Adam White

After receiving his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, Adam White joined Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers in September 2013. Adam currently handles matters in many areas, including insurance defense, personal injury, premises liability litigation, construction litigation, motor vehicle accidents, subrogation, and employment law. He handles cases throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and in federal court.

Aerin N. Hickey

Aerin Hickey joined Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers in 2022, after graduating cum laude from Elon University School of Law in December 2021. While in law school, she was the Managing Editor of the Elon Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board, an Academic Fellow, a Teaching Assistant for Civil Procedure, and a Teaching Assistant for Legal Method and Communication. Before her last semester at the law school, she was a Judicial Intern for Judge Toby Hampson of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, Aerin graduated from the University of Georgia, in Athens, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Although she is the newest attorney at Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers, she already has worked on a variety of legal matters.

Andrew Pinto

Andrew is a litigator and the Partner in charge of PCKB's Raleigh office. Andrew has concentrated his practice in the areas of construction law, premises liability, trucking law, personal injury, commercial loss, municipal law, employment law, education law, subrogation, insurance disputes and coverage, UM/UIM matters, and other complex litigation matters. Andrew's clients have included general contractors, developers, subcontractors, trucking companies, insurance companies, landlords, schools, municipalities, police officers, businesses, and individuals. Based on his experience as a member of the Greensboro Zoning Commission, Andrew also offers advice and representation to developers and property owners related to land use and zoning. Andrew regularly represents clients in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina, on both the trial and appellate court levels. He has tried cases in front of juries in both state and federal court. He is also well versed in arbitration, handling commercial disputes pursuant to the American Arbitration Association rules and procedures, as well as arbitrations involving uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance coverage. Additionally, Andrew has represented clients in front of administrative courts and licensing boards. Andrew has handled cases from pre-suit investigation, to litigation, to trial, and through the appellate courts. He has a thorough understanding of all aspects of the litigation process and the costs involved. Every client is unique, and Andrew enjoys building a partnership with each client to gain proper insight into the operation of each clients' business, their tolerance for litigation risk, and their perception of the best available outcome. Andrew regularly helps clients assess and evaluate the benefits of filing lawsuit and going to trial, against the inherent business risks and costs of litigation. When not working, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing in a local sandlot baseball league, cheering for Wake Forest University sports, and listening to bluegrass music.

Britney M. Millisor

Britney Millisor joined Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers in 2019. She received her law degree from Elon University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. During her time at Elon Law, Britney served as Editor-in-Chief of the Elon Law Review and was an active member in several student organizations. She also served as a research assistant in both Property Law and First Amendment Law. Prior to entering private practice, Britney served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard D. Dietz of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She currently handles matters in various areas, including appellate practice and personal injury law. Britney is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

Deborah J. Bowers

Deb Bowers received her B.A. degree from the University of Texas and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston, Bates College of Law in 1980. After graduating from law school, Deb moved to New Jersey where she engaged in a civil litigation practice for several years, specializing in fidelity and surety work, construction defects litigation, commercial litigation, products liablity, and personal injury defense. Since moving to North Carolina in 1997, Deb has focused her practice primarily on insurance coverage disputes and construction defect litigation, but she handles all types of litigated matters from personal injury to products liability. Deb also regularly defends municipalities, as well as private entities, in land use disputes and employment matters. She has tried cases to jury verdict on many occasions. Since 2009, Deb has been a certified North Carolina Superior Court mediator. She also is now an arbitrator, and is listed on the American Arbitration Association panel of arbitrators.

Jon Ward

Jon Ward is a trial and appellate lawyer with experience with a wide variety of matters, as can be seen by the list of his many practice areas. Jon represents individuals, businesses, and other groups in many different types of disputes. He enjoys going to court, whether for hearings, trials, or oral arguments. Jon prides himself on taking on difficult cases, including as co-counsel in cases for trial or on appeal. In 2021, Jon became a North Carolina Board Certified Appellate Practice Specialist, and was listed a "Legal Elite" by Business North Carolina® in Appellate Practice. Jon has held an "AV" Martindale-Hubbell rating since 2014, and was named a "Rising Star" by North Carolina Super Lawyer® from 2013-2019. Lyn Broom has maintained a broad civil litigation and trial practice since 1990. Her practice has included litigating and trying to verdict claims in many practice areas including those involving personal injury/wrongful death, employment law, intellectual property disputes, medical malpractice and professional negligence, consumer fraud, construction defects, motor carrier negligence, product liability litigation, insurance agent and coverage disputes, and commercial and business disputes as well as litigating workers' compensation claims and handling employment related federal and state agency matters and appeals.A majority of her work involves representing defendants, but she also represents plaintiffs in serious personal injury claims and commercial suits. She practices in the state and federal courts in North Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and has been admitted in several states pro hac vice to litigate large commercial matters.

Matt Millisor joined Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers in 2016. He received his law degree from Elon University School of Law where he had the honor of serving as president of the Student Bar Association. Matt also had the privilege of being a kicker/punter for the East Carolina University Varsity football team as an undergraduate. He currently handles matters in various areas, including insurance defense, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, and subrogation matters. He handles cases throughout North Carolina and in federal court.

Paul D. Coates

Paul Coates has over 40 years of experience practicing civil litigation, primarily personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, insurance matters, and commercial litigation. For many of those years he also practiced insurance defense, although his practice has now developed into one representing mainly injured claimants. He practices in both State and Federal courts and is admitted to the U. S. Supreme Court Bar. He has extensive jury verdict experience. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer at seminars for lawyers and insurance adjusters. He was the Editor of the North Carolina Insurance Law Quarterly, and he is the author of Chapter 2, "Automobile Insurance," in the 2022 edition of New Appleman North Carolina Insurance Litigation, a LexisNexis Practice Guide. Paul is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Richard L. Pinto

Rick Pinto has been engaged in a varied civil litigation practice since 1980. His practice areas include personal injury and wrongful death claims, construction claims, motor carrier claims, product liability litigation, insurance (both defense and coverage), and commercial litigation. While a majority of his work involves representing defendants, both individual and corporate, he also represents plaintiffs on commercial claims, as well as in serious personal injury claims. He has tried over 220 cases to verdict, and practices in the state and federal courts in North Carolina.
