I am Pethuru (Peter) Raj. I was born in Kanyakumari. I did my schooling and college studies in my birth place itself. Then by God's abundant grace, I finished my CSIR-sponsored PhD degree in Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India in October 1997 under the supervision of Prof. Ponnammal Natarajan (the research goal was to leverage the proven and pioneering mathematical concepts such as finite automata, applied algebra and formal languages for investigating a couple of biological processes (splicing and recombination of DNA sequences) in order to contribute for the much-maligned DNA computing)...
