regularly acts in high value court claims and has represented clients in significant personal injury,* probate, equity and business dispute claims. He maintains the firm's strong Kerry connection and sees clients by appointment in Listowel every week.

Rossa McMahon

Rossa primarily practices in litigation and dispute resolution. He advises both personal and business/non-profit clients in relation to disputes and compliance matters. He also advises members of regulated professions and in particularly acts for a number of professionals under their disciplinary codes. Rossa has advised a number of credit unions in relation to contractual relationships with IT suppliers, data protection and online banking services. Rossa holds a first class honours masters (LLM) from University College Cork and was awarded a scholarship for his research on the emerging field of online dispute resolution. He trained as a solicitor with Mason Hayes & Curran and subsequently worked in the IP & Technology team of A&L Goodbody. While there, he advised multi-nationals, large Irish businesses and State agencies on intellectual property issues, IT contracts and data protection. He joined PG McMahon in 2009 and is the son of our founder, Garry McMahon. Rossa is a Notary Public, European Trade Mark and Designs Attorney and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has written the legal blog A Clatter of the Law since 2009.
